Sukanya you summed it so well. The character analysis of Jagia is right but what abt Singh family? They are the main culprits for spoiling two lives. Their support to Anandi is commendable (ppl should learn from it) but what abt support to Jagia? Jagia is what they made him , so why should he alone pay the prize.Originally posted by: mocking_bird
It is all about relationships. Not only the relationship between husband and wife, but, between members of a family as well. how they reach out to each other in time of need and try to understand and reciprocate.
All marriages do not go horribly wrong. True, that Jagya and Anandi had a Bal Vivah. But so did Lal Singh. Why Lal Singh's marriage was successful, when he too went to Mumbai, got educated and enlightened like Jagya?Jagya married Gauri out of his own free chioce, yet, that too went awry. The truth,as I feel it, is how you look at relationships and value them. Jagya did not know the value of any relationship that he shared with any one. He just did not learn it from his childhood. He had no fear for elders in the family and went on doing wrong things since he was a child. His was a pampered childhood and both Sumitra and Bhairon failed as parents. They should have reined him in when there was time.So there was a message for every one in BV;1. For children:-learn to love and respect each relationship you share2. For parents:- while you love and pamper your kids,by no means,do. But,also see to it that they are punished when punishment is due. Children must know that they have a boundary within which they have to move. If they cross it,it calls for action.3. for the grandparents:-love thy grand kids. But,let the love not make you blind. Blind love harms a lot many people in its wake and you become the worst sufferer. And last but,not the least, Bal Vivah is wrong as kids do not understand the meaning of marriage and consider each other only as play mates.Marriage, therefore, should have the consent of both the people who understand and value the notion of marriage. That is why,Shiv sought Anandi's consent and gave so much importance to it . He had time and again advocated to Dadisa not to pressurise Anandi into any kind of agreement.Lastly, love and respect win all. An autocratic matriarch, who burnt the books of her grand daughter -in-law,went to insurmountable length to see to it that this grand daughter -in-law settle down. That was, indeed, something!!
