"Anandi" Shiv who just entered Circuit House called his wife.. But she was nowhere to be seen.. Anandi.. kahan ho?? He called again this time raising his voice a little.. But there's still no answer.. He impatiently walked into the kitchen to check if she was there.. She wasn't. Yaha nahin hain?? hmmm.. He went towards bedroom hoping to find her there but she wasn't there too.. Coming back to the hall.. "Anandi" he almost shouted.. Just when he was about to go out into the garden to find her.. He noticed the door to their terrace open.. With a sigh of relief he walked towards the terrace..
Anandi was drying some mangoes and chillies on the terrace to make achar.. Her in laws have informed her that they'll come visiting them in a week's time.. So in anticipation she was preparing various things for them.. She wore a green and yellow bandhni saree and her hair was in a mess.. she just loosely held her long hair in a messy knot which actually made her look cute.. Few strands of hair carelessly fell on her face which she tried to tuck behind her ears but failed cause of the breeze that was getting them back to her face.. She had her pallu and pleats tucked at her waist to avoid it from coming in between her work.. All in all she looked like a hard working housewife who was now drenched in sweat and smell of the masala's because of the scorching hot afternoon sun and her work..
Ana' Shiv stopped in his tracks once he found her on the terrace drying Chillies.. She looked so beautiful. He felt jealous of the tender breeze that was caressing his wife's cheeks.. She was too immersed in her work to notice him.. He quickly walked towards her.. But kicked a plate full of mangoes in doing so..
The sudden sound startled Anandi.. and when she looked up she found her husband looking sheepishly at the toppled plate.. Aap?? Iss waqt yahan pe.. She asked him while pushing away the strands of hair which were blocking her view.. But because of sweat they stuck to her forehead and didn't move.. Annoyed she tried again to tuck it behind her ear..
But before she could.. Shiv reached out and slowly tucked the strand of hair behind her ear.. Before taking his hand back he slightly caressed her ear.. She gasped and looked into his eyes.. He was looking at her with eyes full of passion.. Feeling shy Anandi suddenly averted her eyes and broke the eye lock.. He secretly loved the effect he has on her..
Woh mirchi haina tumhare haath mein.. toh maine socha main hata doon.. He said with a sly smile.. She knew that what he did was on impulse and he was definitely not thinking before touching her.. She secretly enjoyed the effect she has on him.. She shyly bit her lower lip while thinking about her effect on him.. He gasped at the sight..
She looked at him with a sly smile and asked kya?? Kya dekh rahe hain?? Her sudden question bought him out of his reverie' he said Kabootar!!! Kabootar?? She looked at him in disbelief. Woh.. woh kabootar dekho tumhare peeche.. kitna sundar haina.. He said not exactly knowing what to say.. She turned around and saw a pigeon sitting on the parapet wall and then turned back to him and said Usmein itna khoobsoorat sa kya hain?? Maamuli kabootar hi toh hain.. In an irritated tone.. Here she was thinking he was mesmerized by her and there he was busy watching kabootar!!! She just couldn't believe her husband was so dumb..
Tchaa.. kya bol raha hain Shiv.. seedha seedha bol deta ke woh bohot acchi lag rahi hain issliye unko dekh raha tha.. dekh kya?? nihaar raha tha.. kabootar!! Kabootar acchi lag ragi hain bol diya.. tchaa.. Shiv was irritated at his own silliness.
Annoyed at him she sat down and got herself busy with her work again.. He looked at her working with a pout and knew that he had to do something to make her anger vanish.. Oh wait.. Anger'.. that means she was fishing for his compliments?? She loved the attention he was giving to her and was annoyed when she didn't get it?? Hmmm.. not bad' a huge smile spread across his face while the realization dawned to him..
Anandi who was by then annoyed at his lack of response looked up and was surprised to see him grinning widely looking at a kabootar!!! Phir se?? she thought.. Now this irritated her like anything' "Shiv" she almost shouted his name.. He was startled.. kkk..kya?? kya hua Anandi?? he asked her.. Aapko kuch chahiye tha?? Iss tarah yahan par kyun khade hain.. kabootar dekhne mein itna kya mazaa aa raha hain apko??? Saying that she angrily got up and shooed away the pigeon..
Shiv was amused and loved seeing her in her angry bird mode.. He decided to irritate her a bit more.. kabootar bhaga diya?? Bechaari ne kya bigada tha?? Chup chap si toh gutar-gu karte.. kone mein baithi thi.. he said struggling hard to stifle his laughter.. Jayiye hathiye yahan se.. itna hi pyar aa raha hain toh jaakar dhundhiye usko.. zyaada door nahin udhi hogi.. said Anandi who was now furious.. Waise aapko itna yakeen kaise ki woh bechaara nahin bechaari thi?? She raised an eyebrow and asked him..
woh.. woh.. pata nahin bas mujhe aise laga.. said Shiv still struggling hard to stop himself from bursting out into laughter.. She turned away in anger and muttered under her breath lagega, lagega bohot kuch lagega.. kuch din Halwa bandh kardungi toh sab kuch lagne lagega..
As soon as she turned away Shiv was holding his mouth tightly and was almost rolling on the floor laughing.. Sensing some movement behind her Anandi turned back suddenly only to find Shiv almost choking himself.. Yeh kya kar rahe hain Shiv?? Ho kya gaya hain aapko?? She asked him while moving her hands to rest them on her waist.
Shiv who was least expecting her to turn back took away his hand and started laughing out loud openly which left Anandi totally confused.. After a minute or so Shiv tried to regain his composure he was too mesmerized at his beautiful wife's confused face that inadvertently he started walking towards her' he still had a huge smile on his face..
She removed her hands from her waist and took a step back as she didn't expect him to come towards her.. Though he had a smile on lips.. His eyes were filled with something else.. She couldn't decipher if it was passion.. Love or something totally unknown to her.. She took a step back for each of his step forward..
Just when she was about to get tangled in the Saree which was hanging just behind her.. Shiv leapt in and held onto her by holding her waist.. It was so sudden that she just tried to push him away.. Which made them both fall onto the ground while bringing down the clothes rope with them.. In a hurry to get separated from each other they both kept on fighting with the clothes which in turn made them get entangled in them..
His breath was touching her neck.. This was perhaps the very first time that they were this close.. He tried moving a bit which made his hand brush across her waist.. She gasped at the touch and immediately Shiv moved his hand away thinking he might've hurt her.. But he saw a look of disappointment on her face when he took his hand away.. Taking it as a cue he moved closer and loosely held her waist.. then moving to her ear he slowly said "tumhari yeh khushboo mujhe bohot pasand hain.. yeh masalon ke mehek ke saath ghuli hue tumhari saundhi khushboo bohot acchi lagti hain mujhe.. meri aankhein mundhi hue bhi kyun na ho yeh mehek mujhe tum tak pahuncha degi.." he took in her scent and slightly brushed his lips on her ear..
She shuddered at the touch.. But his words took her back into the memory lane.. This was the same smell which was a reason for Jagya to belittle her..And here her husband finds its mesmerizing and intoxicating.. she shut her eyes tightly as if to shut the painful memories of her past which are casting a shadow on her beautiful present.. Tears escaped the tight confine of her eyelids.. Seeing the tears rolling down from her eyes.. He jerked back immediately thinking he might've hurt her.. She still had her eyes closed.. He quickly left her waist and removed the clothes that entangled them and moved away..
Anandi suddenly missed the warmth of his breath on her neck and his warm touch.. She opened her eyes to find him standing in front of her looking away.. Unknowingly she has hurt him.. She cherished his closeness.. Loved his touch.. His soothing words to her' but perhaps sent a wrong signal to him that she didn't like him being close to her.. She made a mental note to herself.. I will not let my past cloud my present and future.. She couldn't see Shiv in pain.. She has to make it up for him..
Brushing away the sadness she said "Aap yun hi khade reh kar apni Kabootar ka intezar karenge yah phir iss bechari biwi par bhi kuch dyaan dene ka iraada hain??" Shiv who was standing there unable to meet her eyes' thinking he might've hurt her by taking so much liberty to be close to her.. Was shocked at her sudden change of tone.. He thought she would ignore him but here she was busy pulling his leg.. She never ceases to amaze me.. He said to himself with a smile.. Phir se apne aap mein has rahe hain?? Lagta hain pyaar hogaya hain aapko.. bohot pyaar.. Anandi said in a mischievous tone..
Shiv was shocked but decided to play along' he said " haan bohot pyaar hogaya hain.. par pata nahin use kab hoga?? He said with a deep sigh.. pouting at him she said "kya pata use bhi aapse pyaar ho?? Par bata nahin paa rahi ho.." She bit her lower lip again hoping that he would catch the cue..
He just loved it when she did that' But right now he was in mood to tease her so he said "tumko lagta hain woh bhi pyaar karti hain?? Tabhi main sochu woh har roz yahan kyun aati hain.. ab samjha.. mere liye yahan aati hain.." Kaun?? asked a shocked Anandi. Kabootar aur kaun?? Dekho woh waapis aagyi he pointed towards the pigeon.. And then turned to Anandi and asked Waise tum kiski baat kar rahi thi?? Meri aur bhi koi chahne waali hain kya?? winking at her..
Phir se Kabootar?? Jaao nahin chahiye mujhe aapka haath main khud uth sakti hoon.. Saying that she tried to get up but the silky saree under her feet made her trip and fall again.. Shiv had a smile on his face seeing her being so childish.. He moved ahead and gave her his hand.. Though she was pouting at him.. She took his hand and got up.. Both Shiv and Anandi silently thanked the kabootar which reappeared just in time and eased the tension which was in the air a few minutes ago..
She adjusted her saree quickly and then opened her knot and let her hair fall back freely before she could re-knot it again.. he slowly said "rehne do na.. aise accha lag raha hain" she blushed and said chaliye aapke liye chai bana deti hoon.. waise kuch khane ke liye bhi chahiye kya saath mein?? He said haan kuch bana do bhook lagi hain mujhe.. She nodded her head and followed him' he was shocked at himself.. After so much awkwardness a few minutes ago.. He's back to flirting with her again.. Even I am starting to surprise myself he thought to himself while walking down the stairs.
He went to his room to freshen up and Anandi headed to the Kitchen.. as she made the tea.. Her thoughts went back to the incident that happened few minutes ago.. It bothered her how her past is somewhat clouding her present. Aaj woh ekdum se kate kate se hogaye.. sab meri wajah se.. main unko yeh kaise samjhao ke mujhe unke mere kareeb aane se koi aapatti nahin.. kuch purani baatein, kuch dhundhli yaadein.. bas aajati hain mann mein kabhi kabhi.. in sab par mera bas nahin chalta hain.. Main na chahte hue bhi Shiv ko taqleef de rahi hoon.. mujhe aisa kuch jald hi karna hoga jisse main Shiv ko yeh ehsaas karvaa paao ke mere liye ab humara rishtaa dosti se badhkar hain.. she thought with a deep sigh.
In the bathroom Shiv is standing under the shower.. he was getting restless' today in his stupor he kind of over stepped the line he drew for himself.. He unknowingly invaded her space.. Which has hurt her.. woh toh accha hain that we are best friends.. uss wajah se hi toh unhone apne aapko aur mauke ko sambhal liya.. lag toh yeh raha tha ke who mujhse naraz hojayegi.. hum dono ka ek saath akele iss ghar mein rehna mushkil hojayega.. par yeh toh unka acchai hain ke unhone iss baat ko zyaada nahin kheencha.. mujhe abse bohot sambhal kar rehna hoga.. aisa kuch nahin karna hoga ke main unhein aur humari dosti ke rishte ko chot pahunchao.. he thought with a deep sigh.
Anandi heard a sudden thunder and wondered "lagta hain aaj bin mausam baarish hone waali hain.. jaldi se jaakar sab sameth laati hoon chat se.. bheeg jaayenge toh kuch na kar sakungi unka.." she quickly rushed towards the terrace and picked up the chillies and mangoes she kept for drying and came down.. By the time she reached hall she saw Shiv all freshened up sitting on the dining table waiting for his tea and snacks.. She quickly kept the things in her hand in kitchen and bought the tea and snacks for him.. She was about to go back to the terrace.. when Shiv stopped her and asked "kahan jaa rahi ho?? Tumhari chai kahan hain??" she said "Shiv baarish hone waali hain.. mujhe jaakar sookhe kapde laane hain.. bheeg gaye toh pata nahin kab jaakar phir se sookhenge" he said "tum rehne do main jaakar le aata hoon.. tab tak tum apni chai lekar aana saath mein piyenge.." he quickly got up and rushed towards the terrace before she could stop him.. She went into the kitchen thinking "yeh bhi na" with a smile on her lips..
Shiv picked up the dried clothes quickly but before he could leave the terrace with them the rain started and he got drenched in the sudden downpour.. Sighing he slowly got down and reached the hall.. Anandi who just came out of the kitchen with her tea..Quickly kept it on the dining table and rushed towards him and asked "yeh kya?? Aap toh poora ka poora bheeg gaye.. aur kapde.. kapde bhi bheeg gaye.. issi liye toh main jaa rahi thi.. apne toh bas khanmakhan rokliya mujhe aur ab dekho.." he was slightly irritated at her blaming tone hence snapped at her "agar tum jaati toh meri jagah tum bheeg jaati.. baarish nyotha lekar nahin aaya tha.." she smiled at his childishness and said "chaliye..aapka aur in kapdon ka kuch ilaaj karna padega..
He followed her to the bedroom.. She took out a fresh pair of clothes for him to change into and told him to sit in the dressing chair so that she can towel his wet hair.. He followed her instruction like a school boy but was still sulking at her blaming him for getting himself and clothes wet in the rain.. She began toweling his hair.. And to make him get out of his sulking mood.. Pulled his hair lightly.. "Ouch.. dhyaan se Anandi dukh raha hain" he almost screamed in pain.. "haan theek hain.. theek hain.." she said while stifling her laughter.. After toweling his hair she told him to change and just as she was about to turn and leave she heard him scream Ouch once again.. She turned immediately and asked Kya hua Shiv?? With a lot of concern in her voice.. "Aankh mein kuch chala gaya Anandi.. dukh raha hain" he said.
She quickly sat in front of him and took his face in her hands and slowly opened his eyelids.. She saw an eyelash stuck in his eye.. Slowly she took it out.. She was so immersed in the work at hand that she didn't realize she almost had her nose touching his.. Even in so much pain Shiv was lost in her.. No matter how much he wants to control himself.. he cannot when she's so close to him.. He took a deep breath which suddenly made her aware of their closeness. She suddenly felt very shy and tried moving away from him.. Arghhh he screamed.. Worried she came back to him.. He was now frantically rubbing his eye.. "Kya hua Shiv ??" she asked him worriedly..
"Mirchi Anandi.. tumne Mirchi waale haaton se mere aankh ko chua hain.. aisa lag raha hain ke aag lagi hain mere Aankh mein arghhh" he was screaming now.. She looked at her hands and then at him confusedly.. "Arghhh kuch karo Anandi kuch karo.." he shouted again.. She quickly held him by his hand and took him into the bathroom.. He was still screaming which made her nervous so instead of the regular tap she turned on the shower.. Anandiii main already bheega hua hoon aur kitna bhigaogi mujhe tum?? Arghhh he was screaming'. now it was too much for her.. At once she grabbed his face and bought it to the level where she could look into his eyes.. and said "bas.. bachchon ki tarah cheekhna, chillana bandh kijiye.. bachchon ke baap hone ki umar hogayi hain aapki.. chaliye.." she took him to the tap and made him wash the eye.. He was still dazed at what she just said.. "bachche.." did she see a future with him?? A future where they would have babies together.. He was still looking at her.. trying to read her reactions but she gave none. she was busy with the task at hand and looked as if she totally forgot what she just said.. He looked away thinking "main bhi kitna pagal hoon.. woh toh bas gusse mein kuch keh gayi.."
She was very well aware of what she had just said and the effect those words had on him.. Now is the moment when she can open up her heart to him.. Now is the moment where she can tell him that now he's more than a best friend to her.. Now is the time where she has to tell him that she dreams of a future with him' a future which no one else other than him can give her. Once she was done with the washing he moved away to turn and go back to the room.. She slowly held his hand.. He turned around and saw what he always wanted to see in her eyes.. LOVE.. Love for him.. But he wasn't sure if it was actually there.. Or was it the strong urge of seeing that love in her eyes for him.. Which is clouding his senses?
They both were still standing under the shower.. She tried reaching upto him by tiptoeing' just as she was about to slip.. He held her by her waist and steadied her.. She looked straight into his eyes and said "Shiv.. aapne jo suna isse pehle woh baat maine yun hi nahin kahi thi.. ussmein' aur ab iss waqt meri aankhon mein aap jo dekh rahe hain issmein.. mera pyar hain aapke liye.. haan Shiv shaadi ke din se lekar aaj tak aap dheere dheere kab mere Best Friend se jeevan saathi ban gaye pata hi nahin chala.. uss waqt chath pe main apse door nahin hona chahti thi.. kuch purani dhundhli yaadein na chahte hue bhi kabhi kabhi mann mein aa jaati hain.. main poori koshish kar rahi hoon aur aagey bhi karungi unse peecha chuda kar aapse judne ki.. aap agar ek pal ke liye bhi yeh sonche ke main apke saath apna bhavishya aur apne sapnon ka bhavishya nahin dekhti toh woh meri Pyar ki haar hogi.. a tear rolled from her eye..
He quickly held her face in his hands and looked into her eyes.. He was holding her as if she was a delicate dream which would break if he holds her tightly.. He wiped her tear with his thumb and said "Anandi.. main na jaane kabse iss pal ka intezaar kar raha tha.. har baar sochta tha ke jab yeh lamha mere zindagi mein aayega toh aisa hoga waisa hoga.. par ab jab aaya hain toh iss feeling ko main bayaan hi nahin kar sakta.. bohot pyar karta hoon main tumse.. aur main har uss koshish mein tumhara saath dunga jo tumhein khushi degi.. chahe woh koi dundhli yaad mitani ho ya phir koi pyaara sa sapna saakar karna ho.. tumhara yeh jaanna zaroori hain ke har kadam pe tum mujhe apne saath paaogi.. Before he could continue.. She quickly hugged him tight and said "main jaanti hoon Shiv aap humesha, har haal mein mera saath denge.. aur aaj main aapse yeh vaada karti hoon ke main bhi apka har haal mein saath dungi.." he rested his chin on her head and hugging her tightly to him said "Main jaanta hoon Anandi.. tum hamesha mere saath ho" he felt complete with her in his arms.
It is just a beginning of their story.. There are many dreams which they have to fulfill together.. There are many more milestones which they would achieve together..
I just wanted to complete this one and post it.. didn't proof read so bear with me.. there could be loads of typo's and errors.. hope u guys like it :)
