it is not about bhashan she is the surpunch, she has won their trust, she is a part of them for many years, big difference, she is respected, she does not even have to give a bhashan anymore

Yesterday's episode was a landmark in terms of social messages...I should say I am a proud BVian.

Anandi is not any other Sarpanch but from her work, dedication, her willingness to go to any extent to help others has set her apart from the rest. All are aware of her motives and intentions. She has earned the respect from each and everyone...be it children, the grown ups or the elders. Sab ke sab maante hai use.

And I am sure that a mother in her heart would always want to give all the happiness to her ill-fated daughter but is stopped from doing so bcoz of the age-old traditions and superstitions. So when they get a chance and got the support of sarpanch and collector, it gave them that extra strength to cross the barriers for the happiness of their daughters.
There is nothing illogical in it...in fact it makes sense and I love CVs for conveying this message to one and all.

I just read the updates...so didn't know how touching that scene was.

@ elasingh -

Anandi lived her whole life with the Villagers. The girls and their parents loved her and adored her as their friend/teacher and so they chose her as the Sarpanch. So, i wouldn't be surprised if they listened to her "reasonable and sensible" advice. Besides this...w/o any doubts, all these kids will love to participate in occasions. They have stayed away ONLY because they were not allowed to..so they would obviously be overjoyed if someone actually comes forward to invite them!

Dear social evils par jaane kitne great ppl have given bhashans. Ppl who
really great.
If cvs had shown 1 or 2 girls comming and putting mehndi
then it was believable but all the widows? Its too much.
Serpanch is not a very high post either.

I disagree, the gao has developed a lot, it is not a challenge to teach them stuff anymore, it was earlier
