Anandi Ka Drunken Dard Confession
A few days after the Shekhar's had come over for dinner at the Badi Haveli. Basant, Gehna, Bhairon n Dsa had gone to another village for inviting relatives for AnSh wedding. Ashi tired of village life went for a day out with Mahi to Jaipur. Dsa n Anandi had resolved the Jagat issue but sometimes Dsa looked pained for her LADESAR. Jagat was pretending to be good. Anandi returned late that evening after the meeting at the Collector's office. AnSh had known about the Railway Tender discrepancies done by Jagat. Anandi wanted to bust him for this but Shiv said we will bring it out in a way such that the family is not hurt especially Dsa. Anandi was touched by Shiv's concern for Dsa even after knowing of the indecent proposal made to Anandi.
Anandi said to Shiv,"Aap kitne acchhe, Dsa ne jo kaha phir bhi aap unki itni chinta karte hai. Unki baat agar maani jaati toh aap ka dil toot jata." Shiv told her, "Dsa jo bhi kar rahi thi woh isliye kyunki Jagdish unke pyar ka fayda utha raha hai. Agar unhe humare khushi ki fikar nahi hoti toh woh kabhi humaari shaadi ki baat nahi karti. Sirf unki wajah se aaj mera pyar mere saath hai." Anandi smiled and thanked GOD for making Shiv and sending him in her life. He dropped her home reluctantly. He knew the Singh's were not home and would return the next morning. He wanted her to come to the circuit house but the Shekhar's were not there too. She said, " Aap fikar mat kijiye Nandu aur Makhan kaka hai ghar par." Shiv did not trust her safety as Jagat was at the haveli.
Anandi returned and went to her room freshened up. When Shiv returned home his family was there. He filled them about the situation at the haveli and asked them if he could call Anandi over to stay with them. C M opposed to the idea. Shiv was a little miffed but Ira explained that they could not call her before marriage as it is a small place and it would hinder Anandi's reputation. Shiv was concerned and called Anandi to check up on her. She was fine. He was still not at ease. He had a feeling that something was not right. He checked up on her every half an hour. The same answer she was fine.
Jagat was upto his tricks. He wanted to use the situation at the haveli to his advantage. He was a doctor and spiked Nandu's milk with a light dose sleeping medicine. Makhan was sent out for some work. Anandi unknown to the recent proceedings went in the kitchen to make tea. Jagat requested if she could make him a cup too. She said yes and gave him a cup. He asked for some food. As Anandi turned around to get naashta for him he laced her tea with some drug. He wanted to ruin her life for rejecting him. He wanted to abuse her physically hence the drug. Anandi was slightly intoxicated. Jagat was about to make a move but then his evil mind started working. He thought, " Agar main Anandi ko kuch kaoronga toh Bapusa mujhe maar dalenge."
Another idea came to his gutter mind. He took Anandi to the Circuit House n left her in the garden. He thought," Anandi aaj bhi kahin na kahin mujhse pyaar karti hai. Bas akad ke karan nahi bolti. Agar woh nashe mein Shiv aur uske parivaar ke saamne sach bol de toh ye rishta toot jayega. Mera khilona Anandi ko mere paas wapas aana hi padega." He leaves thinking his plan will be successful.
Shiv was having sleep trouble thinking of Anandi alone in the haveli with Jagdish. He was standing at his window observing the beauty of the moon n the twinkle of the stars. He did this every night after his love confession. He thought, "Kaash Anandi yahan hoti toh hum dono is romantic moment ko saath jeete. Kab aayega woh din jab main use apni baahon mein bhar ke ye nazaara dekhoonga." He looked outside the window n said to himself, " Bas collector sahib ab yahi baaki tha. Sote hue toh Sarpanchji ke sapne dekhte hi ho ab khuli aankhon se bhi dekhne lage." He thought he saw Anandi sitting on the swing in the garden. He started to move away from the window but then saw his "imaginary" Anandi smile and wave at him.
He rubbed his eyes could not believe that she was actually there. He rushed out to the garden n noticed something weird about her. She smiled at him her smile more intoxicating than ever before. He asked, " Aandijee aap yahan kaise, sab theek toh hai na?" Anandi smiled at him n pulled him next to her. Shiv noticed that something was wrong, his doubt was right she was under the effect of some intoxication but how. It had to be Jagdish his heart n mind were filled with rage. He took Anandi inside. He told her to sit on the sofa while he got water but she started to blabber n made everyone wake up. The Shekhar's were shocked to see Anandi in that state. C M thought, "Ye ladki nashe mein hai?" Some of her worry about AnSh relation came back.
Anandi was sitting on the sofa everyone concerned about her asked her various questions. She was quiet. Shiv came to her and gave her some water which she refused. There were tears in her eyes. Her pain was visible in her eyes. She said, "Woh ganda Jagya mujhe yahan chod gaya." Shiv was enraged again. She started to speak up Shiv stopped her n told her that she needed sleep. She then looked at CM and said with tears in her eyes, " CM aapne poocha tha na ki kya main Jagya ko bhool paoongi? Main nahi bhool sakti use." Shiv was hurt seeing her in pain. He told her, " Anandijee chal kar so jaiye aapko neend ki zarrorat hai." CM saw her pain n heard it too. She stopped Shiv n said, " Shiv ise bolne do, hosh mein jo nbahi bolegi abhi bol degi. Kal use yaad ho na ho iska dil halka mehssos karega." For the first time all saw her concern for Anandi.
Anandi looked at CM n said," Aap kisi aur ka pyar paakar kisika pyar bhool sakti hain lekin kisi ka diya hua dard bhoolna mushkil hota hai. Khaaskar tab jab aap apne zindagi ka sabse ahem rishta kho de. Uski wajah se meri ma ki maut ho gayi. Main usko bhool sakhti hoon par uska diya ye dard kaise bhooloon?" She looked at Shiv and said, " Aapko pata hai na, aap wahan the na, meri ma." She sobs n rests her head on her shoulder. Shiv had tears in his eyes all looked at him n he nodded in a yes. He knew her pain n understood it but this was the first time she was letting it out. He was relieved for her.
Then she started saying about Dsa. She said, " Main unhe dukh nahi dena chahti par kya main itni buri hoon ki main kush nahi ho sakti? Sab kehte hain Anandi kitni acchhi hai samjhdaar hai, par main thak gayi hoon mujhe nahi banna samjhdar. Mujhe hasna hai, jeena hai, khush hona hai. " Shiv understood that she was talking about Dsa telling her to go back to Jagat. She takes Shiv's hand and puts on her head and asks, " Mere sar par seengh hai? Kya meri poonch hai? Kya main koi gai hoon jo pehle bina marzi k eek khoote se baandha, who choot gaya to doosre par bheja. Jab yeh khoota pasand aane laga toh kehti hai teri jagah pehle khoote par hai. Kyun meri koi marzi nahi? Kya main insaan nahi? Mujhe nahi manni unki baat. Nahi jaana unke GHADESAR ke paas." She giggles n repeats " GHADESAR hai woh LADESAR nahi." Shiv giggles too n imagines Jagat as half man half donkey.
Everyone is shocked to hear what Dsa had said and done. She also spilled out the Urmi Devi secret. All the Shekhar's including CM this time is happy. She had started to see the pain that Anandi was in n thought that she is right for my Shiv. Anandi continued to share her pain with Shiv. She then said," Main phir se woh Bilariya ki do choti waali nanhi si Anandi nahi ban sakti jo kabhi Jagya se nahi mili thi? Haan aisa ek baar hua tha main use bhool gayi thi. Jab main itni si thi (she raises her hand to show how tall she was at that time) maine yahan(she points at her forehead) uske liye goli khayi thi apne dost ke liye, aur woh aaj tak mere liye crocin ki goli bhi nahi khayi." Everyone is shocked to hear that Anandi at such a tender age made that kind of sacrifice for Jagdish n he went ahead and betrayed the very girl who gave him a second life. They were ever so proud of Anandi and felt privileged like Shiv to have her as part of their family.
She then looked at Shiv n gave him a little push with anger, " Aap sirf padhaai karte rahe kabhi ghoomne nahi nikle, agar nikalte toh Bilaria aate aur mujhe pehle milte na." Shiv had read this complaint in her eyes many times but this was the first time she ever said it out loud. He held his ears n said," Sorry" She said," It's ok aapki pehle galti hai is liye maaf kiya. Nahi toh teacherjee aapko murga banati." Everyone laughed. All her sorrows were out of her heart now. She was feeling light. She was now in the fun mood.
Suddenly giggled but frowned once again. She looked at Shiv and said," Aapne apna vaada tod diya na?" Shiv was perplexed n asked, " Kaunsa vaada toda maine?" She said," Aapne kaha than a ki meri khushi aapki responsibility hai." She continued, " Aapko kapde dhona aata hai?" Shiv controlled his laugh and nodded a yes. Anandi then said," Toh aap us GHADESAR ko dhote kyun nahi? Jaise Jyoti ki shaadi mein un gundo ko dhoya tha. Jagga daku kahi ka, hamesha jab main khush hoti hoon daku ki tarah meri khushi cchheen ne aata hai. Us din aap filmy hero ke jaise lag rahe the Salmaan Khan jaise nahi nahi aap to Sawariya hai woh tow.." Shiv shuts her mouth with his palm to stop her from revealing, their personal secrets in front of all.
Everyone is happy to see Anandi like this carefree. This was the real Anandi who was lost because of Jagat's continuous torture. Her eyes filled up again as Shiv tries to wipe them she says, " Nahi mat pocho warna main kaise soungi? Bachpan se har raat aise hi rote rote neend aati hai. Ma nahi hai warna mujhe kahani sunake salati." She looks at Shiv and says, "Aap mujhe kahani sunake sulayenge? Aapko SURYABADAL aur RAJKUMAARI ki kahani aati hai? Nahi? Main sunati hoon." She tells the story n only Shiv can relate to it. It's her story before n after meeting him in the jungle.
She is now really exhausted after all her pain coming out. She had a long day and was under the influence of the drug so was feeling even more groggy. Daddu n all ask Shiv to take her to his room and put her to sleep. They have mixed feelings for her. Pride, sympathy, pain and joy they were feeling it all for their Anandi. Shiv takes her to his room and puts her on the bed. It was not difficult to put her to sleep. She closed her eyes. As he was about to leave she caught hold of his hand n said," I hate him but I LOVE YOU. Sacchi." Smiles at him and closes her eyes again. Shiv was very happy on hearing her confession a tear rolled down his cheek. He wanted to embrace her but felt like he would be taking advantage of her. He left her there sleeping peacefully dreaming of her SURYABADAL.
