Part 2

Shiv was sitting in his room depressed of what happened… he had never thought that choti ma would react in such way and ask to call off the wedding… he knew that she was not really happy about this wedding with anandi being a divorcee but he was sure that once anandi would come, she would change her mindset and would win choti ma's heart.. but this time he found the situation irreparable…a big damage has been done and he has no idea how to amend it.. He knew that it was not anadi 's fault that jagiya got sick and she had to do his seva, but this time he can't hold choti ma responsible for mistake too. She was also right this time .. he knew how much she loves him and cant see him in pain….and to be honest , he was in pain….. he completely trusts annadi but could not help but feel uncomfortable with the way things has taken shape… his heart , didn't know why, but filled with jealousy, anger when jagiya held her hand and called her his beendni…….he was not able to control his emotions and felt like leaving the place as soon as possible……

He knew that if it was hard for him , then how much more harder it would be for anandi …….he felt himself struck in a situation where he doesn't know which path to take….

Suddenly his phone rings and he came out of his thoughts……..it was bhim singh… he was in no mood to talk about work but he can't let his personal problems overpower his duties.. with heavy heart he picked up phone… it was about the meeting to be held about railway project next week …after few official talks he cut the phone ……..he knew he had to call anandi to tell her about meeting but was not able to dial her number.with heavy heart he laid down and closed his eyes……….

Anandi was lying in taiji's room .bapusa's words were still echoing in her ears that it is now or never situation and she has to take a firm a decision now…….she really respects shiv a lot…. her head was spinning so fast..all the moments she has spent with shiv came rushing back to her mind -how , whatever the situation was, he has always tried to bring a smile on her face and to her amazement , every time he has been successful at it too… she always felt really comfortable around him… he always cares about her. ..always ready to share his all emotions openly wither….. never ever doubted her even though he knew jagiya was in town……..but what has she done for him? Except for giving pain and tension…. She remembers how she left the food at his office just because jagiya was there.. she never thought how he would feel about it….how she kept mum whenever jagiya talks nonsense…..a guilt feeling overcame her and she didn't know what to do…….she thinks to herself that how can she be so selfish?how she didn't feel his pain????with that she burst into tears……..she herself has ruined her relationship and she don't know any way to come out of this mess…………with all these thoughts she didn't realize when she dozed off to sleep………….

In the morning she got ready to go to shiv's office, to talk to him , to apologise to him……she was about to get down the stairs when jagiya called her from back….

JAGIYA: arey anandi kaha ja rahi ho tum?

Anandi clutched her fist in anger…..she turned around and looked at him..

Anandi: collector sahib se milne? Kyun?

jagiya: wo anandi mera chai peene ka bahut mann ho raha hai… plz mere liye chai le ao……..

anandi( sternly): mein taiji se keh deti hoon .wo bhijwa degi..

jagiya: arey taiji kyun? Tum kyun nahi?tumhe pata hai na ki mujhe tumahare haath ki adrak wali chai kitni pasand hai to plz tum wahi chai bana ke le ao………..(he gave his wicked smile to her)

anandi ( breathes a sigh of anger ):mujhe abhi bahut zaroori kaam ha jagiyai, main nahi bana sakti.. main taiji se keh dungi wo bana degi…

saying this she ran downstairs without looking back……….

Jagiya remains standing there with wicked smile

JAGIYA(to himself): tumhe kya lagta hai anandi ki tum us shiv se baat karogi to sab thik ho jaega….kuch thik nahi hone wala ab… tumhe laut kar mere paas hi ana hoga……..maine kaha tha na ki um se sab kuch chin lunga aur dekhlo uski shuruat to shiv ki choti ma ne kar hi di hai ,is rishte ko todne ki baat karke… ab dekhna kaise main ek ek karke pure parivar ko tumse door kar dunga…………….

Anandi reached shiv 's office..she ran to his office….but his office was empty… she asked the peon but he had no idea… after few minutes bhim singh arrived..

Bhim singh: arey anandi ji ap yahan? Itni subah subah?

Anandi: bhim singh ji collector sahib kaha hai …mujhe unse abhi milna hai….

Bhim singh: sir to delhi gaye hai..

Anandi: (surprised): delhi …par kyun aur kitne din ke liye?

Bhim singh:do din ke liye……… wo aj subah subah cm sahib ka phone aya tha kuch urgent work ke liye unhe jana pada…kyun unhone apko bataya nahi.?.

Anandi: nahi

Bhim singh: wo bhul gaye honge.. darasal achanak se hi programme bana than a to dimag se nikal gaya hoga unke….acha anandi ji muhe thoda kaam hai mainchalta hoon……..

Bhim singh left from there …Anandi kept standing there..

Anandi(to herself): delhi chale gae? Mujhe bataya bhi nai? Par wo to mujhse kuch na chupate phir ye achanak se… (Tears welled up in her eyes)….. wo mujhse naraz hai tabhi unhone mujhe bata nahi….mujh se itni badi galti kaise ho gai…???. Maine kaise unka dil tod diya…. Apne swarth ke karan meine unka dukh dekha hi nahi…..ab main kya karoon????………

She tried calling him on his cell phone .. but it was unreachable…

She ran out from there crying and asked makhan kaka to leave her at school……

At school

She enter the class .. she had left home early so girls has not still come, whole class was empty.. she sat down on her chair still thinking about shiv ….suddenly she came out of her thoughts when someone put hands on her eyes…….

Anandi: kaun hai???

Some familiar giggling sound she heard…she turned around Immediately and saw phooli standing in front of her……

Anandi(happily): phooli tu? Kab ai tu bilaria se?

Phooli: jaise hi mujhe pata chala ki meri saheli shadi karne ja rahi hai to bas daud ke a gai use milne….ab meri dost ko itna bhi nai ki mujhe bata de par wo to bhala ho kakusa ka ki mein unse mili pichle hafte aur unhone bataya ki unki ladli anandi ki shadi jaitsar ke collector se hone ja rahi hai.. to bas mein a gai…..

Anandi's eyes welled up with tears to see her.. she immediately hugged her…

Anandi:kaisi hai tu phooli? Kaki ki tabiyat ab kaisi hai? Aur chutku, wok kaha hai…

Phooli: arey arey pehle saas to lele… sab batati hoon… ma ki tabiyat bilkul thik hai… aur chutku bhi bilkul thik hai.. par main use ma ke paas hi chod ai.. wo waha akeli thi to maine socha unka mann lag jaega.. aur waise bhi ab waise bhi mujhe yaha itne kaam hai to main chutku ko kaise sambhal pati……..

Anandi: kam? kaise kaam?

Phooli:arey meri saheli ki shadi hai .. to mujhe itni tayariyan karni hai…

Anandi smiles forcibly…

Phooli: arey kya baat tera muh kyun phoola hua hai.. kya lad ke ai hai collector sahab se………

Anandi couldn't control herself and burst into tears……..

Phooli: arey kya hua anandi?.. tu ro kyun rahi hai.?. sab thik hai na….?

And anandi told her everything from how she reluctantly agreed to marry shiv to fulfil bhago's last wish, how jagiya came back left gauri and apologized and she dint forgive him… she told her everything from swine flu in village to jagiya;s entry in haveli… how choti ma almost has called off wedding….and her behavior towards shiv everything……..

Anandi(sobbing): main bahut buri hu phooli.. collector sahab ne mere liye itna kuch kiya.. meri choti se choti khushi ka khayal rakha par maine kabhi unki bhawnao ki kadar nahhi ki…

She started crying more

Phooli: anandi.. idhar dekh.. meri taraf dekh..(anandi looked at her and phooli wipes off her tears) dekh mein collector sahib se kabhi mili to hu nahi isliye main zyada kuch nahi keh sakti …par mana ki jagiya ke ane se unko takleef hiui lekin isme teri bhi to koi galti nahi hai… jagiya ne jo tere saath kiya uske baad dobara shadi ke bare mein sochna kitna mushkil raha hoga.. main samajh sakti hoon tera dukh… par phir bhi tune koshish to ki na… ab isme teri kya galti ki tera atit tere samne phir se wapis a gaya… aur main samajh sakti hoon tujhe is sab se kitni takleef aur dukh hua hoga….

Anandi: nahi phooli galti meri hi hai… maine kabhi collector sahab ke dard ko samjha hi nahi.. bas apne dukh mein hi khoi rehti … bapusa ne sahi kaha ki maine unke bharose ka unke vishwas ka n jayaz fayda uthaya hai….main bahut swarthy hoon…

Phooli.: nahi anandi aisi koi baat nahi hai .. tu bas apne hi dukh main khoi hui thi isliye ye sab hua…warna kya main tujhe janti nahi kya? Dusro ki khushi ke liye apni jaan tak dene ko razi ho jati hai tu…

anandi: nahi phooli .. galati to mujhse hui hai.. aur bahut badi galti… lekin mere samajh mein nahi a raha ki kya karoon…

phooli(didn't know what to do but she had to lighten her mood and stop her crying): acha anandi waise collector sahab sahib kaise insaan hai waise?… maine suna tha ki wo bahut khadoos hai..????

anandi: khadoos? kisne kaha tujhse aisa………….. Koi khadoos nahi hai collector sahib.. collector sahab jitna sanyami to koi ho hi nahi sakta.. unke jitna dherya to maine ajtak kisi mein dekha nahi… itne suljhe he, itne samajhdar, hai wo.. har baat ko samajhdari se sunte hai.. mujhe bahut achi tarah se samjhte hai.. meri har mushkil ki ghadi mein meri madat ki hai unhone… balki unka to itna hasmukh swabhav hai.. har waqt kuch na kuch mazak karte rehte hai… aur pata hai ja unhe pata chala mere talak ke bare mein aur kaise heth singh ne mujhe badnaam karne ki koshish ki thi to unhone kya kaha, ki, unke mann mein mere liye izzat aur badh gai hai… tu bata itne sache insaan khadoos ho sakte hai kya.??. ye gao walo ko to bahana chahiye collector sahab ko badnaam karne ka…tu bata tujhe kisne kaha aisa, main baat karungi use..

phooli(burst in to laughter): arey bas bas meri ma… kisi ne nahi ki collector sahib ki burai.. maine to bas yunhi keh diya th?… mazak kar rahi thi main

an andi also smiled at her friend's prank and hit her on head

anandi: phooli tu sudhregi nahi an kabhi?

Phooli:tujhe lagta hai kya?? ( and both friends started giggling)

Phooli:par sach mein agar tu keh rahi hai to wakai koi to baat hogi collector sahib mein… bhai ab to unse to milna hi padega.. kaha hai wo…

anandi: wo delhi gae hai do din ke liye..

phooli:acha to tabhi aisa muh bana ke baithi hai… miss kar rahi hai unko ..

anandi: nahi phooli.. ye baat nahi.. darasal mujhee lag raha ki wo jo kal hua us baat se naraz ho kar gae hai.. aur isilye unhone mujhe phone pe bhi nahi bataya….

Phooli: acha to madam ko phone nahi kiya isliye naraz hai nahi..

Anandi: phooli tujhe mazak sujh raha hai.. pata hai bapusa kal bahut gussa the aur unhone mujh se pucha ki kya main wakai mein collector sahib se shadi karna chahti hoon ya nahi..aur agar ye majboori mein karna chahti hoon to wo ye rishta tod denge

Phooli: to tune kya socha hai

Anandi: wahi to samajh nahi a raha ki kya karoon…

Phooli: bhai, teri har baat saaf saaf to keh rahi hai ki tu collector sahab pe puri fida hai , lekin agar phir bhi tu unse shadi na karna chahti to maine tujhse badi bewakuf nahi dekhi

Anandi: kya?

Phooli(hit her on her head): aur nahi to kya? Jab se ai hai tab se ek hi raaag alap rahi hai-collector sahab aise, collector sahab waise, collector sahab dukhi hongey, collector sahab mujhe bina bataye dilli chale gae… ab is se zyada aur kya hints chahti hai tu ki tujhe collector sahab se pyaar ho gaya hai ..

Anandi shocked to hear this …

Phooli (continued): ye pyaar nahi to kya hai anandi, ki, maine to collector sahab ko sirf khadoos kaha aur tune unke guno ki lambi list khol ke mere samne rakh di….

Anandi: nahi phooli aisi koi baat nahi hai… collector sahab bahut ache insaan hai, aur mein unki bahut izzat karti hoon.. janti hoon mein ki wo mujhse bahut pyaar karte hai par mere man mein unhe apna bahut acha dost manti hu…unki bahut izzat karti hu….. par pyar.. tu pagal hai..

Phooli: madam tu pyaar ke baaare mei janti hi kya hai.. sach kahu to jo chamak maine teri ankhon mein aj collector sahib ki tarif karte samay dekhi wo pehle kabhi nahi dekhi…jagiya ke liye bhi nahi

Anandi looked at phooli with disbelieving expression

Phooli: Anandi jagiya se tera pyar pyar nahi ek majbboori thi… bal vivah karwake hamare mata pita ne hamse keh diya ki ye tera beend hai, zindagi bhar usi ke sath guzarni hai..aur hamne bhi bina kuch soche samjhe use hi apni zindagi ka sach maan liya… bade hue to bas jo mata pita ne kaha tha use hi ssach mante rahe ….aur kisi ke bare mein socha hi nahi.. us majboori, zabardasti ko hi pyaar man ne lagi … par wo pyaar nahi tha anandi .. sacha pyar ka matlab hota hai ek dusre ko samajhna, par na jagiya tujhe, aur na hi tu jagiya ko kabhi samajh pai… lekin aj teri baton se saaf pata chal raha hai ki tu aur collector sahab ek dusre ko, ek dusre ki takleef ko kitne ache se samajhte ho… ek dusre ki izzat karte ho.. aur jis rishte mein izzat ho wahi sahi mayne mein sacha rishta hota hai……..aur tu maan na maan par tujhe collector sahab se pyaar ho gaya hai………

Anandi was left shocked after phooli's words…is she correct? Does she really love shiv? But she has never valued their relationship beyond friendship and respect for each other.. but what phooli was saying today didn't feel wrong? She definitely feel something different when she is with him.. but can she call that feeling love? ………….
