I agree with Kushi..
She loved Jagya...

and if Love means wanting to see the beloved always happy and accepting him with his/her mistakes and doing everything to maintain that... then Anandi truly loved Jagya.

Did jagya ever love Anandi...thats a clear no.

As long as Anandi held on to her love the relationship had a life ...but the moment her love started diminishing...it started to weaken and now its completely gone.

At this point Anandi is not in love with jagya. She dislikes him butbecauseshe once loved him, she is unable to hate him.

She likes Shiv now and eventually will fall in love with him, once she realizes that Shiv is someone who will respect her feelings and return much much more

One sentence touched my heart n moved me to express my gratitude for penning down it..

That Anandi once loved him...& hence cd not hate him...
(recalling mamma mia)
Just love the line...those who had done anything with their heart in this life cd know it..
Rest ramrakhi...
Thank you...

I would say, she did...! Not at first may be...Like all arranged marriages, she accepted him as her husband, tried to do what others said, made him her friend and slowly started liking him, when he did the same, though he was at first jelous of her new found relationship with his mother...
But with time both liked and loved hanging around eachother and got used to the idea of marriage...As time passed the elders made them believe that their life is forever bound and that thought alone made them try to see eachother differently...Their bond developed in infactuation...But for Jagya, that is all it was or it stopped to that...When they first met after years of seperation, he was attracted by her young beauty and he thought he was in love...He never deeply tried to go further and see into it and before he could, his dreams of becoming doctor made him go away from her...
But for Anandi, it did not stop there...She had not only accepted him as her husband, friend as well as soulmate at the young age, but also proved with all her heart by taking the shot meant for Jagya, knowing her life was incomplete without him...Her devotion, dedication and selfless love, even after he was away, shows that yes she loved him with all her heart and it might have grown stronger if only Jagya would have given her the time...She was ready to do anything for his sake and even started studying going against dadisa...This shows how commited she was as well...! His happiness meant a lot to her...She never cared for herself, when it came to Jagya...Tried everything possible to help him every step of he way and that is what love is...!

If one recalls anandi clearly states after divorce that she never really knew the meaning of love, but by the time she was mature enough to understand the meaning jagya went away. So she never got a chance to understand what it is and as prats said in her interview she is understanding it from shiv. Just again a academic question

I don't think love can be a result of conditioning. Her acceptance of him as her husband is definitely due to conditioning.Their marriage has only put them together in the same place at the same time. But the relationship which these two forged between themselves was a their own doing with bigger contribution coming from A and J recognising her efforts to make his life better and valuing her for the same.
When she first came to J's place as a child bride they squabbled a lot. Though Sumi and Bhairon didn't interfere in their relationship DS made sure they knew they are husband and wife and she made sure she respected that relationship. You can condition a person to accept a person's place in your life you can make them to respect that person but love can not be conditioned.

The thought of seeing him happy made her happy.A small example-Even during their playtime while all the other girls called her to play with them she preferred being the chief cheerleader of Jagya. That comes from love that is not conditioned.
Her love for him grew with her over the years. She did not get a chance to show him that she loves him like a woman loves a man.He did not give that chance to her.

A very thought provoking post and comments...
I think she loved him...as someone pointed out, love can not eb conditioned. She selflessly with her own choice always did everything for him...no one not even DS asked her to take bullet for him. It was not expected from a wife..a relationship...she did it on her own. Cheerleading for him...even fighting with DS to let him go and do his MBBS. He was going away from her but still she fought for his dreams. This can only be love. As a wife, a mere relationship, she could have been selfish and said "DS is also not agreeing...let it go" but she didn't.
I remember the epi where DS tells her - "you have burned your destiny with your own hands. If Jagya doesn't come back then it is on you." But later DS never said those words again because in her heart even she knew that Anandi just loved him..maybe even more than DS herself to let him go.
After ragging incident also, what she did for him. The way she stood for him. The way she said "I trust you Jagya, even if you are talking to a girl. Laut ke to tumhein mere paas hi aana hai."
Allt hose incidents, if she was just a mere wife, she could have been selfish. But she went beyond all that.
Also, I very much agree with posts before that in current time, Shiv is what she was to Jagya. Shiv loves her the same way. Unconditionally, selflessly where her hapiness and dreams matter the most. But a big difference is that where Jagya rejected Anandi's immense love forcing her to let go of her love and relationship, Anandi was always smarter from heart and head to value Shiv's affection. She will never reject the same love. She may take some time due to her grief, but will one day recognise that feeling from Shiv and the day she does that, she will cherish it more than her life. As a person, she will value his affection and that day, she will love him truly and not for a mere relationship.
