Sanchi's Intro - Such a let Down

The way Sanchi was introduced in BV I thought it was a let down. How come such an arrogant, impulsive, inconsiderate, judgmental, immature character frame was designed for Sanchi. There entire family talks with so much of affection and love to each other then how come she is so different?
Well I can understand that show has to go some family members not in favour of Anandi to add spices and twists but Sanchi could have done better. She could have her concerns but not the way she spoke today. A family where people have freedom to make decisions for themselves how a little sister could have such an influence on such personal decisions?

if it was so then Shiv should have called and informed her in first place?

Seriously what poor characterization!

I think today they were really trying to show how impulsive and disrespectful youth can be (i understand Gauri's attitude towards tradition). but sanchi's attitude came across as very unrealistic.

I agree, she was such a brat. How can a younger sister insist on finding a woman to marry for her brother, especially when he likes someone else? I found her to be overly possessive like CM, and too interfering. So far I am not liking the characterization of CM and Sanchi, both are too interfering in Shiv's life. They both need to back off.

I was very disappointed in her entry... thought she was way too over-the-top 🤢 But there is one theory that would make sense... maybe they put her in boarding school at a young age hoping that that would correct her spoiled demeanour (except it didn't)... and then spoiled her more during the holidays to compensate for their absence in her life during the year. That would make sense as a theory. It also fits because they seem distanced from her in some sense... like that parental relationship seems to be lacking... Irawati doesn't know how to handle her, and Alok shouts, but it doesn't help. And they all seem to treat her kinda like they're walking on eggshells around her ("Whatever will we do if she opposes the marriage!?"). It's like, jeez, people, she's just a kid... if Shiv was unhappy with the marriage or Anandi's morals were questionable or something, it'd be another matter... but here the elders have liked her and approved the match, so why should this kid's objection change anything?

Also, I perceive a similar distance between Shiv and his parents... he is obviously closer to Chhoti Maa and Daddu than to his actual mother and father. Perhaps the parents travelled a lot and didn't have much time for their kids? But Shiv is obviously still close to them and is grounded and has strong values... whereas Saanchi seems to be the opposite... she definitely cares about her family (and especially her brother... maybe they were close growing up because the parents weren't around much?), but she doesn't seem to be that close to them or to really share the values they personify :/
Actually, I might get jootis for saying this, but the whole Shekhar family seems quite disjointed to me at the moment... waiting to see how the CVs tie all the loose ends together. At the moment, they have far too many questions to answer, and they also really need to show more of Anandi and her journey and feelings than they do the Shekhar parivaar's light moments. They need to quit the comedy and OTT-ness for a bit and reveal more concrete stuff about the Shekhar family (like maybe show Chhoti Maa alone and thinking so that we get some insight into her reasons for disliking Anandi... or a conversation between Irawati and Alok that makes it clearer to us why Saanchi is the way she is). The CVs need to step up their game and make these characters more three-dimensional... if they did that and portrayed things more maturely (e.g. Saanchi could have LISTENED for TWO SECONDS instead of screeching down the phone and ruining all our eardrums... grrr 😡), the absence of the ruralness and the Jaitsar social issues wouldn't be so palpable, because we'd still be watching interesting, mature and well-thought-out material and would feel compelled to think about stuff... which to me is the essence of BV. Yesterday's episode felt like a waste of time, and almost like a different serial... even my dad was like, "They're losing the feel of this show... "

The way this character was portrayed , it looked like Shiv shud have taken permission from her to fall in love with Anandi and ask her to marry him.
Now because of this insensitive character Anandi will have to suffer for no fault of hers and she will be subjected to the gawar insults earlier thrown by Jagat-Gauri at her.
Really Shiv needs to control his lil sis or get her away from the pic ..

@ SiriuslySujal...Very nice analysis of Sanchi's character and the reasons behind her 'attitude problem' were also very valid ones...

@ postmaker...Agree with u 100%...Sanchi's character flummoxed me also..Difficult to connect this spoilt brat with the rest of the family...Maybe she has been spoilt by the mum and choti maa...Only time will tell what it is all about...Hope the Cvs don't spoil the pace of the show by introducing this run-of-the-mill sister-in-law's character...Maybe they will show Anandi getting round her soon...

@Mehek: I am perpetually trying to give the CVs the benefit of the doubt 😆 Somehow I have everlasting faith in them! Let's hope they don't mess this up...
On a side note... I really want Shiv's cousin (Mahi) to come to the area and fall for Phooli. That would be awesome 😃
