Why didn't they show Anandi's rape? - Page 2

I prefer to see jagya getting rape or molested . 🤣

sigh I didn't have the heart to watch it. I just skipped it and watched the precap.

i beleive that was the only show where a character so adored and loved got raped

Rape is too much. I would like to go with second option. As they want to maintain pavitrata of lead girl. Otherwise i belive its quite impossible to get a young girl back without being raped. In reality kidnappers first step is rape. But here it doesn matter if jagya make some1 pregnent but he should get back pure anandi.
But i think it would b hard 4 anandi to convince villegers abt her purity. Allover she is back frm where she started.

Yes, most Indian shows fight shy of showing the lead heroine getting sexually battered. However, I don't think it's because of the second point, people are much more aware and politically correct nowadays. 😊

2. The rape of the main female protagonist would have been unacceptable for the general Indian audience. The rape of Anandi would have tarnished her "purity" and would have made her less acceptable among the viewers. So Anandi experiences a near-rape but not a complete rape and thus she still keeps her ""purity" intact. A raped Anandi, like a lot other raped women in our society, would have been seen as someone "impure" and not worthy of playing the main protagonist.

I personally think it is the second reason. Though I feel greatly relieved that Anandi was not raped, when I come to think of how her rape would have probably diminished her acceptability, it makes me shudder to think about the general mentality of the larger audience about rape.

What do you guys think?
