It is a common notion in the industry that two lead actresses can never be good friends. And, Balika Vadhu's Pratyusha (who plays Anandi) and Anjum Farooki (who plays Gauri) seem to be treading the same path.

When we asked Anjum about her rapport with Pratyusha she states, "We are just friends and not best of friends. We hang out together but we are not closest of friends."Anjum says that it's not necessary for two actresses to be best friends. She says, "Its nothing like that but you can't be friends with everyone. In fact I really don't have any best friends on the sets, I am cordial to everyone but I haven't made best friends there. I would say that I go on sets to work and not to make any friends. There are no grudges between us but we are just friends and the feeling is mutual."

actually i think the directors mandate it in some cases -- so that onscreen persona doesnt get affected by off screen persona.
I saw an article on neha marda where she had been told not to talk to or socialize with dadisa or satyajit (actor who plays basant) and to keep a very long distance between them . This was to ensure that onscreen there is an emotional distance too because her character is at odds with them. She said that she only said "good morning" to both of them before acting and that is all she was allowed to do on set.
Nobody had any problems with her socializing with actors playing sumitra, bhairon and anandi.

anmol i agree on this!! but i think BV director has taken cue from the UT where off-screen eqns'd caused havoc in on-screen story!!😉😆

Agree! It doesn't make sense of carrying onscreen rivalry to off screen reality ...What has acting to do with real life living?

Thanks for posting !😕Don't get it that when actors can emote any emotion onscreen why do they have to show negative emotions off screen? Beats any sensible rationale the whole point of this article
