When have tracks linked up and made BIG sense? When have they shown something positive and STUCK to it?!
Sugna-Shyam thing with Tausa's scheming and plotting plus Tausa's terrorising Varun just because he was Sugna's illegitimate child was all pathetic, useless and meaningless! It was not even related to any issue. Just crazy vengeance!
Over-emphasis on Jagya in college, his and Gauri's misadventures and all ragging drama were pointless.It was shown he was ashamed of his roots and tried to hide about his village background, even changed his name, but nothing was done to resolve or address it. In fact later they showed he started having flashbacks of village and regretted leaving home or being cut off from family!
They've made a mockery of education too. So what type of girls need education? The ones who've been rejected in marriage? Gauri earlier and now Anandi? Sugna, Phooli etc., are all very happy and none was shown to even have a desire for education. Phooli got some education only due to her widow status. Even Gehna's sisters were shown married off the moment they turned 18 (one was about to be married as a kid but Gehna stopped it).
Are they against be-mel vivah? Really? They rather glorified it by showing a reformed Basant. Even Basant did not fully reform. He was seen battering his wife in previous months, when Gehna used to have bruises and marks on her body and used to sleep all alone outside the room. This happened just a few months ago. Gehna still puts up with Basant. So be-mel vivah and wife-beating, marital rape etc. are all okay and don't matter in long run. What sense have the BV makers made out of it all?
Is education so easy? I mean why is it that Jagdish's false information scam was never revealed? How come he was able to lie about his name and domicile? Don't college and university authorities check proof of identity? How come there are no classes, and medical education is shown like a cakewalk? Eating and chatting are the only things they do!
Is social reform also a child's play? Okay, why do we need to do social reform? Only if one's husband has rejected her? Personal life is ruined, so let's do social work to do timepass and get over the trauma! Isn't social work serious business, a serious commitment? Doesn't it involve proper planning, campaign, risks etc.? Anandi is getting people only because she is Maaji sa's beendni. Anandi's classes are also a joke. They never showed her seriously taking up issues or explaining importance of learning or its practical use in real life.
Anandi herself is only 12th pass. So is it enough? If not college, why not at least a correspondence course? Did you see the books Shyamu gave her? They were colourful primary school kids' SST books! Anandi wants others to learn, but is herself always engaged in housework or secretly observing others and falls asleep or has flashbacks of Jagya when she herself holds a book in her hand while lying on bed, leafing through it as if it were a magazine!! If she herself can't concentrate then how does she expect others to study? If you can't practise then why preach?!
Why is Sumitra studying? Does she realise importance of learning? Or is it primarily to give support to Anandi and see to it that she does not feel discouraged? Dil rakhne ke liye padh rahi hai? What about scenes between her and Bhairon? Is this why you need education? To spice up love life and romance each other on pretext of helping in homework?
What sense does it all make? How are they underlining importance and need of education?
In past, having Kalyani's sister did not make any difference. Kalyani never changed and everything went back to square one once Badi maasi left. Gehna-Niranjan track was also useless. Basant ''reformed'' temporarily only. Plus, what sense did it make? That never engage interaction with males otherwise your DIL might fall for someone else or your son might feel that his wife is having an affair? Did Gehna carry on with her singing? She neither started her own music classes, nor does she sing at local mandir or even at home during puja! At least in KSBKBT, Gayatri who was fond of dancing, got permission to start her own dance school. Baa who was great at stitching and tailoring, got to become a designer and make something of her talent even at late age.
What sense did Gehna or her music lessons ultimately make in BV? Just a way to show possibility of an affair or to show some masala in her married life?
Khajaan Singh ultimately became a lawbreaker and corrupt businessman and got sent to jail, simply because he wanted to make more money and show to DS that he was no less. He thought by giving expensive gifts he will see to it his daughter gets respect. What sense did it all make? In fact, they reaffirmed that loading in-laws with gifts and paying life-long dowry in the form of gifts was the way to keep girl happy and her status high in her in-laws' house.
Gauri's parents literally selling her off and then throwing her at Singh haveli even after her marriage was annulled or Bhago refusing to accept Anandi, scolding her and telling her that she is dead for them and her real home is her saasra only - what BIG sense did it all make? That marriage is the only dead end for a girl's life? Parents have no right over daughter and daughter has got nothing to do with her parents and natal home once she gets married?
Anandi's replies to her mother - what were they? A girl has to serve her in-laws and their interests even if her husband has deserted her?
Anandi seeing to it that Jagya doesn't get harsh treatment or severe punishment, refusing to take him to court, funding him and keeping him informed of family well-being etc. What sense does it make? She still thinks her Jagya will be back and this Jagat thing is just temporary! Or she is still in love with Jagya! What BIG SENSE is all of this making?
She has not completely detached herself from him, she is not indifferent to him. Yet she pretends to be okay, accepting of the fact he will not come back to her and pretends she is moving on? Does it mean a woman should keep serving her husband and his interests even if he has left her, deserted her and kicked her out of his life?
Sugna preserving rakhis for Jagya or making him realise what he's missing. What is this? A way to prepare foundation for Jagya's redemption?!
What sense did little Jagya's tamasha under Sundar's influence make? Did it sensitise Bhairon-Sumitra of their failed and faulty upbringing? Did it make them more vigilant and led them to discipline Jagya or instil any values or sense of character in him? NO! They were again clueless when their boy kept secretly visiting Anandi or when he kept cheating them about his escapades in Mumbai!
And are they REALLY against child marriage? So far, not a single child marriage has COMPLETELY failed in BV. The actual ugly realities of child marriage have not been shown. Lal Singh is happily living with his wife, without any problem. So does it mean Jagya's issue is more about upbringing rather than child marriage?
Even child marriage is okay, just send the girl back to her parents once she attains puberty so that she does not become pregnant at a young age. Bring her back as DIL the day she turns 18! She will live happily as a well-adjusted DIL and wife! Even education is not needed if the husband does not leave her or is able to effectively cheat her, keeping her in dark for years altogether.
What is the main problem in child marriage? Is it only the issue of underage mothers/teenage pregnancy? Bas? Is that all that there is to this issue?
What sense did Teepri track make? In fact they used Teepri to ruin Anandi and bring another character called Gauri. I did not see any character in BV learn anything from Teepri's fate. Teepri could also be seen as a woman whose husband was not able to ''control'' her and didn't know what his wife was doing in someone else's house in another village!
I don't think everything has made BIG SENSE or pieces have made some beautiful picture once taken together!
Yes we in the forum are much less in number compared to viewers. This forum was active earlier, whereas the viewers of this show had drastically decreased many times in the past and just 2-3 months ago this show had even dropped out of top 15 on TRP chart.
People staying in or out of the forum make little difference. Even in real life, people are not going to be taken for a ride. They've left watching this show earlier too.
Not just crappy two weeks. This show has shown a lot of crappy things for several months in last 3 years and merely used serious social issues to create masaledaar drama.
I don't watch other shows, but I know at least they are not pretentious. They don't give out any morals at the end or claim to address any issues. They wear their stupidity on their sleeve and are not hiding behind any veneer or garb!
I think we've laughed it out for a long time. I don't know about others, but if I need to laugh only, then I would watch a comedy or a cartoon or perhaps crazy anchors on news channels, rather than a show like this. I don't think we watch BV for laughs. Honestly speaking it has NEVER taken a FIRM stand on issues. They've always handled things with kid gloves and given cheap drama and at times even glorified and justified social evils!
Don't worry about the forum dear. Even if some people stay in it, it is not going to boost TRPs or reduce the obvious threat to its #1 position.
