She accepted the marriage because she has understood that the more ppl force Jagya to return to her, the more he resents her. Only Ds and Anandi have a full realization of the situation. That is why they are allowing Jagya and Gauri to have their way for now. Not because of any legal implications, but because they want to bring Jagya back.

Secondly Anandi is not playing with the law, Jagya is. He is the one who is guilty of fraud, bigamy and cheating. It is quite funny to see you blaming the wronged wife for playing with the law, instead of laying the blame where it lies - at the door of the cheating husband.

When the law leaves the discretion in the hands of the wife to prosecute a husband, it is not because the law makes it a bounden duty of the wife to bring the husband to justice, but because it empowers her to take all suitable recourses to action in order to either preserve her marriage or get justice.

Even if she were to file for a divorce, the first act of the Metropolitan/Family Court would be to ask the two of them to go in for marriage counselling and try to rebuild their relationship. Only after one year of counselling and a certificate from the counselor that the marriage is irretrievably broke will the judge consider the petition for divorce. So why should Anandi not try to rebuild her marriage?

I think you all simply want to blame Anandi for her situation, why did she not study when her husband told her that he did not want her to study further after she topped the state. Why did she not speak up for 5 years when she thought that by stopping her studies, she would be able to win back his trust. Why is she crying because her husband is sleeping with another woman. Why is she not going out of the house? Why is she not filing a case. And if nothing else, why is she being mahaan. Karo to mushkil, na karo to mushkil.

She is not dumb she is a girl with a heart that these two apparently dissected in one of their lab experiments or exchanged it with that of a frog's.

I can write more but the whole idea of being totally and completely self centered nature justified upsets me...R we supposed to tightly close our eyes to the misery around and think only about our happiness. This is said to be normal which scares me. If gauri had taken off to Mumbai and did not care about Anandi her act can be called normal because out of sight is out of mind. To be in the place, to see the misery that has been let loose and for which she has been a silent partner and yet not to feel about it is scary...
