one thing i dont understand is how come Gauri doesnt know about any customs ...her mother must be following them as welll...her mother seems to know all customs...agreed that she must be in city for studies but now she sees ladies in house dont sit and eat with their hubbies whts the problem in following them...and this thing is hard to miss

It could very well be that her mother isnt, since she is not living with her saas i guess she probably does not follow a lot of the customs although she does know of them.

I am sure if DS was not in the house, even her bahus would not follow a lot of the rules and customs that are in the haveli

The thing that she did not know the customs surprised me too

Her parents are of the same community and if they believed in child marriage then they would have been very conservative...So how she finds all this strange, she would have been used to it from childhood...and it is very easy to understand in one glance that the singh parivaar is very very conservative too

I don't think she needs to follow all this but her total ignorance to all this is strange. May be she always lived in a different planet😆

Moreover she can see her sasuma, taisa too standing, so since she consider herself a part of family and not guest, won't she feel akward to start food without them...seriously ladki ka logic poora sarvanash ho gaya shaadi ke baad...It would have been better if she has asked,"sasuma aap beit kar kaana kyun nahi kaa rahe ho" and dadisa explains the rivaaz of the house...but if she was so sensible she won't be in this mess, she would have been happily studying MS and courting her NRI boyfriend

I think gauri should be asked to get into the beendni kinda role like anandi (as shes very keen to be a part of the family) where as Anandi should be given all liberty & scope to carve out her future. Also it would be good to see her out of her usual attire.. n then probably Jagya would understand.. how mean he was..😉

Ya Gauri get ready for privelages of singh parivar bahu-here they are-
1) Eating yummy meals laced with jhoota of your husband.
2)Washing dirty clothes of your husband.
3)staying in kothri during mc time and cooking on chuula-wow
4)Making cups and cuos of adrak chai and nashta for every passerby of singh parivar.,without having to get a sip.
5)Standing whole day and evening head bent and face partially covered with pallu.
6)Listen to dokri's laments about how good a bahu she was and haow bad a bahu u are!!
7)making chutneys,vadis,papads,achar in your rest time.
In short dr gauri your freedom days are outnumbered-get ready for some emotional atyachaar!!!
