divmath and
Suchi-NivReniac:i agree with both of you, Divmath, your very much right in saying that Jagya has the right to choose his life partner, but like suchi said, he shouldnt forget that if not for Anandi and her love for him, he wouldnt even be Alive now, if it werent for Anandi, he wouldnt be studying medicine right now, but would be studying how to cultivate plants and working on his ancestors land doing kheti baadi..
as much as i sympathize with his dilemma, If not for his betrayal to Anandi and Gauri, ungratefulness for the sacrifices that Anandi has done for HIM AND HIS FAMILY's happiness, i wouldnt hate him so much.
UH... did u even see his attitude towards Anandi and Phuli yesterday? he didnt even FLINCH wen dadisa was taunting the poor girls so badly. didnt even look at phooli with kindness, just for the sake of addressing her he spoke to her. He could have asked his dadisa to stop critisising the girls so much. but no, he was almost as if enjoying every bitter word.
That very moment i felt that he very much has the right to fall in love and choose his life partner, but NOT GAURI. He doesnt deserve Gauri in any way. Infact, seeing his attitude with everyone, i think he doesnt REALLY love gauri. its just attraction.
Question is WHOM DO WE BLAME FOR HIS ATTITUDE?
1. His Dadisa? she is just doing what her ancestors have been doing, and is not ready to compromise with her culture for modernity,
2. The society? they too are following ages old customs and traditions passed down from generations and fear that if they stop doing so, the very essence of their culture will vanish.
And yet these very two are to blame for his behaviour, for spoiling him and giving him everythin he asked for, for belittling and disrespecting women infront of him thus teaching him to disregard them. This Jagya is new and different. This is not Jagdish. This new face is Jagat.
