Highlights : Face-off b/w Maasa and Mahavir
Maasa fears for her family
Maasa's family worries about her.
Maasa enters the haveli, all the while, remembering scenes from the past. Once she enters the haveli, Mahavir spots her and is happy. He comes down and taunts Maasa that she had to eventually come to him. Maasa tells him that she only came to return his "gift". She throws the bangles at him. She tells Mahavir that she is no more the weak and helpless woman she used to be. She is now rich and powerful. She had a strong family that is ready to do her bidding.
Mahavir tells Maasa that he never thought her to be weak. She was strong even back then, that is the only reason she was able to escape from his grip. He tells Maasa that he searched for her high and low. He was sure that she would follow all customs and mourn her husband's death for a year in a dingy room somewhere. He would have continued to look for her, but he found a woman who was willing to live with him and give him "happiness". He then decided to let things be.
Mahavir says that he had forgotten all about maasa and had moved on in life, until her name was brought up to him. Then all the past memories came rushing forward. Maasa asks him who brought up her name. Mahavir says it was Jagya and Anandi. They happily told him that they were related. Maasa says there is no relationship between them. Mahavir says his family blood runs in her sons and grandchildren. Maasa tells him that all ties were broken the night she had to run away from Mahavir with her sons. Mahavir tells Maasa that he will avenge his insult. Maasa warns him not to bother her, else he will pay heavily. She leaves.
On the way home, Maasa thinks about all that Mahavir told her and gets very upset. She goes to a temple and cries in front of God asking what she did wrong that she is being punished so severely. This demon called Mahavir will not leave her alone now. He will not leave her family alone. How will she protect them. She fears for her family and cries. She says that she is unable to answer her family's questions as she fears that if her sons learn the truth, they will set out to kill Mahavir. She cries and pleads with God to do something and help her.
At home, Basanth returns worried, after looking for Maasa everywhere. Gehna and Sumitra then tell him about the present from Nagore for Maasa that arrived the previous day. Basanth yells at them for not telling him earlier. Just then Maasa enters, soaking wet from the rain. Basanth asks her where she was and she tells him that she need not tell him. She looks at all the family members looking at her with questioning eyes. She yells at them to leave her alone and go about their work. Basanth feels helpless..
