DV started of as one helluva selfish character. He got what he wanted by charm, fear, manipulation, or force (wat's the hindi saying saam-daam, dhand, bhed). And nobody and nothing could touch him.

But, Amoli slowly n surely became his Achilles' heel...at first it was lust, but the more she fought the greater grew his obsession to the point where he prioritizes her and his need for her above everything else... in the beginning, he didn't want his passion intervening wit his personal/family life...later he didn't give a damn...so, he sacrificed first Chandana ka future then later Urmilla n radhe, his most loyal gadhe, to his obsession...marriage to Amoli made him secure on the level that he thinks that she is legally his & can't be anybody else's now...so, the battle is purely btwn himself n Amoli and btwn them, he is willing to sacrifice himself for her (be it poison or jail or letting go spend life alone). The only person who can come btwn them is Amoli ka willpower not even his shadow na...

At the first mahapanchayat, he was distracted with the impact his actions may have on Amoli and kinda indifferent except to ensure that he retained his power. So, he let the woman's husband set her punishment... In the second instance, as he admitted to his mother - he choose the option that protected his junoon/obssession/chahaat... the one thing he cannot loose...

In the 3rd instance, I think he was blindsighted by Puny n namak- haram Dhaani. He would have picked up on Dhaani's imminent betrayal on the phone had Amoli's presence (entering the room) not distracted him. The thought of her pregnant by someone else was also weighing on him whether he wanted to admit or not. Also, Amoli herself eroded his power at the panchyat by having them stone him at the last one... So, his power before the panch was muted by her.... Had they truly started throwing then he would have fought them on a physical level by himself like a sher protecting cub because he distractedly fell into Puneet-Dhani ka chakraview... (Personally think CVs made mistake becoz they want him for now to retain the softy image...if janwar comes out then bye bye Amoliji)

Later at the mansion, he was in full force (power back) becoz 1) He or rather Amoli was in the right n 2)He has time to punish them at leisure now whilst he did not have that luxury in the moment at mahapanchayat.

As for mataji n DV - they hav oddd relationship where she sets down the law wit him n he defies it if it doesn't suit him...they r kinda turn a blind eye to each other's misdeeds outta respect/love

His acceptance of her baby was a smart move to ensure she did not leave him for the baby daddy

Also, note he tortured Puny in private not before Amoli, who prefers his softer side

P.S. ..if ghade return then DV will have quandry (Amoli or her respect/attraction for "reformed" DV). If he opts for the later then he will gamble on her growing softness for him 😈 If he opts for the former then we will have Mr. Devil a la Bairi Piya in full force (my preference) 😈 😈 😈

.....i too loved that scene when he slits puny's arm....Amoli aag hai.....and then later
on the style with which he gets down from the car to punch the jailor....just so loved it.

@Sin - i didn't buy the Ronnie thing becoz they were never in the same frame together especially not after that dynamite scene where he tells her that he will come at her in an unexpected way as he goes wit the police... uffff that was an amazing episode 👏

And he knows that Amoli lyks his "Ronny" Romeo (love this tag) persona, so he is being "Ronny" these dayz 😉 The way he flirts wit her, but makes her the one in the "wrong" n himself the "victim" 😆 😆 😆

All his suffering is and has been due 2 amoli................. remember when he bowed 2 madhura, when she put amoli on the line.............. dv criedddddd and did tell maaata g tht he became helpless when tht behuda aurat ( madhura ) put amoli on the line.......... He was a true devil then but still cried and accepted tht he became helpless.

3. Rememebr when amoli was marrried 2 radhey and dv made an entry and then left in the end posing as if he has been defeated by bhashan queen...................... he did pose as being helpless. Soooooo he can b wht he want and whenever he wants.

SO darlingssssssssss ! there r numberless moments when he has been handicapped butttttttt all these situations involve amoli one way or another................... He has been transformed so obviouslyyyyyyyyyyy level of helplessness wud differ.

No matter how many times he has been shown hadicapped as u put it....he has always put Amoli's safety beyond anything....and he is willing to die or kill for her.....using every resource he got...so that 28th July scene just doesnt fit....coz he always looses from Amoli or for Amoli...but never lets anything harm her.....and during that scene she was sentenced to death and Dv just stood there...desperate...not able to do anything...out of character dont u think so???

Last but nt the least???????. If u luv sumone ???? luv 2 the core. So I luv him and luv all his avataarsssssssssssss???????? He will turn into anyyyyyyyy according 2 the situation so plzzzzzzzzzz hav faith in him .

But i think your words are kind of what is going through all are minds. im beginning to think that the creatives have left a bit of a loop whole when it comes to dvs character. its like his character contradicts himself. i.e in the panchayat he was helpless but when the panch party came to apologize he was all harsh with them same with dadi ma or his mother - he said nothing to her when she went and spillt the beans to amoli yet in fridays episode he was fuming at her ghar ki issat comment.
i'm kind of loosing perception of dv now..i cant see weather he is thakur dv..power, stature, dominance or just amoli's lover..well wana be lover?? -- i don't seem to understand the idea?? are they trying to show that there is a mix of dv like a side which is thakur dv..dominant and a side which is only amolis digvijay? or has he totally gone soft in love?? changed and left the thakurpan for good. ?? too much thinking about it really and Ive not really left you with an answer just more questions /😉
