Old Rock Day, despite some misconception, is not a day of celebrating classic Rock n' Roll tunes of days gone by but is, in fact, the day that Geologists and amateur rock enthusiasts take it upon themselves to show their appreciation of all things fossilised and stony.

The exact origins of this day are unclear and unconfirmed but there has been a suggestion that this day was first created by the cartoon family known as The Flintstones. Nobody from The Flintstones however was available for comment.

This is also the day when young children are often encouraged to go out and discover their first "pet rock. It is a day that they can use to bond with their "pet and cement the very beginning of their lengthy future relationship. Unlike with other pets, "pet rocks never ever grow old or die.

Other festivities on this day include painting and decorating the "faces of rocks and of gathering together attractive pebbles and stones to make inexpensive and original pieces of jewellery.

It is also the day that the pastime of building a "rock garden is actively encouraged. Some towns and villages around the world hold competitions on this day to find the best decorated "rock garden.

I'm Not Going To Take It Anymore Day is when we as human beings fight back against the injustices inflicted upon us, to show that we cannot be controlled nor contained like wild animals. To show that we have our own lives and our own prerogatives.

The Rebellious History Of I'm Not Going To Take It Anymore Day

Civilians and labor workers have all had their fair share of wrongdoings made upon them, and most of them get to the point that they start a rebellion against their higher ups. For Example, the Haitian Rebellion: On 22 August, 1791, the slaves of Saint Domingue rose in revolt and plunged the colony into civil war. The signal to begin the revolt was given by Dutty Boukman, a high priest of voodoo and leader of the Maroon slaves, during a religious ceremony at Bois Caman, on the night of August 14th. Within the next ten days, slaves had taken control of the entire Northern Province in an unprecedented slave revolt. Whites kept control of only a few isolated, fortified camps.

The slaves sought revenge on their masters through "pillage, rape, torture, mutilation, and death. Because the plantation owners had long feared a revolt like this, they were well armed and prepared to defend themselves. Nonetheless, within weeks, the number of slaves who joined the revolt reached approximately 100,000. Within the next two months, as the violence escalated, the slaves killed 4,000 whites and burned or destroyed 180 sugar plantations and hundreds of coffee and indigo plantations. Now, back to modern times. We here in the modern era have had many protests throughout the years, but none have been so ridiculous and varied as the ones in current years as we all have seen in some way or another.

How to celebrate or revolt on I'm Not Going To Take It Anymore Day

Arrive late for work by putting yourself first, and spend some time buying yourself a present when you should be at your office or factory.

Don't open any letters that look suspiciously like bills. And if you've always been cheerful and polite, but you've also never felt truly appreciated, then this is the day for the worm to turn. Be grumpy and non-communicative all day.

You could arrange mass protests, too. This could be customers complaining about bank charges at their bank, or people angry at their energy company for yet another huge price hike. I'm Not Going To Take It Anymore Day is also a perfect day for a strike!

History of Bobblehead Day

Bobbleheads first came onto the scene over 100 years ago, being composed of a simple doll with a head attached by a spring, creating that signature bobble-head action. The first of these recognizable toys was actually thought to have been created in the mid 1800's, when plaster cats with bobbing heads were all the rage. In the 1920's the bobblehead came to sports, each being made exactly like the other. In the 1930's the love of these died off, only to be reborn in the 1960's when they started producing custom faces representing the most popular players of the time.
