Ram has not grown mentally since the day of his proposal to V. I think they were 18, I assume. He still likes the idea of love, for him sadly it still looks purely physical. There is no trust, respect connected to his concept of love. He seems to have an illusion of fluency where he over estimates his abilities hence confirming his smartness and intelligence again and again despite his actual ability. He also seems to cherry pick on information that fits his view of people. He likes to interpret information based on what he believes in. Hence he chose to believe whatever N and V says since he believes they will never break his trust. Because of this he misses to consider the range of possibilities of the situation.
