Are rich people always like this?

Well I'm talking about the scene yesterday where Shivina refused to let Ishaan call her Maami by her relationship with the kid, and said Shivina is cool. And even Ram, who respects his relations, wasn't comfortable with Ishaan calling him Mausaji. He preferred RK over it.

Like what's the big deal about kids calling by their actual relationship? It is a little annoying, that they don't wanna sound aged since a kid will be calling them aunt and uncle, but would prefer to be called by their names, are they in an office atmosphere, working with Ishaan that they prefer a not so personal way?

It's not something people should encourage in a family. Teaching kids about relatives and the respect that need to be given to them is important in our Indian culture. The way Ram and Shivina behaved is definitely not advisable and appreciable. I know it may not be a big deal according to many here. But as a viewer, I found this quite annoying. Not targeting richer classes here. But since they both are shown the same way, It made me wonder if its how in reality.

This is not rich people problem. Like you said it's aging problem. Ram in his 40s married yet can't imagine himself as mamu chachu. But I think if shivina have a kid ram will be ecstatic and let them call her mamu. Take it as his double standards or whatever 😂 regarding shivi she's always silly.

Also isn't respect should be from heart and not by calling someone as the relationship? What if ishan calls him uncle but don't treat him right?

Bold@ I do agree with that.

Oh yeah double standards exists. When it comes to our own siblings and cousins, we don't have much issue to be called as uncle and aunt. If it's a little distant or from in law's side, maybe it doesn't feel right for them, and it becomes an age problem there, in specific.

I don't think it's being rich that matters here... Ram always consideres himself as young, and acc to the Will, he is supposedly only 34🤣

Anyways... maybe he would have felt mausaji makes him sound old, and Shivi is quite young, calling her maami made her feel weird.

I get it as I call my own aunt and uncle by their name, because they are young... my aunt felt that calling her maami made her feel old.

Haha…I am being called mami and chachi from when I was 15🤣 again,

I have called my mamas and chachis and chachus with relationship status when they were in 7/8/10 th classes🤣 when I was a kid…

My bhabi wasn’t keen on being called mami /chachi by our nephews and nieces at first, and insisted on being called by name😆 as she felt little odd being called aunty … but kids grew on her, now she would freak out if someone younger to her calls her by name..😆

It all depends on family, and individual choice… I guess…🤷‍♀️

Also, I think it is more about being age conscious😆 before a proper bond is established… once it does, it doesn’t matter…😀

Its not just about being rich alone. My aunt has a granddaughter who is almost 25 now. She ensured the girl called her amma which means mother in Kannada 😆 and this was a long time ago and we were like what's wrong with her? Now its becoming a trend of sorts. So not surprised.
