Popular award is given by looking at the fanbase of an actor. And NM has more fanbase then DP which is a fact.

Why is it NM vs DP? They weren’t competing against each other, right? NM was competing against other actors playing lead roles, and DP (if she was nominated) against other female characters, it is not like these award shows present awards only male actors.


Probably ITV is the one industry where women characters have more prominence than men, because their target audience is women,

Toxic FD cant accept a character like Priya ... DP nailed her perfectly ... she deserves an award ... that's all

It was NM vs DP for tirchi. She is not a admirer of NM. She think that DP deserves the award more than NM for bade. That's why i said that NM got it bcz he has more fans since it was popular award.

As i said i understand the sentiment but the thing is people can't get over the charms of feeble bahu.

But i think rupali who got the popular actress was deserving as well. She is also rocking that role of a middle age uneducated woman of three children trying to be independent and find love after a divorce.

Fangirling is a phenomenon but fanboying is not. Thats not a patriarchal thing, it has got to do with the female psyche. Those who vote for NM comprise those who appreciate his acting in this show, those who fangirl him & those who do both. DP will have much fewer in the 2nd category, not because she is a lesser actor but coz she will never have an army of fanboys coz they dont really exist in such numbers.

So when it comes to popularity via votes, the male actors esp hot ones will hv this advantage over the female actors hot or not.
