Is Priya’s character inspired by Kashaf?

Saw a video on IG showing Priya and in bgm, it was the voice of Kashaf - lead from zindagi Gulzar hai. Haven’t seen the show, so went to Wikipedia and read about it. It seems that Priya’s and Kashaf’s characters are exactly the same. I mean their background story is exactly the same. Didn’t know about this.

There was a monologue of priya in early days and everyone was like omg thats Kashaf. i think it was regarding her father (forgot what was that exactly). Kashaf was amazing, her monologues, diary entries are ❤️ especially when she writes about zaroon-
