I really like the fact that he sees his relationship and Shivi's relationship separately. He is not like yeh rishta khatam toh hum bhi khatam. He doesn't connect the two in any way. They are independent of each other for him. Or this might be because Shivi-Akki don't get that much screen space

I don't think so that's the reason. He has always seen his marriage with Priya separately from akki-shivi marriage.

I mean even when Priya got them married and they both decided to end their marriage no one ever said this might also effective akki-shivi marriage although akki's condition of Priya marriage was the reason why Ram married priya. To us hisab se us time ram priya ke sath annulment ke bare mein soch raha hai ye jante hue it won't effect shivina's marriage. Same way right now vo Akshay shivina ke divorce ko apni shadi se nhi jodra. But he thinks that Priya can do that.
