Agree with all your points specially regarding the apology. Yes Ram definitely deserve an apology from her. In fact she should have talked properly to him. Whatever maybe the circumstances, her helping Shivina run away and getting her married in secret was wrong in every way. Frankly Priya didn't even give Ram some time to come and tell her the truth. Moreover I think makers messed up a lot in this track. Priya's character was never like this. I mean she would never support eloping but all of a sudden she planned all this ( don't get me started about how badly this soppy plan was executed)

There are so many characters and so many dialogues given to them that they forget to add depth to characters. You don't know their motives, why they are doing what? Bass everyone is turned into saint/villian as per the requirement of sequence. I still don't know what Ram's friends think of Priya or why Nandini is doing what she is doing

They should seriously focus properly on Ram-Priya. We don't even get proper scenes of them, they are just always entangled in this mess of misunderstandings.

And regarding her behaviour in this track, I think she does have an inferiority complex and above everything is very scared of rejection. She just cannot believe or accept that someone can actually like her or fall for her. She just doesn't accept that she might be important for Ram. Today she herself was thinking she isn't important enough for him to taunt her and when he does she just walks away. Even when he says He didn't have the papers made, she doesn't believe him. I mean why would he lie?? and now she just signed them😵 I feel like she is too scared to directly hear from him that he doesn't want her in his life. So she doesn't let him speak only. Sara mamla nipta ke jaa rahi hai so taht Ram doesn't get the chance to reject her or throw her out.

@bold: You're right. It exactly felt like that. Like if you want to be angry, keep being angry. I am going away from your life. At this point, I want Priya to say sorry more for my peace of mind than Ram's😆

@blue part: Right again! Priya's behavior is like "you cannot fire me. I quit". And somewhere I feel Nandini has understood her weak points and keeps using them to her benefit.

Nobody could have ever guessed that Ram could not come back to mandap because of Prawn allergy. Similarly , it would be impossible for Priya to guess Ram did not tell her about Raj, because he did not want to see her defeated , yet another time due to the step family. Now that a man can do so much for a girl he hardly knows for 20-30 days, is something Priya would not be able to digest even when explicitly told. There is no way she will be able to guess the correct reason. It is only natural for her to think Ram did not trust her enough that she would fight for what is right and go against her family and chose Ram over them.

About annulment papers, just before Priya met Ram in the office, she had a one to one convo with Nandini. Nandini told Priya she has abolutely no issues about Akki-Shivi marraige and it is Ram who wants it cancelled. So Priya won't doubt Nandini.. And when she asked Ram, if not you then whom would you blame , he had no answers. I understand ram did not want to name Nandini or anyone , but he could have atleast said, listen Miss Priya I don't know who made this annulments papers, but the fact of the matter is I don't want the marriage nullified. Vishwas karna hai karo , varna bhaad me jao 😂

About Priya

I completely agree, one heartfelt apology from Priya, and Ram would probably burn the papers just as he burnt the prenup.. From Ram's point of view , he would just be more hurt that was he not worthy enough, that Priya didn't even apologize, did this marriage mean nothing to Priya that she signed the papers without any resistance?

But from Priya's point of view , she understands the gravity of what she has done to Ram's trust. She owns this mistake, and is ready for the punishment. Her monologue in the temple where she says, "Zindagi bhar apne pita ki nafrat sahi, ab Mr Kapoor ki sahungi" shows her state of mind.

She does not want Ram's forgiveness. She has decided Ram is gonna hate her for life for this, and she is ready to take that because she deserves it ..

Her way of saying sorry, is to free Ram from this unwanted relationship. In her head, she thinks he hates her , wants to nullify the marriage, and the least she can do now is to sign the papers without any resistance..

Also IMO one of the biggest personality flaw in Priya is she cannot process, and articulate any of her emotions only exception being anger. That emotion she articulates very well, standing up for her rights , fighting for it etc, life had taught it in the hard way..

But other than that, she can't express any other emotion through words. She will not be able to say " Thank you Mr Kapoor. This means the worlds to me. I am forever grateful" Her way of saying Thank you would be by probably cooking for him , his friends, making a paper swan etc.

Similarly , I don't think we would ever get an "I love you" from her. It would take a melodramatic ITV accident to get that out of her system.😂

Conclusion

In Priya's case it would always be actions speak louder than words. but unfortunately it doesn't work much in real life. In general , people expect you to speak, to express, and no matter how much you care for them through gestures and actions, words outweigh..

Brinda and Twinkle understand this trait of Priya. And soon Ram would understand too.

But right now, he has all the rights to feel angry, hurt, cheated ,not valued etc etc.

Also like you mentioned we as an audience , really need to get ,to spend more time with Priya. Ram is an open book of emotions .We always get to see what he feels at any point in time.

But that rarely happens in case of Priya. She just got answers to some mysterious questions, just recovered from a deadly allergy, got rightfully reprimanded by Ram for elopement drama , her marriage is breaking, she must be so exhausted physically and mentally.

She wants to show the world , she is ok. Nothing happened. All is good. Fine........

But she is a human too. She must be going through a plethora of emotions from within, which I as an audience want to see and experience.

Priya is a complicated character, She is not one dimensional. A diary would have been so useful, but then it would appear a blatant copy of ZGH, but we surely require more monologues, and solo Priya scenes otherwise the distance between Priya and audience will only widen ....

We all know Ram and Priya are both at fault here. Problem is that makers give more screentime to Ram, so we know what is he thinking. While with Priya, we only see her reacting and never get to know what is she thinking. Which makes her unlikable.

The thing is that there is a MASSIVE communication gap between Ram and Priya. They hardly have heart-to-heart talks with each other.. since the last couple weeks the only interaction between them has been of arguments and half-spoken words.

Ram understands Priya much better than Priya has understood Ram. Priya has a lot of trust issues, inferiority complex, and prejudices about people (esp men) which makes her difficult to try to understand the person that Ram is. She is pessimistic in many ways and automatically assumes the worst.. (God.. I relate to her in this coz I am myself a bit like that many a times..lol) . I totally agree with the other posters here that we need to get glimpses of Priya's mind and her thoughts from time to time so that we can connect to her and understand her better.

Priya's is such a complicated , flawed character that I absolutely love her. Only if makers put more effort into her character development, it can be one of the most revolutionary FL characters of ITV ever.

I was so excited for this show, and literally joined this place for the same.

But all I see is the show getting ruined more and more before my eyes 💔

I had barely recovered from that stupid Prawn drama, that the makers had to come up with this weird illogical Paneer allergy.. 😂

I stalk the forum sometimes but didn't watch the episodes regularly.. just yesterday I caught up with the last few episodes and clips

Honestly I got so disappointed in the show.. kya expect kiya aur kya mil raha hai 😔 This Shikki marriage has been such an exhausting track gosh. A mountain of misunderstandings and a truckload of people plotting against Ram-Priya is getting too much.. so much negativity in just 2 months of the show 😔

When will we get a normal track showing the progression of our leads' relationship?
