Kudos to you for making this post. I feel this topic is so less often talked about in Indian films and ITV. Why do people just talk about finding ways to a mans heart. Isnt winning a women’s heart after marriage equally important, be it in love marriage or arranged? I do know the reason for this is toxic in-laws family, and sometimes your own family and friends, who give more importance to winning a mans heart through his stomach. This is more so coz in our society, men are considered more hard working, stress bearing and least bothered about household scenarios. Hence it’s important to find ways to get your work done from them while the women has to only live with and bear her in-laws taunts after marriage.
Coming to the topic, yes Ram by all means is proving his mettle of being the best husband. He understood that his PJ’s or small actions won’t help bring smile on Priya’s face. Like I said in my previous comments, Priya isn’t a usual Indian girl. She’s strong and smart but not bubbly from her appearance that everyone can win her or impress her that easily. She isn’t a puppet laughing around and helping people solve their problems by being a sacrificial goat or something. She’s not the one to keep sacrificing her self-respect over others happiness just to prove that she’s a worthy women or mother or daughter or DIL, or sister or even wife. She’s ready to sacrifice but only when needed, she’s blunt to call a spade spade. She’s fearless yet kind. She’s intelligent yet ready to do spiders things for her family. She doesn’t care if a guy wants to marry her or not, nor she wants to be dependent on anyone. All she wants is some respect for and her family with a touch of equality and humility. She’s a true modern women who too wants to be loved but not at the cost of her dignity and self-respect.
I hope Ram realises that his wife has some flaws which might be unacceptable by the society but is unacceptable only by the face of it.
