Hi everyone! just peeking in because of the random kdrama convo on another thread and yeoja put in a note to direct here. :)

so after a gap of a few years, am back watching ITV. the last time I was active on IF was with bepannah and silsilla. afterwards, didn't find anything to watch. actually I will watch drama in any language (with subs) as long as it interests me and is of a certain length. my limit is 150 eps. that is a reason I have lost interest in ITV. the story all goes bonkers after 150 episodes in such ridiculous directions, time jumps without any sense, and the same old story in circles. I once explained the story of kausati to some kdrama chingus on another forum and they died laughing at the 'abababa' song format - she is with anurag, no, she is with mr bajaj, then back to anurg, then fro to mr. bajaj...... 🤣

I generally watch a lot of kdramas and have been watching for many many years. however, I don't tend to watch the more trendy stuff like CLOY because it bores me and I think the initial dramas from years ago were lot more addictive. I watch a lot of daily/weekend genre dramas which are about a 6 month watch. then it is a new drama. thats what I like -- the freshness. the post is already long and so I won't go into recommendations but please do tag me if you want to check out something different from CLOY...

as of now, I am jobless which gives me time to watch a lot of dramas. some plus point right? 😆 LOL. so I am watching a thai drama (it is super interesting, guys are cute!), a turkish serial, a few kdramas and one PK serial (which I am praying will end this week so I never have to look at the stupidity of that writer again. the heartburn! UGH)

😆Good that my tag/note directed you here! Hey there fellow kdrama fan 🤗

Even I am mostly open to watching series/dramas/movies in any language as long as it is interesting.. but after trying some korean, japanese, Chinese , thai, Taiwanese dramas I came to the conclusion that I kdramas suit me more than others.. the language is also the easiest for my ears 😅

Even I tend to generally not like the trendy ones that much.. CLOY, MLFAS (my love from another star), DOTS etc dramas were average for me lol. Goblin was great but even that got a bit boring towards the end and I couldn't complete it..just watched some clips on YT for the later episodes.

Oh which thai drama are you watching? I had tried a few before but they didn't interest me much..and thai language somehow sounds a bit..weird to me 😅 but if the drama is really good I will give it a try.

Right now I don't get time to watch many series/dramas.. I am only watching BALH2 now. But I intend to start watching the kdrama Move to heaven which my best friend has been pestering me to watch for quite some time. 😆

so I am super active on one of the kdrama forum for years and we always laugh about thai lakorns because they have a very distinct flavour. it is definitely not for everyone but they can be weirdly entertaining in a very makjang kind of way (you know what I mean if you have watched lots of kdramas).

so none of the trendy dramas ever interest me these days. I basically need a forum to keep me watching through all the boring bits. sometimes the conversation itself is so hilarious that I watch a drama just for the group. "man in the veil" was one such recent drama. we had a ball of a time laughing our heads off at the drama. the last kdrama that I absolutely adored and fangirled was "bossam: steal the fate" -- it totally caught my heart. ❤️

so right now, here is my list:

ask mantik intikam (turkish - remake of kdrama "cunning single lady" -- the chemistry is bindaas and the drama has more side characters and side bits like the hilarious moms. the seconds leads are lot less annoying compared to the original)

emanet (turkish - season 2 - I don't watch the entire eps but just follow the clips on youtube. I basically live for the comment section in season 1 which has viewers all over the world who were absolutely hilarious.)

keun ruk salub chata (thai - binge watching it this week because it is more interesting than I expected it to be. it actually has depth of characters and relationship dynamics which I did not expect. there is a whole mystery aspect because the souls are swapped. normally such dramas are played for laughs but here, it is more melo. makes it interesting)

be my dream family (kdrama; from PD of five children. absolutely lovely and would make for an absolutely heartwarming intergenerational watch. I wish ITV made such dramas that were real about families as well as so sweet and nice. none of these people are villains or morons. it is about a couple in their 60s who get married and both have adult children. so all about how these two families blend together)

red shoes (kdrama; am not really enjoying it but keeping an eye on forum convos and watch here and there; the acting is good and melodramatic but am not sure what to make of the story)

second husband (kdrama; this one is fun; we are all wondering who is going to get killed and how she is going to end up in jail and then come back later for revenge....)

azmaish (PK serial; I accidentally discovered them thanks to YT recommendations. the beginning was good and now it is absolutely bakwas. gets my BP rolling at the madness of the story. however, I still keep peeking to see how this stupidity ends. UGH.)

Secretary Kim I didn't even watch after two epis. Somehow it didn't interest me much despite me being a fan of both Park Min young and Park so Jeon ..

Maybe I should read the webtoon! 😃

CLOY is fairytale-y ... It's sweet and I would have totally gone gaga over it if it would be my first kdrama or so. But now, nah. Idk why. 😆

Which kdrama you are watching now btw? Sorry if you have told me b4 but I forgot 🤔

I didn't watch either. I was super bored. however, I couldn't escape it because the forum I was on, people would post gifs and pics. so I 'saw' it that way. sometimes when I am lazy, I don't watch the drama, I just watch fan MVs instead. saves you a lot of time!!! smiley37 I also have discovered a lot of drams to watch that way as well. so all good! :)

Ohh.. which kdrmaa forum? I was active on the Asian shows forum on IF for a while in 2019.. after that I kinda got detached ... Now maybe I will rejoin there coz I had made some friends over there too 😅😅 and they are surprised by my sudden disappearance lol. 😂

Wowww you watch quite a lot of dramas😲! Oh.. those kdramas are new to me. Never Heard of these.. curious to check them out..

I have watched 2 Thai dramas.. one was about a girl changing into a boy and getting admitted in an all-boys school or something.. I don't remember the name but the drama was very fairytale-y and fluffy and also a bit weird type 😆 I lost interest after watching 4-5 episodes.. Another drama I don't remember anything about lol but I am sure I have watched another 🤔

Chinese dramas aren't really my cup of tea either. I have watched love o2o, Eternal Love , and a few others but couldn't complete any of them. I get bored in the middle and stop watching lol.

On the other hand I have watched 2-3 Taiwanese dramas and liked them a lot. One was Autumn's concerto and the others I have forgotten the names of but I liked them and watched them till the end.

Only kdramas interest me. 😆 And I have gotten so used to the 16-20 epis format that anything longer tests my patience. Only Hindi serials are exceptions where I can actually watch the entire serial if it keeps me hooked. 😄😄
