Relatives like Priya's mami (the one who welcomed mahendra sood) are infact the most common ones we see in India. They are shallow, and bear regressive mentality. So what they are portraying is actually closer to reality even though we as viewers are getting frustrated seeing this..

Absolutely. I was about to say this. In fact one of the idiotic so-called entertainment critic Salil Sand who’s usually known to share TV TRPs every Thursday made a post today criticising this issue. He outrightly criticised Priya for bowing down in front of his father until last week without understanding the whole situation. This guy has not even made a good intro post BALH2 yet he was the first to criticise the most sensible and realistic Priya on ITV for her deeds. Tomorrow’s episode will be a big slap on his face.

Although it’s stupid to do but Meera clearly justifies their point even in front of Nandini last week that since he’s Priya’s father he can’t stop him from attending the wedding if he wishes to. Plus remember Priya objecting to this at home yet Priya’s mama-mami and even that spineless Neeraj respected Mahender Sood’s decision to stay at Sood’s place until marriage. Moreover Meera was happy to know that at least his father realises that he must be a part of his daughters weddings else the society will unnecessarily question and taunt Priya on her marriage for being rude with her father and stopping him from attending the wedding ceremonies. But that shameless father showed his aukaad and will be asked to leave by Meera herself for wanting to break the matrimony. Was Priya really at fault in allowing his father to attend her marriage? After all the marriage is happening for family’s happiness? Priya would have to listen to what her mom and Akki’s mom says.

Yes I agree there are people like Priya's Mami.. But my whole point is why didn't Priya put her foot down.. See now Priya is getting hurt, humiliated and paying for Mahendra's kartoot.. And all this could have been avoided if only Priya had just said a blunt no for Mahendra staying with them.. At least to that extent they could have blocked his interference in the wedding na..

Agree with you. Although I would have liked to see Priya's mom as a stronger woman, her character traits are understandable.

I am just so so so happy with Priya's character! She is so damn real and relatable. Till now all her actions have been apt. 👍🏼

Actually I agree for his friends. Baki mamaji Shobhu aur Nandini par to muje trust hi nahi hai.
