Indian TV shows are well known for highlighting Indian tradition and extended joint families. Apart from these two things, the daily soaps ride high on being prudish as a large amount of self censorship imposed in the plots, keeping in mind the family audience. Most daily soaps easily skip their characters getting intimate on screen so to avoid making the audience feel uncomfortable.
The makers of popular show Yeh Hai Mohabattein, however, decide to bring in changes in their scripts keeping in view their fan's demand. Karan Patel and Divyanka Tripathi, who play the lead characters Raman Bhalla and his south Indian wife Ishita Bhalla will enact a few intimate scenes. The show is based on Manju Kapoor's famous short story Custody and discusses the story of a man getting married for the second time for the sake of his little daughter. Till now, the serial has largely revolved around Ishita who despite being little Ruhi's step mom has showered genuine love and given her right upbringing.
Though Raman and Ishita have been married for a long time now but there has been no physical intimacy, due to which a change in the script has been introduced.
Ekta Kapoor's hit show Bade Achche Lagte Hai was the last time audience saw an intimate scene in a TV show when Ram Kapoor and Sakshi Tanwar, who displayed a sizzling chemistry on screen. Romance in Bade Achche Lagte Hai had created an online frenzy as the audience were pleasantly surprised. Divyanka is sure that the intimate scenes in the upcoming episodes will bring similar reactions from the audience, as they are keen to see sparks flying between Raman and Ishita. Bhopal girl Divyanka is known to have reservations about getting intimate on camera. She has thus made it clear to the production team that very limited crew members should be allowed when the scenes would be shot. Producers of the show are extremely cooperative and have given Divyanka a free hand to decide her costume for the scene so that she remains comfortable on camera. "I want the scenes to be aesthetically shot so that my fans remember it with pride. I also do not want to offend my core fan base, as they are way too conservative," said Divyanka.
Karan Patel has been known for his strong fan following is busy anchoring the dance show Nach Baliye. Sporting a short pony tail similar to what was sported byShah Rukh Khan a while back Karan is enjoying the process of making of Yeh Hai Mohabattein.
