PART 6
It was Saturday, the day Nuts was supposed to come to Sharma house with her family. Preparations were on in full swing. Priya so wanted to go and meet Ram and Peehu, however, she was tied up.
Karthik was really nervous, Priya trying to calm him down. She was happy that Karthik had agreed to meet the family at least. The rest, they could talk about later.
All were ready, everything was being kept in place when the doorbell rang. Priya went ahead to open the door. She stood there, her eyes open wide. Ram was standing at the door with a bouquet in his hands.
"Ram?" "Priya?" "What are you doing here?" both of them spoke at the same time. Just then, Nuts came out of the lift with KK, Vikram and Neha. Karthik came out too.
Natasha came ahead and hugged Priya. "Hi Priya di", she said cheerfully. "Thats my brother, Ram", she stated matter-o-factly.
"Nuts you never told me The Ram Kapoor is your brother", Karthik said. "And you never told me you knew Priya.." Ram said.
"So you are Priya! You are beautiful beta", KK said smiling at Priya. "Maa who told you about Priya?" Ram enquired.
There was hell lot of confusion. Vikram finally put in, "Can we go in and sort things out? Or arre we gonna be standing here all evening?"
After sometime, all the kapoors and sharmas were sitting in the living room of Sharma house. All confusions sorted. They were talking about Nuts and Karthik and their relation. Ram was really embarassed when he came to know that Vikram had told maa. Priya had turned red too. Ram was really happy that his choti had indeed found someone who loved her. Karthik wouldnt cheat his choti. Never! Nuts was happy that the lady Vikram bhai mentioned was Priya di. She really liked her and thought of her as her sister. Vikram and Neha were happy for Ram too. Happy that their fatty had finally found someone.
"So Karthik, whats your plan? Have you and choti decided on something?", Neha asked. In the few hours that they spent together, Priya and Neha had bonded well. They took a liking towards each other. Vikram and Neha were introduced as family, as chotis bhai.
"The plan, Neha di, is that me and Karthik will get married the day Priya di does.", Nuts put in. "Karthik dosent want to get married before di, and I agree to what he says." Shipra and Sudhir were happy that they were getting a daughter in the form of Natasha. Someone who understood their son and supporter him too. Priya wanted to stop nuts from saying any such thing, but she didnt stop. Ram was proud of his little sister. She had grown up. Matured.
"Im proud of your choice choti. And im proud of you." Ram said. "Thanks Bhai.." , Nuts said.
Ram got a call and walked out of the room. "Choti, im so happy for you. You found a perfect family for yourself." Vikram added.
"So Priya, when are you planning to get married?" Neha asked. The Sharmas suddenly turned sad. They were looking at one another, thinking of what to say n how to say it. Ram came back in. He had heard Nehas question.
"Priya, wont you show me around? I'd love to see the house." Ram said diverting the topic and trying to get some time alone with Priya. He needed to talk to her alone that very instant. It was urgent.
"Of course Ram. Come along." Priya stood up, happy to be avoiding the talk she dreaded. As Ram and Priya went out of the room, Karthik told them what the problem was. "Choti, Karthik, I was proud of you. But now, I feel lucky to have kids like you, who understand the meaning of family.", KK said kissing each of their forehead.
Priya was thankful to Ram that he got her out of the room. "Thanks Ram", she whispered. "No need for that Priya. Actually, I wanted to talk to you about something. Its urgent. And important." "What is it Ram? You sound tensed." "Priya, I dont know who did this, but I promise, im gonna screw his life once I find him.", Ram said gritting his teeth. He was really angry. Priya had never seen him this pissed off.
"Tell me clearly Ram. I dont understand.", she said. Ram took his mobile out of his pocket and held it out to Priya. Priya read what was shown to her and saw the pictures. It was the website of a leading newspaper, which had reported that Ram and Priya were in a relationship.

Industrialist Ram Kapoor In Love!
Yes! Looks like The Ram Kapoor finally found someone for himself. The 40 year old, most eligible bachelor in town is finally hooked. This news might break the hearts of many young women who dreamed about being with the man himself. Looked like the couple are madly in love and were found spending time alone at an NGO in town. We have no reports of who his lady love is, but we will find out soon.
Along with the news flashed pictures of Ram & Priya hugging at the NGO and that of Ram sitting in his knees, when he was trying to calm Priya down.
"Priya, this news is being flashed on the TV too.", Ram said.
"Im gonna kill that reporter once I find him. And if any if my rivals are involvd, im gonna make sure they regret." , Ram sweared.
"What do we do now Ram? My family, your family, the reputation is at stake.", Priya whispered.
"What is your say Priya? What do we do?", Ram asked her. "I dont know Ram. Just do something, please! I cant take any more pressure.", she replied, almost on the verge of tears.
"Priya, I have a solution. But agree to it only if you feel its the right thing to do, okay?", Ram said holding Priya by her shoulder. She nodded slightly, still looking down.
"Priya, marry me!", Ram spoke out in one breath. Priya looked up at him in shock! "Did he just ask me to marry him?", she thought.
"Listen to me, Karthik wants to see you married before him. Our marriage will make it easier for Karthik and choti. Moreover, I wasnt marrying because I couldnt find someone who could understand me and my love towards work. But I know you understand me better than anyone else. You wont be bothered by my workaholism. Moreover, your parents will be relieve. I know how it feels to have an unmarried daughter.", Ram went on to explain.
"Priya, my mom is going to be the happiest person on earth seeing me married. And my family is my priority. I know its the same for you too. So if this makes our families happy, why not?", Ram finished, looking expectantly at Priya.
She calmly absorbed whatever Ram had said. Ram just asked her to marry him. Wah he in love with her, just as she was with him? Was he doing it just for his family? Was it pity after knowing about her condition? Was it sympathy? She couldnt make out. But what he said made sense to her. She could do anything for her family. And this step could give them immense joy.
Ram was still standing with both his hands on her shoulders, looking at he. He was admiring her beauty. She looked divine in saree. She was gorgeous. I love you Priya, Really! He thought. But I dont know about your feelings for me. I wish u could tell you how much Im crazy about you. Id scream at the top of my voice and not bother about who is looking.
Priya looked up at Ram slowly. "Ram, I can do anything to make ma, papa and Karthik happy. And I trust you. Completely. Im okay with your decision Ram. Im okay with marrying you.", she said. A smile broke out on Rams lips. His dream of having Priya as his life partner was coming true, if not in the way he wanted it to.
"And yes, you and me can continue meetin Peehu and the kids at the NGO just like we used to.", Ram said to lighten the mood as they walked back into the room.
Ram held Priyas hand in his as he walked towards the living area where everyone sat. She felt a bolt of current pass through her nerves as he did that. She felt good that Ram was showing his right over her.
"Maa, Sudhir sir, theres something me and Priya want to tell all of you.", Ram said taking the initiative. Nehas eyes fell on their hands. The way they were entangled made her smile. She poked at Vikram and pointed out to him. He was elated too.
"Me and Priya want to get married.", Ram spoke out finally. Everyone recovered from their initial shock. All were happy. Everyone was elated.
"So fatty! You finally found someone huh!!", Neha came ahead to hug him. "Yea bandariya. You finally have someone to bitch about Vikram.",Ram said hugging her back.
KK went to Priya. Priya bent down to touch her feet. KK blessed her and hugged her tight. " Aunty, there's something you should know before you give your approval.", Priya said.
"I know what i need to know beta. And nothing matters to me more than Rams happiness. If Ram is happy with you, im happy too. And call me maa. Im not your aunty." KK said.
"Thanks maa.. I really must have done something good to deserve someone like you as my mother.", Priya said smiling.
Karthik and Natasha hugged Priya too. Priya then went to a teary Shipra. "Maa, what make you cry now? I said yes to get married.", she said hugging her mother. Sudhir ran his hand through Priya's head.
"So, since my di has finally agreed to get married, i think we should celebrate! And Ram sir, any celebration at Sharma house is incomplete without kulfi!", Karthik announced. "So how about kulfi for everyone? Me and Natasha can go and get it" he asked.
"Yea i know you guys want to spend some time alone. Go ahead!! All of us will have kulfi today!", Neha said.. Ram and Priya sat opposite each other, stealing glances and blushing.
Their engagement was fixed for the next week and wedding would happen another week later. Ram and Priya, Karthik and Nuts would get married on the same day.
The Kapoors soon bid bye and off they went. It was the perfect ending to an awesome evening!
Priya was standing at her balcony, staring at the starry night, when she got a call from Ram.
"Hey! Still awake?", He said.
"Yea. Still trying to digest whatever happened today!", she replied.
"Hmm.. Was unexpected, wasn't it? Lives have changed overnight."
"Yea! Last night, i was thinking if im ever gonna get married. And here i am, 24 hours later, ready to get engaged in a week.", she said.
"so are we meeting tomorrow? At the NGO? We need to tell Peehu!" Ram said.
"Yea. I have lectures till 3. Can we meet at 4?", she asked.
"Yea sure. I'll be there", he replied back. "Good night Priya"
"Good Night Ram.", she said and disconnected the call. She still couldn't believe her destiny. She was the happiest person on earth to have Ram Kapoor as her friend. But who knew she would soon be Mrs Priya Ram Kapoor! Wow, that sounded nice. But did Ram love her like she loved him? Or was it just a matter of convenience for him? This thought created havoc in her mind. She, however, chose to keep the thought aside and cherish these moments. Off she went to bed, with a smile playing on her lips.
They were sitting with Peehu in the evening. "Hey.. Hows my princess?", Priya asked hugging peehu. "Peehu is fine aunty. Peehu missed you!", she replied in her cute baby tone..
"Awww baby, aunty missed you too, lots!", she said holding her arms wide. Peehu giggled and hugged Priya again.
Ram stood aside and saw them together. There was a special bond between Peehu and Priya that no one could understand ever. It was just special. And Ram loved to see them together. Watching them together gave him a special happiness that nothing else would. These two ladies were just so special to him.
"So you missed only your Priya aunty Haan! Nothing for Ram uncle?", Ram asked joining them. "Ram uncle..", Peehu squealed in joy and jumped into his arms. He lifted her up and swung her in the air. It was their way of greeting each other. Peehu enjoyed it a lot.
After playing with Peehu and pampering her a bit, Ram and Priya sat down with her. "Baby listen", Priya said. "Me and Ram uncle are goin to get married."
Peehus face fell immediately. She remembered the last time someone said something about Priya's marriage. "That means, you wont come to meet me na aunty?", she asked almost crying. Priya was in tears too. How innocent kids were. Wish the world was like them. Ram lifted her to make her sit on his lap.
"Listen rockstar. Marriage doesn't mean your Priya aunty will go away from you. Both of is will come to meet you. Just like we do now. No change. I promise.", Ram said cradling her in his arms.
Peehu looked convinced. "Pakka Ram uncle?", she asked. "Yes pakka", he replied. Peehu was smiling again. But her face fell in a second. She looked confused.
"What is it princess?", Priya asked concerned. "What is marry aunty?", Peehu asked innocently.
Ram laughed out loud. Priya too smiled. "Marriage is when a boy and a girl promise to stay with each other in good times and bad.", Priya went on to explain. "They decide to be friends forever."
"So you and Ram uncle will be best friends now?", she asked Priya. Priya looked at Ram. He was looking back at her. "I hope Princess, that your Ram uncle and me are best friends forever.", Priya replied still looking at Ram.
