Trailer of the month: Shaadi Ke
Side Effects

Our pick of the trailers this month is Saket Chaudhary's Shaadi Ke Side Effects. He has earlier directed Pyaar Ke Side Effects.
What makes the trailer special is
that it has a vibe with which you
connect. It's funny and fresh and
the lead couple Vidya and Farhan
seem to share a great chemistry.

Excerpts of our conversation with
the filmmaker and lead actor
Farhan Akhtar on what makes the
trailer work:
Saket Chaudhary: When Ram
Kapoor tells Farhan that you have
to tell a small lie to make a
marriage work, it touches a chord. The trailer is funny and insightfuland Vidya and Farhan have a great chemistry.
Farhan Akhtar: Unlike most
romantic comedies, where you
end up finding each other, in this
film you are rediscovering each
other. People have liked the vibe
of the film. It's not seeming
mindless. There is humour, there
is chemistry and it seems fresh.
And I think what is fresh about it
is that it is a love story that you
have not seen too often. There is
a spark and youthfulness to it. All
partnerships, not just marriages,
have problems, but we are
treating it in a way with a certain
sense of enjoyment and light-
handedness. Anybody who meets
me talks about that tauliye ka
galat side situation. Everybody
connects with it. In a marriage,
once the honeymoon period is
over, there are always
adjustments and compromises
you make. You are constantly
thinking of when to raise your
cudgels and when to take it lying
down. I have wanted to say
something, but have held it back
as I felt it would rock the boat at
that time. The trailer's connect is
tremendous as it reminds you of
your own relationship.
