They meet again...

Priya was arranging Pihu's school bag when the doorbell rang. Before Priya could get up, Pihu ran towards the door and flung it open. On seeing Rajat, Pihu started screaming aloud:

Pihu: Rajat Mamu, aapko pata hai kal na Papa aaye the, humare ghar.

Rajat knew how obsessed Pihu was about her Papa, but he had never seen her talking like this. He lifted Pihu on his lap and asked lovingly:

Rajat: Achcha aapke Papa yahan aaye the?

Pihu: Haan. Unhone mujhse dher sari batein ki, aur raat ko mere paas hi soye. Woh toh subhe unko office jana pada is liye

Bas bas, abhi bohot ho gaya. Godh se utro aur jaldi se shoes pehno, school jana hai..interrupted Priya.

Pihu jumped out of Rajat's lap and ran inside talking to herself loudly:

Aur school se aake Papa se milne jana hai...

Rajat looked at Priya surprisingly: Di, yeh Pihu jo bol rahi hai kya woh sach hai?

Priya looked at Rajat and nodded her head silently in affirmation.

Rajat: You mean ..Pihu ke Papa.. matlab aapke ke husband..

Priya: Haan

Rajat 's eyes gleamed with joy...

Di, am so happy. Bataiye na kaun hai woh...Dubai main rehte hai ya bahar? Sab thik ho gaya na aap dono ke beech ?

Priya (with a heavy sigh): Sab bataongi Rajat. Lekin abhi nahi, pehle Daijaan ko hospital se ghar leke aate hai.. phir ..

Rajat: Di aap hamesha taal dete hai..

Priya: Nahi Rajat.. is baat ko aur nahi taal sakti! Aaj sham ko unse milne jana hai aur tab tumhari bohot zaroorat padegi. Lakin tab tak mere bhai hum is bare main baat nahi karenge please..

Rajat: Ok .. jaise aap bole. Bas aap aur jiju ek baar mil jaye toh mujhe aur kuch nahi chahiye..

Rajat and Priya reached the hospital after leaving Pihu to school and headed straight towards Daijaan's cabin.

Hello Mr Kapur..

Rajat turned back on hearing a familiar voice: Oh.. hi Mr Khan..

Khan: Aap yahan..

Rajat: Haa Daijaan admitted hai kuch tests ke liye. Par aap yahan?

Khan: Oh.. you know Mr Ram Kapoor suddenly had an attack of high BP yesterday night, so we had to get him here.

Rajat: Oh.. how is he now?

Mr Khan: The doctor kept him under observation for 8 hrs, now he is absolutely fine.. I came to escort him back to the hotel.

Priya could feel a big lump in her throat as tears started rolling down her cheeks.

I... I.. want to see him... exclaimed Priya in a choking voice.

Both Rajat and Mr Khan looked at her in utter surprise...

Rajat (taken aback to see Priya in tears): Di.. aap .. Mr Ram Kapoor ko kaise...

Priya (closing her eyes as she spoke): He .. is my husband.. Pihu ke Papa..

Rajat could not believe what he had heard..

Rajat: Di.. toh kya Mr Ram Kapoor kal aap se milne aaye the?

Priya shook her head slowly, still trying hard to control herself.

Mr Khan (looking at Priya): Mrs Kapoor.. Please don't worry. Its not that serious. You can meet Mr Kapoor, he is in room no 301 while I complete the formalities for his discharge.

Rajat: Di.. I will come with you...

Priya : No Rajat. Tum jake Daijaan ke discharge ka intezam karo, main unse do minute milke aati hoon..

Priya opened the door of cabin no 301 to find Ram sitting on the bed, engrossed with his Ipad. He looked visibly tired and dull, his unshaven face showing streaks of grey. He heard the noise of door and looked up.

Ram (with a mixed expression of surprise and irritation): Tum? Tum yahan kyun aayi ho?

Priya (coming closer to the bed and looking into Ram's eyes intensely):Ram.. Mujhe pata hai ke kal mujhse milne ke wajay se hi aapki tabiyaat kharab hui hogi.. Ram main..

Ram: Agar pata hai toh phir kyun aayi ho yahan? Mujhe tumhari hamdardi ki koi zaroorat nahi..

Priya: Main yahan aapko hamdardi jatane nahi aayi. Woh toh main yaahan kisi aur se milne aayi thi, par jab aapke bare mein pata chala toh mujhse raha nahi gaya.

Ram: Please Priya..stop all this. Mujhe tumhari in baton se kuch farqh nahi padhne wala..

Priya (breaking down completely as she spoke): Mujhe pata hai Ram aapko mujhse kitni narazgi hai. Maine mere zinda rehne ki baat, aur phir Pihu ko aap se chupaya..toh aapki nazargi jayas bhi hai. Mujhe yeh bhi pata hai ki ab aapki zindagi mein mere liye koi jagah nahi hai. Par believe me Ram aapki jagah meri zindagi mein aaj bhi wohi hai jo 5 saal pehle tha. Woh jagah na kisi ne kabhi liya hai aur na aage koi le sakta hai.

Ram: You still want me to trust you? Phir kyun kiya tumne yeh sab?

Priya: Mere paas aapke har sawal ka jawab hai Ram..lekin please..pehle aap thoda thik ho jayiye . Aapko mujhpe gussa hai, toh uska saza aap aapne aap ko mat dijiye please.

Ram (giving a sarcastic smile): Aaj itne saloon ke baad achanak tumhe mere liye kyun itna fikr ho raha hai Priya ?

Priya: Kyun ki ... chodiye Ram aap nahi samjhenge. Meri baat chodiye, kam se kam aapko aapki family ke baare mein toh sochna chahiye na. Rohan .. aur aapki wife.. unke baare mein toh sochiye..

Ram: Meri wife??

There was a knock at the door and Rajat peeped in.

Rajat (looking at Ram): Hello sir, hope you are well now.

Ram stared at Rajat in anger, without uttering a single word.

Sorry di aap logon ko disturb kiya, aapka phone nahi lag raha tha. Daijaan ko discharge mil gaya hai. Main unhe leke ghar ja raha hoon, waha se aapke liye gadi bhej doonga, aap baad mein aaiye.

Priya: Nahi Rajat, tum jao main 5 minute mein parking mein aati hoon.

Rajat: Nahi Di, main Daijaan ko sambhal loonga. Aap Jiju ke paas .. I mean Mr Kapoor ke paas rahiye.

Priya: Nahi .Kisiko bhi meri zaroorat nahi hai yahan, tum jao mein aati hoon..

Rajat (looking at Ram): Have a good day Sir.

Priya wiped her tears as Rajat left the room and looked at Ram.

Priya: Ram.. I will not disturb you anymore. Mujhe sirf aapko yeh batana hai ke Pihu aapki beti hai aur aapko poora haq hai uski zindagi ke baare mein faisla lene ka. Pihu ke baare mein jo bhi aapka faisla hoga.. woh mujhe manzur hogi.

Priya went towards the door to leave the room, and as she opened the door , she turned towards Ram and said in a shaky voice:

Ram.. ek waqt tha..jab hum dono mein sirf samjhote ka rishta tha'.phir bhi Ashwin ke mamle mein aapne mujhpe trust kiya. Aur aaj ek waqt hai, jab hum dono ek doosre se bohot pyar karte hai.. lekin phir bhi aapko mujhpe trust nahi hai!

Priya left, and before Ram could react to all that he had heard, the doctor entered the cabin.

Doctor: So Mr Kapoor.. How are you now?

Ram: I am fine doctor, thank you!

Doctor: I have signed your discharge papers but please relax and do not take stress anymore.

Ram nodded his head and smiled.

Doctor: By the way, I saw Mrs Priya Kapoor coming out of your cabin.

Ram: Yeah..She came to meet me. But how do you know her?

Doctor: Oh all the old staff of this hospital know her. Her's was a miraculous case you see..

Ram: Case? Why? What happened?

Doctor: Oh probably you did not know her then. Her case was one of the most remarkable success stories of this hospital. She had multiple injuries from an accident, and was pregnant. There were severe medical complications in her pregnancy, but inspite of repeated warnings she refused to abort the child. And after child birth, she was almost on the verge of dying, and was in ICU for months! This lady has exceptional mental strength I must say.

Ram (getting up from his bed): Doctor I want to know in detail what happened. Please tell me..

Doctor: But Mr Kapoor, I m afraid I can't share the medical history of one patient with another, I mean it's not ethical.

Ram: You have to share with me doctor, I need to know, I have the right to know.. coz.. ..coz I am her husband!

Doctor: My goodness! Where have you been all this while Mr Kapoor? I mean.. she struggled and suffered so much. She had only her brother Mr Rajat Kapur for support..

Ram (with teary eyes): Doctor we got separated 5 years ago due to some unavoidable circumstances and now there's some misunderstanding and she had not told me anything regarding her past. I really need to know what happened 5 years ago..

Doctor: Hmmm.. I suggest you meet Dr Dsouza. He handled her case. He is no longer in this hospital. He joined a hospital in Abu Dhabi a year ago. I can give you his number if you wish.

Ram leaned on the back seat of the car as it raced towards Abu Dhabi, the conversations in the hospital kept on rolling in his mind..

How could I allow such thoughts about Priya and Rajat. Oh god.. Priya sahi thi.. Maine us pe trust nahi kiya.. usko apni baat batane ka mauka tak nahi diya! Pata nahi kya kya saha hoga usne pichle paanch saalon mein. She seemed to be knowing about Rohan .. but yeh meri wife ke baare mein kyun kaha usne? Pata nahi kuch toh bohot galat ho raha hai.. I must clear all this ..

Ram looked at his Ipad and stared at Priya's pictures..

I want you back Priya.. I want to you back forever...
