GEC Watch: Colors back at No. 2 as only Star Plus adds viewers

Sa Re Ga Ma Pa opens at 2.5 TVR; Life OK again surpasses SAB to take No. 5 seat in Week 39 of TAM 2012

After several weeks of close competition for the No. 2 position among Zee TV, Colors and Sony, Week 39 has given a convincing No. 2 Hindi general entertainment channel with Colors taking a lead of 16 points from the No. 3 channel. According to data sourced from TAM subscribers for the period September 23 – September 29 (CS 4+, HSM markets), Star Plus remained the only channel to add viewers this week. Life OK has sustained its last week's GRPs and once again surpassed SAB to take the No. 5 rank.

No. 1 Hindi GEC, Star Plus, was the only Hindi general entertainment channel to grow in Week 39 that has been badly hit by the ongoing ICC Twenty20 World Cup. The channel has added 16 points to reach 268 GRPs this week (last week 252).

Colors has made a convincing comeback at No. 2 after several weeks of close competition for the slot. The channel has recorded 233 GRPs this week (last week 233).

Zee TV has slipped to No. 3 position this week. Its flagship singing reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa opened at 2.5 TVR on September 29, 2012. The channel has recorded 217 GRPs (last week 235).

At No. 4, Sony Entertainment Channel has lost 30 GRPs this week and recorded 202 GRPs (last week 232).

Life OK sustained its last week's GRPs and made a comeback at No. 5 by overtaking SAB. Life OK has recorded 124 GRPs in Week 39 (last week 124).

SAB TV has slipped to No. 6 with 122 GRPs this week (last week 131).

Sahara One has recovered a bit and recorded 34 GRPs this week (last week 29).
