ah, i just happened to see this post and i went through each comment... i totally agree with you guys... yesterdays episode was a typical BT trademark...
u guys have pointed out everything n so i wont say them again... in short, the dialogues did not go well with the characters at all... specially priya ka rona-dhona and the negative family taking advantage of the "oh-so-innocent-business-tycoon" Ram ...
n just to add to what u guys have said ... y does Vikram have to behave like Ram's care-taker... we all have someone called asour bestie... but that doesn't mean u depend on that person when it comes to selecting clothes for ur own function... it was fine till a particular level where they potrayed a friendly relation between Ram n Vikram... but in yesterday's episode, i kinda felt that Ram is being potrayed as a very immature being, who prefers watching match while the guests are waiting for him...
secondly, the convo between the dad n priya could have taken place at their own house... or even if they wanted to speak such stuff, they wouldn't have to stand in the party hall and speak it out... n priya could have used a "less-crowded" place to cry... argh! sometimes its like she is desperate to get into Paro's shoes...
n why on earth does shipra have to make a fool of herself all the time... the way she was describing her guest-list was so annoying. speaking really practically, no middle-class woman would talk like a fish-monger to a high-society woman in such a manner. she would rather be silent. but ah well, this is shipra!
well, so far the characters have been tolerable... i just hope EK doesnt use her "age-old" trick of exaggerating characters... making the sacrificing types more sacrificial.. and the "nag/nagin" types more negative...

hey , u used to be a part of kasamh se forum right ? .. I remember a few people ... u , majumdar , raaga om , mistletoe ...
YOu know , this almost feels like a warning sign.. of how the show will turn out to be after a few months ... if it goes the usual BT way ...
Remember how good kasamh se was the first six months .. and then how it went down the drain ?

I think what she means is that the girl side of family makes all the effort to please the boys side so the girl doesn't have any issue at sasural...but then in Ekta's world...it doesn't figure especially in the high society world.

For us normally Punjabis are happy go lucky mast race, Ekta herself is one but what I failed to understand why is Ekta trying to portray them as insensitive people...I mean I found the whole episode very loud bragging like a child...

Agree with most of the other points. But I think its not right to say they are portraying Punjabi's ( Ekta K 's punjabi families ) as being insensitive.
We have to understand that they belong to two different strata of society. It could be any community for that matter. Punjabi's may be happy go lucky etc...but in this case its MONEY. One side is more wealthier than the other.

And if the girl's family is not well off...as long as they are not expected to share the expense I think its should be fine. They can do whatever is possible. Its unfair to the Boy's side just to compromise on everything.. As long as there are no unreasonable demands its okay.
And that Dad has a major complex.

Your indignation is correct. There werer so many loopholes yesterday regarding Siddanth and the way shaadi arrangements were discussed infront all guests. It didnt ring true in every sense. Somehow Ek has totally missed it. Her writers need to do proper homework.
@ Divan all your observations were correct. After mon's episode I thought there was going to be some really good days ahead. But no!. As is the trend, Ek starts on this roller coster ride of downhill now. With just a day for this week, I dont think much is going to happen to impress me at all.

@maris I feel as if the writers are writing as if they have no clue about how people, business, family and society functions. To me yesterday's epi could have been so different.

I would rather have seen Ram nervous and irritated rather than pouting because he wants to finish seeing cricket match...infact it would have been better to see Ram and his pa-in-law actually glued to the telly while the women moaned at them.

Sid The Playboy scene could have been so different and classy. Sid does not even look like a villan...a guy who looked smart and dangerous and who already believes the Kapoor khandan is all his would have added impact rather then the laughable bed rollaround.

And the wedding planning...it would have been nice to see Shipra and Niharika bickering about number of people, venues etc and Ram noticing how Priya's father and Priya exchange uncomfortable glances when huge numbers and type of facilities are mentioned. A much better scene then one of rona dhona.
