This one is dedicated to my sweetie-pie Zainu. 🤗

Well, Zainu madam, ab aap yahaan aake zara 'like' zaroor mariyega, as this is apparently the only thing you come to this forum for 😆😆 Aapke liye toh jaan bhi hazir, ek post kya cheez hai? 😆

So, chatt mangni, pat bhya toh suna tha, but this is ridiculous 😆 In three days they've had the engagement already? 😆

Shipra ji takes 1-2 hours to get ready, but the bride-to-be only needs 15 minutes? Haila! 😆 What a cheap date she's going to be 😆 at least Ram won't have to wait hours for her outside the bathroom 🤣

I really like Deepak Qazir (aka Babuji from KGGK - a mini reunion for Saakshi! 😆) but I do miss Shakuni maama part 1: I wonder why he was replaced? He wasn't doing such a bad job...

And from what angle does Ram look "excited" to Niharika?! 😆 but its good to know Mummy's PA Ishika is back...I was really missing her *rolls eyes* 🥱

LMAO at everything Ram was watching/seeing at night being marriage-related 😆😆😆😆 I so believe in such signs, don't you? 😆

Speaking of rings that hold bad memories/bring bad luck in new relationships...many people said the same thing about Kate Middleton using Diana's engagement ring...that it would bring a bad shadow over her marriage. Do you believe that rings (and other inanimate objects that we touch) can carry an imprint of a failure or a success and bring those vibes into a new endeavour?

I like how matter of fact everyone is about Ram's weight - and that Shipra and Priya tease and laugh about it, but it is without venom and certainly not a dealbreaker. I don't like bigoted people.

The ring-choosing scene didn't have the production values of the promos (looks like they spend all their budget on those rose-tinted promos, but as nice as they are, I wish they would spend some of it on the show itself), but I liked the whole scene of Ram and Priya trying to learn each other through such a simple thing. Very symbolic of their strange and "odd" relationship 😆 and the fact that these two simply do not know each other. I prefer such simple and subtle scenes that show (aaargh @ the S's! 😆) their 'Odd Couple' equation. I'd rather not hear again and again - from Priya or anyone else - how different Ram and Priya are, how they are not suited to each other etc etc. I'd rather see it in scenes like this 👏

I really liked that scene where Shipra jhadoed Priya for even thinking about going to work - so my mother 😆

Side note: Looks like this scene between Sudhir and Priya (acc. to the behind the scenes video) was the cause of Sakshi's lost voice 😭😆 though they have made her shout a lot in past episodes. I guess the actual engagement bits were shot today and the stuff that came before this was shot yesterday. You could tell in the few dialogues that Sakshi had her voice was quite bad.

Normally, I hate scenes being repeated and reused with a passion, but as I know that the reason it was added was because of Sakshi's voice, I can overlook the Shipra/Ayesha getting Priya ready scene.

I really like the small continuity touches that they keep in the show - like Priya walking very awkwardly in her heels in an attempt to keep steady 😆 By the way, Switty maama, I doubt Shakespeare "ji" ever had a dheet Punjabi type accent like yours but I guess "a rose by another name"...and all that 😆😆😆😆😆

LMAO at the "green & yellow" combination 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Yaar Ram, ek baar dekh hi liya hota uski taraf...you would have avoided that whole scene 😆 but I did like his ulta-compliment - these guys are the perfect example of being completely non-conventional and odd - their interactions, their proposal and this. Everything is coloured by this cute oddness...

They were sitting so far away from each other on that sofa - how exactly did they plan to reach over to give each other the rings? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

The final shot of them both playing with their rings really symbolised the whole episode, their whole relationship. Awkward fits...connections too tight or too loose, completely alien to one another. Unconventional, different, weird, odd yet oddly perfect. (Or perfectly odd 🤣🤣🤣🤣).

I guess this is the week we get some great scenes, so make the most of it, people. Agle hafta pata chala and they have broken the engagement and gone back to square 1 again 😕🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

But in all seriousness, Ram and Sakshi make this show. End of story. For all that I might like a few of the other characters, or find them amusing...l am not watching this show for them. If this show ONLY had Ram and Sakshi on screen every single minute, I would still watch it. These two have the charisma to hold whole episodes like that. Every nuance, every small expression, every little detail is considered by them and the entire credit for this goes to them. Yes, good writing helps but as we know from this show, good writing is not always a given. Even in the worst of the writing though, the charm that RP bring to the show, the complete way in which they know their own characters and their idiosyncrasies and bring this to their performances, that is what keeps us watching. I hope we never lose that.

Excellent post Vasu...yes the odd balls that have been brought together by destiny. The episode production is not upto scratch but like you said, Ram and Sakshi do make their character convincing. There is nothing forced about the dialogue delivery or screwing up their faces at right moments. I do hope this show will prove that you don't have to relegate older actors to play mommies, pappas, bhaiya, bhabhi aur even gradma and grand pas as we have been seeing.

Now that I know your name..I m going to call you Vasu.

Bless you for your patience in writing such a lovely anaylsis.

Enjoyed the episode ...and great actors. I like the new Mamaji..he brought a lot of life to the character.

Ram was so cute and loved him with his expressions during the ring ceremony. Poor fat guy was in pain.😆 And the couple stuck together during the conversation.

I don't think there will be any break up of engmt etc...Would like to see them go out together soon.

Thanks again

Oh you made a post today! Yay!

I liked today's epi as well...cuz basically like you said, Ram-Sakshi MAKE this show...I'm strictly and only watching this show for THEM...lol...cuz overall quality toh BT se kabhi expect bhi nahin ki jaa sakti...that's living in a fool's paradise.

Anyways, getting back to today's epi...copy/pasting what I said in the CC:

Aww the ring selection scene today is cuteee...especially the Ram bit...I loved how he kept refusing to look at the rings and then after a bit adds in almost as an afterthought..."Priya ko yeh ring suit nahin karegi...woh bahut patli dubli hain naa"😆...and the way he understood that something simpler would work better...awww Ram!

And the scene with Ram unable to sleep the night before and being faced with SHAADI ke thoughts no matter what he tried...TV, newspaper...then hearing the proposal in his sleep also😆...HILARIOUS! Even later on after the ring is selected and he's thinking about Priya as he's looking at the ring...almost like a bali ka bakra...rofl...

The next scene I liked was the "compliment" scene...haha...loved how that played out...but seriously what was Ram thinking trying to 'compliment' her by GUESSING the colors she was wearing?🤔😆...anyways I loved the ending...with him going..."ab main sach mein ek baat bolun?...aaj tum waisi hi lag rahi ho jaisi roz lagti hao...lekin phir bhi theek lag rahi ho"...LMAO...this is Ram's version of a compliment! Bravo! And Priya also finally took it like that...it was honest atleast...haha

Then the engagement scene...LOLL Ram's expression when he sees the ring is too loose on Priya🤣🤣...And he even mumbles an apologetic sorry to her baad mein...aww Ram...and after that Priya trying to force his ring on to his finger🤣🤣...Ram's expressions again killed me...🤣...jaise sach mein PHASS hi gaya...complete with ring🤣

Oh and I also LOL'd at Vikram trying to give gyaan to Ram but Ram being SO frustrated...haha he's already planned a conference call after his sagaai too🤣...LOLLL

Divan - hey! You're so right - older actors are not just mommas and poppas nowadays; sometimes I still find it mind-boggling that this is the same Sakshi who played a Parvati Agarwal, a woman who went from 20 - 60 years old in the course of the entire show, who was a mother and a grandmother. Now it's not like she is playing a teenager, but compared to that character, the freshness she brings to this younger role is truly a delight. Same goes for Ram - though I never watched Kasamh Se, I know that he played an older businessman to Bani's teen/young-adult. I think today's supposedly YOUNG actors need a lesson to realise that just their youth is not a sell any more. Ekta has been the bane and the saviour though of this attitude of age - she has brought some of the youngest actors in her shows (wasn't Prachi Desai like 16 when she played Bani?) but at the same time, she honours her older actors because she recognises their talent.

Kripa - thank you so much! Glad you liked the analysis. Yes, I too liked the new maama, as much as I liked the maama in the first place 😆...I just quite liked the old one as well. But for whatever reason, the replacement has been made, and Deepak Qazir is a very decent and versatile actor, so at least we have another veteran on the show who can give a contrast (and acting lessons!) to some of the others...especially since he is in Nuts' family, he can spend more time with the over-actors 😆

I also hope and don't think there will be any break at this stage, and yes, I would like to see them go out as an engaged/married couple in public 😳

Oh you made a post today! Yay! Hey Anu! Yeah...for some reason I really wasn't feeling it yesterday. Socha tha that I would still make one, but I'd rather not make one just for the sake of it if I have nothing to say 😆

Exactly; we both know Ekta better than most people and though we did initially have expectations that the show OVERALL would be great, we have seen and come to realise that's never going to be the case. But, in EK's defence (and who would see that coming?! 😆) the promos that we all loved were ONLY and ONLY about Ram and Priya and did not feature anyone else. So when the sidey characters were introduced, naturally we were disappointed but then we weren't given any expectations about them either. As you say, at least Ram-Sakshi can maintain the quality we want and demand.

I know - I really liked this scene...he refused to look, then looked once, okayed it, looked twice, looked thrice and finally muttered something about simplicity and sizes 😆...it is interesting that for all their differences, for all that they don't know each other...there is this instinct that creeps in that gives them (Ram, especially) an insight into the other.

And the scene with Ram unable to sleep the night before and being faced with SHAADI ke thoughts no matter what he tried...TV, newspaper...then hearing the proposal in his sleep also😆...HILARIOUS! Even later on after the ring is selected and he's thinking about Priya as he's looking at the ring...almost like a bali ka bakra...rofl...This was hilarious and reminded me of Ram's nightmare about Priya bringing him tea 😆 it also refreshed the thought that Ram the actor made in that TB video about this strange AURAT coming into the 40-year old budha's bedroom and changing everything around 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Bravo! And Priya also finally took it like that...it was honest atleast...haha Again, agree with you. I like that they are already being quite honest and "themselves" with each other; and despite what they think in the fundamentals they are quite similar. She doesn't like receiving small compliments and he doesn't like giving them. It's not all about who likes rain and who hates it 🤣🤣

Then the engagement scene...LOLL Ram's expression when he sees the ring is too loose on Priya🤣🤣...And he even mumbles an apologetic sorry to her baad mein...aww Ram...and after that Priya trying to force his ring on to his finger🤣🤣...Ram's expressions again killed me...🤣...jaise sach mein PHASS hi gaya...complete with ring🤣 That was the highlight of the ep for me, the way he mouthed sorry. I was expecting Priya also to do so but she did have an apologetic look and he forgave her before she even apologised anyway 🤣 Ram is really excellent at these micro-expressions

Oh and I also LOL'd at Vikram trying to give gyaan to Ram but Ram being SO frustrated...haha he's already planned a conference call after his sagaai too🤣...LOLLL I LOLLED at the bit where Sudhir tells Priya she should forgo going to work and she says, it's not like Mr Ram Kapoor isn't working today 🤣 🤣🤣 By the way, I really hope she doesn't continue to call him Mr Ram Kapoor after the marriage 😕 I don't want another Prerna/Mr Bajaj or Bani/Mr Walia situation. Especially since the characters are so close in age as well. I guess if Ayesha had married Ram she could call him "Mr Kapoor" 🤣🤣🤣

Hina - thank you so much sweetie! Your words are very sweet and encouraging 😳

Rups - thank you! Yes, I think most of us are still tuned in to see Ram and Priya only. I hope they are kept as genuine as possible as the show goes on.

Vasu asusual excellent post and I always seem to say this like a scratched record. Agree on almost all the points you have elucidated and highligted upon.

@ bold . yes this is what BALH is all about and endearing me to this each day or night rather. The story is also given importance and never is there a prolonged dull moment, when you wish to turn off the tv and switch it on again when RP makes an appearance. A few faux pauses we can always excuse. But overall the going is really great.

ooo... I so love Ram and his expressions .. damn ... how many expressions flit over his face in a microsecond... and damn .. does he look adorable!!! ..

Still watching only for Ram-Priya, and except for one misstep last thursday, I am happy... and damn that Ram Kapoor is so terrorised.. I am sure he is the one who would be all scared on the wedding day and night ...😆

Ohh.. loved reading all the posts here so far, wish I could gush more but you get the gist.. Ram kapoor can put all the barechested, oil machines, single expression macho wannabe heroes to shame ... damn how adorable he is ...😆

Will stop my gush fest ...

only one teeny tiny observation, during the disastrous compliment session, Ram-Priya were chipkofied completely, maybe because they wanted to put them together in the same frame.. hehe.. and later on, on the sofa, they were sitting like 10 miles apart.. I am pretty sure, agar unka bas chalta toh, and agar technology hoti toh, they would have ring exchange through web.. hehehe

LMAO so true🤣...I especially cracked up at how Ram put the ring on her...putting the ring on so precisely jaise koi chem lab ka experiment ho...he didn't even hold her hand😆 and Priya was probably going for the same but she HAD to end up holding his hand to PUSH the ring on to his finger🤣...Ram's expression when the ring finally goes all the way in...priceless🤣
