@Neha--- oh I didn't say that in response to your "stereotypical" comment. In fact i agree to your comment. The characters do seem stereotypical, but they still seem like tolerable stereotypical characters mainly because of subtle differences from the "typical" leads (just how you and Vasu mentioned).

@Vasu---Yeah it's good that they didn't show Ram as the typical "I don't believe in relationships/love" sorta MCP because there are bazillion such MCP rich business man characters on tv. lol now that they haven't shown him such character, they can't show the female lead trying to "change" the male lead with her morals and such lectures.😆

😆 Arre Amy, that's good na. Sakshi was a total Bhashan Devi in KGGK, so it will be great if she refrains from that in this show. As it is we have too many "pure", sanctimonious and irritating leads on TV to add another to that mix 😆

Oh no, no "bhashans" and such...those are way too boring and monotonous.
Let Ram and Priya be the characters who accept one another's flaws and learn to live with those instead of waging a campaign to "change/reform" one another for the better of society and such stuff. 😆

You summed it up really well. The show looks promising. And i agree with you for most of the parts. The family background looks so typical. Havent we seen this before?
Nevertheless the plot is quite gripping and ram and sakshi's chemistry is the cherry on the cake.

BAHL deals with a very sensitive issue. Hope ekta doesnt disappoint us.

You've summed it up really well! Definitely agree with the points made. The episode I thought was perfect for setting the scene and giving us an inside into the characters and their world, while also setting the scene for the future storyline. The last scene was soo sad but also shows the link that Priya and Ram will have which will eventually bring them together...loneliness and rejection from their families, although as you said Neha, the way Priya takes her mother's lack of attention in her stride is showing her sweet nature of her heart refusing to believe it's true. Also Vasu what you said about their (Ram and Priya's) "deficiencies" is so true, just because they are not yet married doesn't mean there's something wrong with them, it's society perceiving them to be like that!

Nice post.

i agree that its wrong to show that one needs to get married not to be lonely. But i think that part was handled well. it wasn't about being lonely because of not being married. Ram & priya are shown as two people who love taking care of people just don't get love back. They need to come together so that they have someone to understand them. Were they been unmarried people with nice caring family then it would have totally different thing.

loved your take..
i get it y Ram's mom is cold towards him...but i dont get it y Priya's mom is not that bothered abt Priya esp after seeing the precap where she isnt happy abt Priya's meagre salary even though that's the family's source of sustenance!
had thought that at least one of them wud hav a decent family support system, but mebe thats y they both will bond well down the track..
also, probably bcoz of the promos had high expectations from the dialogue writers, but they were pretty average...so i felt that was a major let down for me...
fingers crossed to see how the show progresses
😕

Agree with you on all counts. I have never watched an EK show before, but have heard a lot that she has the reputation to spoil her own show in the later stages. Hopefully thats not the case here.
The start may be cliched, but the leads not just acted, but lived their roles. Their essayment of the character was as realistic as possible. Every faculty of their body portrayed and played their part, from intense to subtle, from gentle to agressive movements.
If this trend contiues, then its worth watching this show sitting up late and Sony will have a clear winner in their kitty.
BTW I would give a 7/10 for the opening moves made by lead pair.
