Things I liked: mixed edition

So I was pretty busy the past few days and only just got to catch up on the epis...lots to blab on😆


1) This task business has come quite front and center now...first the biryani episode than the darkness episode...but what I liked in both cases was the way the intent was shown behind it...this exorcising of Yamini's demons that is happening...quite literally by the point of the Friday epi...the build up has been done nicely...


2) I like how subtly yet noticeably Yamini-Nikumb are bonding...in the aftermath of the biryani task...the subtle touches like the way Yamini puts her bowl out for a second helping of the soy bean dish...lol...and the way Nikumb smiles in response...then the convo after that where the whole trust factor is re-inforced again...trust is such an IMPORTANT part of a relationship developing/growing and it's hardly explored in most shows/movies/stories...I like that it is in this case...Yamini's faith in him growing through every new incident that takes place...her trust in him is quite child-like in a sense too...and then Nikumb has a tone of PRIDE in his voice as he tells her she validated his faith in her...he's like a proud teacher in many ways and Yamini is child-like in her trust/faith in him watching out for her...she has a tendency to do that...she justifies her father in the same way too.

And the way they both tell each other that there is lots yet to learn about each other😆



3) Azam-Nikumb's convos are getting more and more fun😆...I loved the scene they showed at night when Azam is randomly looking at some hair replacement treatment ad?😆😆...the dialogue-baazi in that scene...SUPERB👏...especially that line about Salman bhai ki bracelet ka photocopy or something? haha too good...and Azma calling himself a cheetah and Nikumb a sher...lol...and him telling him that now Shakuntala herself will come down to earth to tell him that even SHE couldn't be as good a Shakuntala as Yamini is😆


4) Yamini's enactments of Nikumb and herself talking in front of the mirror...lol I love this device the makers use...it gives us an alternate to every scene that has happened...this is the more fearless version of Yamini enacting all that she REALLY wanted to say to him...lol...and I love how she edits her own material as she goes along, reminding herself that Nikumb isn't that emotional😆...her love for DRAMA is starting to show more and more😆


5) Daddo is sooo mega adorable...I'm just growing to love her and Yamini's scenes more and more...the bonding b/w them, the way Yamini is always sitting there painting her toenails and Daddo is listening to all that Yamini wants to vent about Nikumb, the tasks etc...and the way Yamini's fear of darkness was re-introduced into this scene...


6) And finally the epi and a half dedicated to Nikumb's MEGA task for Yamini😆...jokes aside, the build up was needed...and while NM made a very brief appearance to muse about Nikumb's MADNESS like everyone else in the epi, it added to the build up quite well...building up the anticipation for the audience regarding what's at the end of this dark tunnel...light at last...a new chapter/phase in NY's relationship.


Nikumb obviously got the megaphones to make the sound RICOCHET around the room...thus to not let Yamini get a clear direct idea of where the sound is coming from...she'd have to find her way around on her own...so metaphoric of life and it's challenges in general...this was a very nicely written in arc I must say...we all struggle with different types of darkness, challenges in our own way...we fumble around, lost, wondering how we will find our way out...but eventually only we can help ourselves...that is what makes us stronger...only when we can fight our way our of the darkness on our own without depending on a hand to lead us out always. ...


I loved two things they showed in particular...one, Nikumb about to give up and turn on the lights after seeing how scared Yamini was and how things were getting out of hand since he'd lost her...and the way he flashed back to all the moments where her fear still reigned supreme and she hadn't yet managed to fully conquer it...and two, at that very moment Yamini calling out and saying she WILL find her way out...she found the courage inside her in that very moment...nicely juxtaposed...

Also loved the smile on Nikumb's face when he sees her trying to make her way out of that room...so proud yet again...


And then ofcourse finally the hug😆...Actually contrary to probable popular opinion, I liked the AFTERMATH more...the way Yamini looked up at Nikumb as she realized just what he'd saved her from...she toh hugged him out of fear and relief...but the look in her eyes later on was more interesting...also I found it cute how AWKWARDLY Nikumb was patting her on the back in response😆

Was "patiently" waiting for your post last week but figured you were busy with the 4th of July celebrations!

Didn't like the meat test, as a vegetarian felt that he misused his power there...Yes it all worked out in the end but coercion was too much for me ...people in authority shouldn't misuse their position, there is a fine line that you don't cross. But LOVED everything about the "demons of the dark" episode! That has to be my favourite episode of the show so far.

Can't write more..will try this evening!

Yes, the meat test was crossing the line no doubt and that is why PAAPI pyaare and everyone else there was throwing such a fit and rightfully...but I can allow them these many creative liberties considering how much more crappier storylines are in general in daily soaps...it was a test of faith there...to me, what was more noticeable was Yamini's attempts to gather her courage again and again and push herself on this...

He wasn't coercing her from a position of authority...he was coercing her for the task on hand...he wasn't telling her to eat it cuz he's her director or teacher...he left it up to her...the whole point was to see how much she can adapt or push herself in EXTREME circumstances...and this was all still pretty hypothetical...not like he took her to an actual jungle, killed a deer in front of her and told her to eat it😆

Yes, demons of the dark epi no doubt was brilliant.

I get that he is a good guy and that he wasn't trying coerce her. It was all about getting her to come out of her shell and grow as a person. But Yamini has a bully for a father her daddy issues run deep...without psychoanalyzing it too much I felt very uncomfortable with the meat issue.

Yes this show is a million times better than what is being served us so trying not to judge too harshly.
