Episode 8
Office
Sanchi is working in her work space..
Anil comes to her and says..
Anil :- Sanchi, we will have lunch together.. I need to talk to you..
Sanchi (understanding what the "talk" is going to be is hesitant) :- Can we talk some other day?
Anil :- Sanchi, I am your friend and I have your wellbeing at heart. I would like to talk today
Sanchi (with a great sign) :- Ok.
Lunch time
Anil and Sanchi having lunch..
Anil :- How are things at home now?
Sanchi :- It is fine..
Anil :- Why did you have to go through with this contract??
Sanchi :- I didn't have any other option.. At home things were getting more problematic.. There was no other way..
Anil after some thought :- Shravan loves Tara?? Does tara love Shravan??
Sanchi :- I think so..
Anil :- What kind of a girl is Tara?
Sanchi :- Must be good since Shravan ji loves her..
Anil :- Do you love shravan..
Sanchi is silent..
Anil :- Sanchi …
Sanchi :- If wishing Shravanji to be happy in life is love.., wishing him to get everything he aspires for; is love, then may be…
Anil :- even after knowing it is not going to be returned..
Sanchi :- You don't plan these things.. it happens.. he was my only ray of hope when I was going through tough times..
Anil :- But, he is going to leave you after 6 months..
Sanchi is silent..
Anil:- Is there any chance that he will forget Tara and stick on to this marriage?
No answer from Sanchi..
Anil :- Sanchi, thinking practically, you have 2 options in front of you now. 1. Make Shravan forget Tara and fall in love with you. 2. Stop getting attached to Shravan, complete 6 month, hope all your promises will be fulfilled by then, move on with your life..
Sanchi :- I do not want to create any problems for Shravan.. Shravan loves Tara.. if she will make him happy, let it be so..
Anil :- Then the only option available for you is to move on.. Each day you spent like this, you will get more and more attached to him and you will be broken when he leaves you for Tara.
Sanchi is really sad hearing all these.. she knew all of these things but hearing it from someone else is something else..
Anil :- I care about you Sanchi.. I don't want to see you hurt any more than is required..
Sanchi gives a teary smile.. Anil takes up his handkerchief and offers it to Sanchi.. Background you can see Shravan standing.. Sanchi accepts the kerchief and wipes her tears.. Shravan seeing this is very upset.. He remembers the time he had done the same thing for Sanchi.. He walks away..
Shravan (thinking) :- Why should I care? After all contract is the only thing that is keeping us together.. We do not have any relationship for me to be upset about it.. Let her do whatever she wants..
Evening – After office hours
Shravan in Sanchi work area..
Shravan :- Are you done with your job or are you still going to use "I have work" dialog
Sanchi is irritated :- It is not an excuse, I have work..
Shravan :- Really? Or is it an excuse to hang out with Anil
Sanchi is shocked.. suddenly someone from behind
Anil :- Why should you care Shravan?
Shravan (getting angry) :- She is my wife..
Anil :- wife by contract only…
Shravan is surprised that Anil knows this.. He looks at Sanchi and Anil.. Both of them just look at him calmly..
Anil :- Sanchi has some work here.. If you can wait, you can take her home. If not, I will drop her home..
Shravan is really really angry.. he shouts :- Do whatever you want (and walks out)..
Sanchi and Anil look at each other.. Sanchi is really sad..
Anil :- Don't worry.. Its ok..
Sanchi nods and goes back to her work…
Sanchi Shravan bedroom
Shravan is sitting on the couch when Sanchi walks in..
Shravan (Sarcastically) :- You are home soo early.. What happened?
Sanchi :- What is your problem Shravan ji?
Shravan :- what is my problem? Have you ever thought how it will look for me when people comment on you and Anil..
Sanchi :- Anil is my friend and colleague.. He was just dropping me off after work..
Shravan :- Then what where you doing having lunch with him?? Why did you tell him about our contract??
Sanchi :- All your friends know about it?? Why shouldn't my friend know about it?
Shravan :- How do you know that he is your friend? How do you know that he is not taking advantage of you and your situation?
Sanchi :- Why do you care Shravan ji?
Shravan :- because … because.. whatever said and done, we live here together and I don't want anything bad happening to you..
Sanchi is surprised to hear this.. Shravan is equally surprised for saying this.. they look at each other for sometime.. Sanchi with hope in her eyes… then Sanchi recollects Anil's words "you will be broken when he leaves you for Tara"
Sanchi :- Shravanji you don't have to worry about me.. I can take care of myself..
Shravan does not know what to say.. he just looks at her..
Night
Shravan is in bed and Sanchi in couch.. Both Sanchi and Shravan are trying to sleep.. but cant…
Shravan gets up from the bed and walks towards the window.. He sees that Sanchi is also awake.. They look at each other.. Shravan goes and sits in his chair.. Sanchi sits on the couch..
Sanchi :- You cant sleep Shravan ji..
Shravan :- No.. you?
Sanchi :- me too..
Shravan :- I don't know what both of us did to get stuck in this contract marriage..
Sanchi :- It might be god's wish.. what can we do?
Shravan :- hmmm.. after this is over, I will marry Tara. What will you do Sanchi?
Sanchi :- I don't know.. I am not sure I will be welcomed back in Mama Mami's house.. Divorce is not something which they can accept that easily..
Shravan is sad.. what will you do then..
Sanchi :- I am trying to learn jewellery design now.. so that at the end of 6 months I can get a job somewhere else. May be move to some other place where there are other working single girls..
Shravan is sad and comes near Sanchi.. he does not know what to say..
Shravan :- Sanchi.. eh.. I .. eh..
Sanchi :- It s ok Shravanji.. maybe that is my fate.. everything happens for good.. (making a joke) ..may be wherever I go, I might meet my Mr right there..
Shravan and Sanchi look at each other.. both of them don't know what to say or what to do.. After a few moments, Shravan gives a sad smile and goes back to bed.. Sanchi also lies down.. Both of them seems to be lost in thought..
