Your logic is correct. Sons however were the first-priority properties of fathers.

Also, I don't think he was even thinking about them, Shakku mama reminded him of Drau, and uske baad there was the whole Vastraharan fiasco. Maybe, if Drau had given in quietly, the next stop were kids?

Actually as per Manusmriti if you are in bad condition and are unable to look after your family hence you have to let go your sons first followed by daughters and last is your wife.

I know this was a completely different situation not actually letting them go because he wasn't able to take care of them but still the logic holds true here as well, I guess after brothers, son should have been the first one to be staked as per Dharma

That whole scene was messed up. In the texts when Dury was roaming there were no daasis around. It was a mayavi mahal so daasis kinda functioned like house-elves.

None of it was dharma. Suggestions were from Shakuni remember, woh toh koi dharma ka jhanda gaadhne wala nahi tha na. 😳

And the Bhabhi Dear do tease each other. Even what BRC Draupadi did wasn't out of limits

Was Pandavas sons there at that time? i thought they were born during vanvaas because while going to vanvaas they were not with them. Had Subhadra been there would she also be staked?

No the kids were born before the Vanwaas. And they didn't go for Vanwaas because they were not asked to go and that wasn't the stake in the second game of dice that was only for Draupadi and Pandavas

I don't think he could have staked Subhadra though, an elder brother can have the right on younger brothers, but I doubt they have any right on the wives of the younger brother. Still can't be sure about this. No one would have been intelligent enough to make rules for such situations

Yeah

Why didn't he stake his wife instead of gambling away wife of his 4 brothers?

One point I would like to reiterate. Yudi was not vocally staking anyone, all suggestions were made by Shakuni and he simply kept agreeing to them.

I personally believe, Shakuni didn't think of other wives/kids because Drau was the most prominent of their wives, and they all remembered her from their failures in the swayamvar.

When Yudhisthira lost the twin brothers, Shakuni provoked him by saying that this makes it seem that Bhimasena and Arjuna receive higher regard. Then Yudhisthira put the two at stake followed by himself. After he lost all his brothers and himself, Shakuni suggested him to put Panchali at stake to free himself.

So, I think the intention of the conspirators was to humiliate the Pandavas and Draupadi because the latter held the highest regard and prominence. Others didn't mean much.
