I never understand that scene

Hey guys. I think BRC Mahabharat didn't tell us few things in detail. I am never able to understand that scene where Raja Drupad and Rishi doing yajna and then he says "Maharani snaan kar rahi hai" and then the rishi becomes angry and then suddenly draupadi coming out of the fire. i mean what does that mean?? Can anyone explain this scene to me. I think BR chopra skipped some parts.

They were donig the putra-kameshti yagya, the same one that Raja Dasharath did. According to the Vedas, no yagya can be properly done without the presence of the dharma-patni of the yagya-karta.

Now if Drupad-rani was there, she would received some kheer or something and the kids would be born in the normal way, but since she wasn't there, Dhrishty and Drau were born directly from the agni-kunda.

The part about the queen not being available due to her bath is something added on here in BRC: there's nothing to that effect in the original. Neither is the part about Yag or Upayag - one of them declining to officiate the yagna due to Drupada's vengeful motivations

Haan, even I don't remember having seen it in the KMG/Kaliprasanna edition. So, according to the texts, what happened exactly?
