the color effect? i think that's a gradient. Or you make a new layer fill it with a color you like (like orange) and set the blend mode to screen or overlay and adjust the opacity.

U can see the name is quite blurred in this. At the same time pls have a look at the same font with stroke in the below siggy :



It looks crisp and clear. Does anybody know y this happens to me. I use photoshop and pls it doesnt have anythign to do with the format it is saved (like jpeg, png, gif, etc), cos when i am opening a new document with 300dpi on photoshop itself this is coming like that. set your new document to 72dpi....that should fix it.

Just change the resolution: Image -> Image Size
a) un-check Resample Image; this way it won't modify the displayed image size; you'll notice, maybe, that it changes the "Document size" - if you were to print it; I never print my icons, so...
b) put 72 pixels/inch for Resolution

duplicate the image and set it to screen...it should brighten the image then do the coloring...

you can try these steps

*new raster layer fill in with dark blue and set to lighten

*new rastor layer fill in with gold and set to burn at 18

*merge all layers

*duplicate and set to screen

for the circles just add a rastor layer add the circles and put them to hardlight or screen

u could try that..or u could uncheck anti-alias (aa)
