Btw, if someone color their edits from.scratch (like using adjustment layers instead of psd) can you share some tips as to how you start, anything you keep in mind while coloring etc etc.

You know me ?? 😃 Why can't I pin point your UN ?? 😕 Come on tell me which forum we've interacted in. I faintly remember seeing you at bollywood forum. 😳

As for making your own psd or coloring edits from the stratch , I basically start with curves . It does two things , enhances the brightness in a way that gives a clear picture in my mind as to how I want to color it or which colour should I enhance.

Another good thing about starting with curves is , if you keep it just above edit it won't add grain.

@Rosh, I've been through LJ icons tutorials. A few of them. I've a lot more bookmarked. But I do think we should provide tutorials for those who are enthusiastic to make icons yet kind of new with photoshop. Because frankly speaking LJ tutorials are not for everyone. Certainly not for beginners.

Hmm that sounds nice. My all coloring ends up looking same anyway no matter what I change. Coloring inspiration is mostly sano saher cause they make their siggies look very even and like the original pic, nothing extra. I want to achieve that.

Guys post a siggie or icon you want to recreate/curious about and then rest can put their tuts on it. I am big believer about duplicating something lol. If you have an inspiration you work towards it and with time you get your own touch (barring copy cats who just steals others style)
