or if u have a white background like u showed in selena's image..best is use Magic wand tool (press "W")-check this link just select white background with it and then press "delete"(IMP:Make sure u r background layer is "Unlocked" - to do that- Double click the layer>Ok to unlock) and now u can save it as .Png that is with transparent background!!
