No bashing rules?

Hi!

Are there any "no bashing" rules in the forum? In regards to not only fellow posters but about actors and their looks as well? I know alot of other forums I visit implicitly follow such rules to avoid bad posters, posts, and vibes. Afterall, who knows who reads these posts...

Shaista, yes, there is a distinct rule in the forum, where you cannot personally attack anyone. Any instigating post, written solely with the purpose of instigating or provoking anyone is either deleted or closed. We routinely pm members who personally attack anyone or write flaring topics.

Until recently, this forum had been quite peaceful. But difference of opinions can flare tempers and sometimes, those with views different from the majority find it difficult to rally their views as those in the majority out write them. Hence some posts get written in the heat of the moment and also due to frustrations that they cannot make others understand their point of view and they are not amply supported.Now if we delete these posts, then they might feel we are unfair and partial.Hence we try to sort them out with more patience as we don't want anyone to feel they are not being given a fair deal. Obviously we don't succeed all the time. Probably our biggest crime is we ourselves love a character who is not loved by them. Hence when we ask the members who agree with our pov not to write such posts, they agree readily and say sorry but when it is done with a member who does not agree...well, they think they are being singled out. No amount of pleading or persuance seems to work 😕

Perhaps it is time to take serious action against those who do not follow the forum rules.

We definitely have certain Rules and Code of Conduct in IF. As Mods, we certainly can BAN certain members who do not follow the Rules of IF. But we Mods also follow a pattern of working wherein, we give atleast 3 warnings, either in the section, or in the form of PMs, to the member concerned. We actually try our best to bring about peace in the forum, try our best to make all members understand, give them a chance to understand their folly. Even if things do not work fine, do we think of the ultimate thing, i.e. BAN?

So please, friends, i think we are really nearing the ultimate stage now, in terms of the quality of posts posted by some members. So PLEASE TAKE THIS AS A LAST WARNING, THIS TIME , WE MEAN THAT THIS WILL BE THE LAST WARNING....

Thank you for the post😊. Good to know the details and the rules exist!!! I guess it just agged me to no end when "they" use an actors name and then call them ugly (WRONG). I mean, the girl could read these posts and be very hurt. Not only her but any other actor who is insulted thus- their looks I mean. Just think its vulgar and crass... and very childish. At about.com they take down the post and give them a warning- just like you do. Thanks once again for the details... hopefully, adults can come on here and act accordingly. On the whole, I think this forum is great and many wonderful people post here... its just a few children that need to be sent to their corners.

Please FRIENDs we are here to expand our horizons and meet and make new friends, learn more about the other side of the world. Please do not make this a battle field for non issues.
