Raj Kapoor was said to have held the biggest of them, Amitabh Bachchan held them till he stopped not-so-long ago and Jeetendra still does - we're talking about Diwali card parties, or 'taash' parties as they are popularly called. Come Diwali and the Bollywood biggies (and even some smallies) dust up their best card tables. Crores of rupees passes hands in a matter of hours.

Bollywood couple Archana Puran Singh and Parmeet Sethi believe that money has a very important role to play too. The Sethis invite around fifty people every year and have a rollicking time. "So much money is passed from one hand to another, so we decide beforehand on the budget. But Parmeet always ends up putting double or triple that amount at stake. Our Madh island house proves to be a perfect setting and we have most of the industry people descending upon it! Parmeet is a born gambler. We look forward to it more for the fun of it than losing or winning money," says Archana.

Anju Mahendroo, who religiously holds a party every year for her trusted circle of friends - which includes Poonam Sinha and others - says, "I don't know how many will turn up at my party because many parties are happening in Bollywood. I invite about twenty odd people and we have small games. Not much money is at stake."
