But let me take a step back and say television and movies are good in many ways. It does get children interested in the culture, music, dance, etc. And I think it is a good way to learn the language. I was born in the US (my parents sent me to india for high school to learn the culture), but I learned hindi when I was young by watching movies. Of course back in the day I was watching movies like Naram Garam, Gol Maal, Saate pe Saata. So even though vazz mentioned that she brings out the lease (hehe) when her kids are in front of the television, I guess some good is coming out of it.
I am not against TV. I let them watch things that I think are good for them and Zee and Sony do not figure in that list yet. My kids are too young to follow serials anyways....
They really do not have to see Malaika Arora in Kaal or any other item numbers this early in their life 😆
My son watches Sa re ga ma pa at times, but now since the rule is no TV from Mon-Thu until the kids sleep, we do not watch that either. Infact Zee and Sony are going away. Since we are not watching it much, why bother having it 😊
They watch kid programmes on weekends on the other channels including Discovery and Animal Planet.
My kids love SRK... they watched him in KHNH , K3G and Swades.. so its not that I do not let them watch any movie.. but I really need to hold a leash on some of the stuff that comes on Zee or Sony...😆

vazz,
I was just joking -- if you are kids are little, then of course putting a lease on thier television watching habits are necessary.
SRK is great! Most kids love him. When we went for the SRK show in Chicago we were sitting by several kids who kept asking when SRK uncle was coming 😊 how cute!
I know you were... none taken seriously... when I mean 'leash' it is an invisible leash like the ones for pets 😃....
