JH's mom was poor man version of "chaelbol hero mom" where instead of money she uses "tears" to break them apart! ... It was utter nonsense what they showed .. but then the drama doesn't have any other "crisis" angle so they used this track which imo could have been avoided! .. Also FL is another piece of work .. tho not her fault but she should have discussed it with ML .. when ML didn't budge when her mom got involved and tried to back him off ... why should she so easily give it up just becoz it's "poor man's mom and tears" .. 🤢

🤣 ... My posts following yours were my general thoughts on the show! .. I was about to drop the show too for various reasons but resisted since I really started to root for FL! ..

It's funny how I went in to watch it for ML but ended up liking FL instead ... I really didn't like BGM much! .. His character doesn't work for me ... neither does his acting .. He acted OTT "cutesy and cheesy" .. like what even! .. His OTT expression with pouty lips just put me off ... 😆 .. BGM is good looking no doubt .. but since he's got a feminine face, he becomes "cringy"the moment he starts acting cutesy .. I get he's young ... but come on, he's 28, 29 .. Usually Noona romance has "chemistry" if ML is mature enough and balances his lack of age with his attitude .. but here it doesn't work .. I wish his character arc was different! .. Little more mature in his expressions and varied layer to his character .. But all we get is monotonous, too sweet, childish and cringe-y ML ... reason why their "chemistry" is bland ... So I get why you couldn't see them going all out with kissing ... 😆

FL is the saving grace of this romance ... Her acting isn't bad either ... EP 13 end where her tears start rolling without any words break your heart! ... She did so well! .. I think that's one my fav scene of the entire drama even when everyone is pissed at the situation! .. 😆 .. This drama gives you another variation of a "strong" woman ... the subtle portrayal of "strength" which our FL embodies is what worked for me!

I would rec'd the drama only for her and side characters, not to forget the OSTs and fairy-tale animations (my most fav thing)! ... Rest the drama is pretty mediocre and can be skipped!

Sam..On Bogummy being cute and clingy..I dont mind..They casted him thats why..And I am fida over his smile..😆But I do agree..If ML had more attitude and strong, taking no crap..It would have been more intense!!! Here its like a breezy melo!!!

On kissing scenes..I dont particulary feel awkward..As they were professional..But yes..The intensity is missing!!! Again mainly due to charaterization!!! Even in books leads due to characteriztion and writing have scorching kisses!!!

I want him to pick up a project where he plays a mature character .. someone who is a deep thinker, man of few words kind of a role! .. I would fall for him right there ... He's got all the right features for such a role! .. 😉 ..

But in this show he doesn't do anything to me ... bummer! .. Their kisses are professional, no doubts .. he's got a lot better at it since his moonlight drama .. but becoz of lack of chemistry those kisses don't do anything ... Such a waste of well done kissing scenes!

I didn't know the show is based on a book .. I bet it must have better characterization for having such scorching kissing scenes!
