Hello everyone I have a question to ask..I am 22 yrs old senior in uni. Long story short..I started watching k dramas when I was junior in HS and I literally lived in it for many months. My mom thought it was some kind of growing up phase and it will disappear eventually but it didnt happen. I am still crazy about K dramas (means I can watch without subs, I am not Korean). Am I too old for it? How about you guys? How old are you guys?

I am 21 years old, senior year in university in the U.S...I have been living in this country for more than 6 years now!😊...Let me tell you my childhood was basically moving from one country to another! So, I have seen a lot, and met a lot of different people from all over the world..My K drama addiction actually started just a year ago!! One thing to know about me I live in my own imaginary world, so I had no idea what K dramas, T dramas, J dramas, Thai dramas were! I know, my best friend is Korean so I should have known about it!😆..But as I said I live in my own little world totally oblivious to other outside world!😆
Haha, yeah I basically started watching all the above mentioned dramas during summer of last year!! I practically stayed up nights to catch up w/ all I had missed! I was like "SHIT!! What kind of world was I living in?!!" ..My parents don't know about it..😆..They only know that I do watch dome random dramas w/ my best friend..but they have no idea how absolutely crazy I am about them!😉

My parents are just really easy going people, and since I have always be very obedient, and introvert person, and have no life..LOL...except these K dramas!😆Yeah..that's about it! Great post! I would love to know about others here!😃

Ah I may be the Unnie of the forum😆 MMBG I don't think you're too old!!

I am 25 years old, currently in my final year of medical school and believe me, I thought I would grow out of this phase years ago, alas, once a kdrama addict, always a kdrama addict😆 It's been about 7 years now, since watching asian dramas!

I was actually introduced to Kdramas from India-forums - funny right? Met some of my best friends on here - TIki and Priya - from JJKN forums and they were the ones who introduced me around 2005/2006 with my first drama - Goong! So I literally owe it to IF for my addiction lol

Tiki and I were the first admin's of this forum - we pretty much pushed to get Asian Show Forums on IF so that anyone else interested in asian dramas could have a place to chat and I was admin for a long while - pulled out due to bigger responsibilities in real life - BUT of late, I think I've made a comeback lol my drama watching has never stopped in between though!

Kdramas led me to finding Kpop - and ultimately Big Bang. My journey into more asian entertainment culture lead me to opening up Taeyang's first international fanblog (still running today!) and I have been very lucky to meet some amazing korean fans and be acknowledged by his korean fan blogs (if you visit the site, AlwaysTaeyang, you can read my interview with them)...so if you love something, open a blog!! 😃

From Kdramas, I ended up watching Jdramas, Tdramas, Thai and even Filipino...you name it, I've probably tried a drama in that language (yes, lets add in Turkish, Russian and Spanish!)... At first I was a secretive drama addict, but of lately, almost everyone close to me knows my love of asian drama and culture lol

So there's my little biography, I feel like you all know all about me now!! I am so happy to see more activity in this forum😃

I'm almost 20 and I just started watching KDramas beginning of this year and boy what a journey it has been! 😃I'm so glad I was introduced to KDramas. It's like an escape from reality and a pick me up when it's a bad day. KDramas never fail to make you happy in some way. 👍🏼
I still have a whole bunch of old and new shows to catch up on so it might take a few months or years but you are definitely not too old! 😊 From watching KDramas, I picked up alot of the words and learned a lot about their culture. Oh and the OST's never get old! This led me to listening to KPop! Right now Ringa Linga by Taeyang and Incurable Disease from Secret is stuck in my head lol.

I'm an introvert too. Sometimes, actually most times I rather be watching a KDrama rather than socializing. I still love going out though! I got my best friend addicted to KDramas and now she's more obsessed than I am 😆.my parents don't know about it and they probably won't since they're not easy going and are strict.

I look forward to reading everyone's story!!❤️

Haha, glad to meet you here too! Yeah, that is the main reason I am an introvert, as moving a lot and practically leaving your just new friends behind is hard! But, now I love being just by myself...I don't have many friends, but those that are few I cherish them in my life!😊..I am not fluent per say, but I am fluent in French, Spanish, Parsi, Hindi and English...and now I understand 75% Korean w/o subs...I love learning different languages!

OMO!! I loved watching Dong Yi and Dae Jang Geum!!!!! These two are seriously the best historical dramas I have ever watched! PERIOD!😃Oh, yeah I have close hispanic friends who are just as obsessed as I am to K dramas!😆

@tutu982 OMG I am introvert too. Is it a thing for K Drama lovers?
And single!!! I watch so many romantic dramas i guess raise the bar so high. Why cant I? Since G dragon ties shoe lace of his lady, Kim Hyun Joong carries sanitary stuff for his girl...Chincha I am hopeless!!

pssshhh...too old? You're too young. There are ppl on youtube, viki, and dramafever that are edging on their 40's even 50's with children, young and old, and are married still fangirling, still obsess with kdramas. I'm 19 to say the least but my love is not going to die no matter what.

my parents have learned to just sigh and walk away and leave me to my madness. they usually ask which type of drama im watching (like is it taiwanese or chinese or have i now moved on to another country altogether...which i have) i was already into the whole manga and anime thing so when i found out about kdramas and (funny how i never knew japanese dramas existed but read and watch everything else) i got introduced to kdramas by accident around 2010 searching for an anime and i came across Boys Over Flowers and was in love, love, love.

Its been three years about to be four and there are times when i have had a hiatus as i have been disappointed with so many dramas that i called it quits. but just like always i go right back. marry him if you dare pulled me out of my slump and then i found secret and that instantly have me on full and complete drama mode. although right now my time is getting less and less im still watching dramas and loving every minute of it.

i think personally, i cant stop as its a nice deviation from most american shows and plus its just too interesting and too much of an impact on me for to give it up.but its up to you if ur not interested, if u personally dont want to watch then go ahead, but if u still are loving every minute of it...then i dont really see the problem.

I will be one of those married fangirls if I ever find a man who can understand my drama obsession 😆

And I totally agree, I've had phases where I throw my hands up at some disappointing dramas and then get pulled right back into it!

Of course K pop!! MAMA awards 2013!! Did anyone watch BIG BANG's performance?! And G-Dragon freaking rocked that stage!!!!!!😃 I know I am most of the time disappointed w/ other K pop groups who aren't as mesmerizing on the stage as BIG BANG are! They are too magnetic and charming on the stage! BIG BANG's level is so high when they perform!! NO ONE BEATS THEM when they perform LIVE!
Super Junior, EXO, 2PM, 2AM, TVQX (I miss those 5 together! Jaejoong and the other 4)! I only like 2NE1 in girl group though! I don't like SNSD that much, they are very dull to me when they perform, most of the time they attract people w/ their stylish clothes but that is clearly my opinion! I am never charmed or even blown away by their performance! Sorry if you are a "SONE" fan...And now YG's new boy group "WINNER"..I wish YG had given them another name!!
