But Empress Ki is engaging right from the start of the 1st episode. Gives somewhat an Idea about plot and what are we to expect from the story.

Such a strong plot. SO STRONG! The politics, the battles, the manipulations, the mind games, the betrayal, the loyalty, REVENGE, the struggle for power so many contrasting elements!!

I mean almost every character is hungry for power! Whether it El Temur, or his @#%$ Sons, whether its general Bayan or that loser Yom, whether its the empress Tansili or Empress Dowager. For the sake of power anyone is ready to stoop to any rotten level! Whether it is making one infertile or making one miscarry, whether its killing your own kin or whether its betraying you superior general or even your savior.

Bloody hell, things change within fraction of seconds!

About the characters, i'm gonna GUSHHH about Ta Hwan! I guess the story of Empress ki till now (and i guess it will contunue to) is building up perfectly for his character development. I'm loving the layers his character has A coward loser puppet king who is struggling from with to the level of being suffocated. You cannot help but pity him, firstly the struggle to keep alive, and in the process reluctantly betraying you faithful and trusted savior friend. That's one burden that will stay with him forever. The downfall of the emperor and the death of nyang's father. He is day and night dying in that guilt. Apart from the that the frustrations of being a coward and a puppet king. Suffocated between his mother and El Temur. Having to marry a snob of an empress, having to unwillingly impregnate a concubine. How miserable can your life be. I'm just waiting for his character growth. Excited to know how will he break free to be a great King. To overcome his fears and being a mature decisive and brave king. I just cannot wait.

And how much i'm loving his seungnyang obsession! Just how beautifully they are developing their relationship SHEER SHEER SHEER BEAUTY! i mean i know its king wang yu in her heart, but then their story did not get as much detailing as Ta Hwan and Seungnyaang's

i cannot freaking stop squeeing seeing their chemistry! Te Hwan's curiosity, his INTRIGUE towards the maid that resembles his seungnyaang. That inability to decipher why does her eyes have such hatred and grudge! His childish attempts to impress her. SO beautifully shown! The hurt when he gets to know that she is the seungnyang who posed as a man to save the king! Her loyalty to the king, her feelings towards the king are like tearing him apart. He decides to not go to her, but is unable to do so. Ahh so so so so so perfect! such awesome detailing.

I loved the scenes where she was about to kill him for revenge, THE DIALOGUES man! she says maybe i should not blame you,in the same way you shouldn't blame me. may be its out fate I know Nyaang has feelings for emperor Wang yu, her loyalties lie there. But you cannot help but notice a few places the pity and the sad feeling she feels for Te Hwan. Ha Ji Won potray's the nuances so well!! What a fab job she did portraying a man and a woman! Its a journey i believe for her character too! From a warrior to a maid to a concubine to finally the empress! I am so excited to the transitions! Ha Ji Won will make it such a treat to watch!

It would be so much fun to see how seung nyang's and Ta Hwan' relationship evolves. We have seem the fun bits of their relationship when they were servant master. (i just love the fact Te Hwan is mastering the art of archery remembering the training Seungnyang gave!) the funny war of words and the bickering was very cute. Now they are undergoing the hurt phase, would love to see lot of angst and romance! Now that he has both know their identities its going to be fun.

We all know that seung nyaang will end up with Ta Hwan just need to see whether her heart will end up with him as well or not.

Talking about Wang Yu, i have nothing much to say. His character is not bad, but not that exciting as much as Ta Hwan. Its an ideal and perfect character. its someone who everyone look upto and the one with everyone's loyalty's. I liked the bits where Ta Hawan is insecure with Wang yu, unable to get why everyone i ready to side with him more and not ready to give up on their loyalties even though Yuan has more to offer than koryo. Even at the very start of the show, they show Ta Hwan insecure about Wang yu regarding Seungnyaang. So its gonna be about his insecurities to, its like a bar set by wang yu, which he has to match up to win seungnyaang's heart or his people's heart Oh fish i just made this all about Ta Hawan as well 🤣 but hey i like joo jin mo, have loved some of his movies, but its really about the character. Uff i always feel for the flawed ones! sigh.

Oh god i am so glad i got to rant and gush!
