To Donna, since you didn't like the K version, I would recommend you to watch the Japanese version. I have loved all his shows (the lead actor). I think there is also his show called the Rich Man and Poor Woman!! That is a must watch for everyone!! I learnt a lot about business and life from that show!

Yeah, Playful Kiss was annoying as hell! 😆..I just watched it for the eye candy, just like I watched BOF for that matter!!

Maybe later cause my main issue was with the story. I don't know if the plot precisely the same for the J version. Obsessing over a stranger so much that you are willing to change your identity for him? And then pretty much becoming his servant and let his girlfriend order you around on top him already being the big boss? That was hard to swallow. The actors didn't help much either.
If the J version has it any better then, I will give it a shot. But, at this point clinginess is a total turn off.

I'm the type to drop a drama REALLY fast if it doesn't hold my interest, so I really don't make it through bad ones, but def get some sour grapes in the bunch...

I will agree with "When a Man Loves" - totally annoying, and the female lead just gets on my nerves, dropped that one pretty fast
"Nice Guy" - was okay, again, I wasn't fully invested in it

I really liked "My Name is Kim Sam Soon" but I wasn't one of the ones who absolutely LOVED it (there were a bunch of those at one point)

Here's my quick list...

- Queen In-Hyun's Man: I'm probably the only one on the planet who did not enjoy this one. Something about it just bored me to death. Maybe it was all the hype, I dunno.

-Lie to Me: this one had so much potential and turned out to be such a dud...I hate seeing Yoon Eun Hye in such terrible roles

-Faith: Again, Lee Min Ho wasted. Story just dragged on for way too long

- This Winter, the Wind Blows: just too much melo going on..I couldn't stand all the blandness - but it was beautiful to look at

- Playful Kiss: this one was just annoying, mainly cause of the male lead, he should stick to singing.

- Will it Snow for Christmas?: I watched it cause I love Go Soo and I think he's amazing and fantastic, but this story was just sooo slow and depressing

I don't why but I just didn't have a connection with either of the two leads. It is a melodrama and that genre just doesn't sit well with me.

I have a strong dislike for aegyo. Grown ass men and women acting like toddlers. That shit is creepy. The woman in the Queen In-Hyun was downright dumb and infantalized. The man was a total mansplainer and to top it all of, a truck load of tears and drama. Still don't know what the hype was about. I can't believe I forgot about that drama. Definitely a candidate in my list.
Lie to me was saved for me because COLA KISS. Otherwise, I agree.
Faith: agree.
This winter: have not watched. Just knew it would be crappy seeing the promos.
Will it snow: never heard of it and by the sound of it, I am glad I didn't.

Actually the J version of it, doesn't even have a girlfriend!! It doesn't go into that type of drama at all!! It is actually really amazing!! I will recommend you to watch it when u get time!

sorry for scooting in between...but yes i have heard from many people that Japanese is the best version of Hana yori dango..It may sound lame but i have to confess, tho' direction was not that powerful in BOF but the BG's and OST 's took it to another level..I watched BOF like 2 yrs ago, and till date i listen to their songs..For me it was the music for which i really fell rather than the story which is not a very good thing cuz intentionally or unintentionally BOF music is able to cover up the Flaws in story for me..lolzzz😆😆

i recently watched Lie to me, well!!! it was average but i was highly disappointed with the end episodes...they were literally stretched..i mean for me part at which the yoon eun hye got her job back should be the ending ...but they dragged with crap lost and found thing which was literally ott for me

Yes, for sure Hana Yori Dango is the best version with a great cast!! I personally have watched it like 10 times. I fell in love with Gu Jun Pyo's character more in that version! It was beautifully executed by the actor. There was the anger, the possessiveness in his character which never really developed in BOF. But in J vesrsion, his character was kept intact till the end! Yes, there was growth but he only showed that change to his better half..:)

And, guess what I fell in love with the ending of Hana Yari Dango! One of the best endings of any Asian show I have watched!

I think I will rightly say this that people should watch Hana Kimi and Hana Yari Dango, as they anytime top the K versions of them!

To Donna, it hasn' even been 6 months that I started watching J,K and Taiwanese shows. But, at the age of 21, I still go all *swoon* over BOF just b/c of these yummilicious eye candy I get to watch..No other reason..😆

Answer me 1997 is a good one! I didn't hate it, but neither did I enjoy watching it! It was really boring for me to watch!

Hmm...I guess I beg to say differently, I really do love Thai shows! I know that many would be put off by the rape scenes and then the love track! But, I guess Thai shows typically go the way of Mills and Boons novels. And, I used to love reading them and don't mind it. I am not saying I enjoy every Thai show, but there are a couple of them which are my favorites as the heroes grovel and Thai actors are just really good looking that is another reason...😆..pretty lame I know but can't stop drooling over them...But, I think it's been a year or two that Thai shows have kinda stop the rape scenes. Before, it was in pretty much every one of them. But, I haven't seen them lately in the 2012-2013 shows.

Thai shows follow a pattern...Hate..Lust..Attraction..Misunderstanding...Rape...Ex gf, bf , in-laws, and love...and Rich Billionaire/Millionaire and the Poor Girl. Hate to say it, but if I am in a mood for it I typically enjoy them if executed and acted well..

Watched prosecutor princess: for me it was average, though I didn't hate it.

Mary stayed out all night: heard good and bad reviews about it, but haven't watched it yet.

I never knew that about thai dramas. I guess that is something to avoid. I would not be routing for a rapist getting anything in life without doing time let alone getting near the woman he raped. As for the dude who was in Mary Stayed Out All Night was only good in his first drama. But, even then the script was bad. If you see him now, you realize what years of partying has done to his body and possibly his choice of drama scripts. He should just stick to the singing part if he is any good at that.

Faith: True that. No, not the Lee Min Ho part. Damn that man is fine. If it were not acting, I would be on a flight to Korea for my personal pursuit of happiness.😉
Other dramas were not that exciting from the promos so, I skipped. I suppose I made the right decision.

Thai dramas are sadistic...Herione feels some feelings towards the hero. Hero and Heroine do have feelings for each other but b/4 they confess hero misunderstands her (main reason money since he is so rich..ughh!!)...And, then hero gets jealous if heroine starts talking or spends time with another guy. This makes hero misunderstands her more (blaming her that she has so many guys around, why can't the heroine just be satisfied with one?)..So, basically the hero thinks that heroine is a s**t (which is isn't)...and just to satisfy the man within he rapes her...and finds out she is a virgin..and then begins the groveling...

But sadly, there are a really good amount of Thai shows which I loved if I don't take the rape scene into consideration(half of them had rape scenes, and half of them didn't)..

I Hear Your Voice..is Freaking Amazing!!!!!! I hate how it ended in episode 4..just when things got intense..:((...I have fallen in love with Lee Jong Suk (This guy beats Lee Min Ho for me, especially his lips)!! you can see where my thoughts are going!😳 I am really kinda just teen wide eyed staring at him on my lappy..😆 I didn't think I would say that ever for a Korean drama..but he beats LMH big time for me!! I hope he becomes a great star as he goes!! But, this guy has the right talent and is a great actor...(better than LMH in some areas...)...I feel this drama is gonna be a hit! For me the Best K show in the year of 2013 till now..:)

Haha, I laughed so much when I watched Yoon Sang Hyun (remember Oska from Secret Garden), he is the other lead!! He is such a dork, geek, goofball in this drama!! So damn funny!! Love the lead actress!! She is very beautiful! All in all 5+ stars to this show!
