|| PROLOGUE ||

Life's strange. But as they say, there's no lemon so sour, that you can't make something resembling lemonade.

|| CHARACTER SKETCH ||

Arjun Suryakant Rawte - As portrayed in the show. The only change is that, he has a son.

Veer Suryakant Rawte - Son of Arjun and late Roshni. He is 4 years old. He is a very smart and understanding kid. His world revolves around his father.

Sakshi Anand - As portrayed in the show. The only change would be, she has a daughter too. Nobody knows about her.

Kavya Anand - Daughter of Sakshi. A mystery.

Sameer & Aisha Rathod - Mostly as portrayed in the show except that they are married to each other, and has a 4 year old son. Aisha is expecting their next child.

Neel Rathod - Son of Sameer and Aisha. He is 4 years old.

Shree & Liza - As portrayed in the show. The only change is, they are in a live in relationship with each other.

Chotu - As portrayed in the show.

Sikku - Of course. How can we forget our Sikku Baby. He is the main antagonist of this story.

|| CHAPTER I ||

"Urrggghhh. Where the f**k is he? It's been 5 years. 5 freaking years, we're looking for him. Except Arjun sir, we didn't even get a glance of him.", Chotu said almost shouting in frustration.

"Calm down Chotu. Shree said naah, he might be in Goa. If this time, everything goes as per our plan, we're going to catch him.", Liza said and started rubbing soothingly on his back.

"Does that ever happen? Aur waise bhi, how can we take a step, depending on a guess?", asked Chotu.

"Nahi reh. There are possibilities. Goa main achanak se, illegal karyakam badh gaya hain. Aur mere informers agree kar rahe hain kind off. I mean, can it be just a simple coincidence?, Shree said assuring him.

Chotu making a face, shrugged his shoulders.

Suddenly, Arjun entered to the conference room, & cleared his throat. All of them looked at him, questioningly.

"We're going to the Goa.", Arjun said very casually.

"But aise kaise Arjun? We've to plan properly. As Shree said, it's just a hunch. We might have to stay there for a quite long time. There is so much to plan.", Sameer said.

"Aur kitne plan karenge Sam? It's been 5 years. It's time for action. Hunch ho ya naah ho, we can't take a risk.", said Arjun putting pressure on each syllable.

"But..", Sameer interrupted.

"I think, Arjun is right Sam. We should do something. The least we can do is try, rather than sitting here and thinking about what could have happened if everything went as per our plan.

"Okay, fine. Veer aur Neel kaha rahenge?", asked Sameer.

"We are taking them with us, of course.", said Arjun.

"Are you out of your mind, Arjun? You out of all people very well know, how dangerous it might get.", Sameer was shocked.

"If we don't take them with us, yaha pe un dono ke liye zayada khatra ho sakta Hain. C'mon, be practical, Sam. If Sikander ever gets to know that we're after him in Goa, he'll try to harm our kids to weaken us.", Arjun said maintaining a stern face.

"He is right, Sameer. We should take them with us.", Aisha agreed.

"Okay. But I still think this is a very bad idea. Shree look for a place to stay in Goa, we'll have to lay low. Book the flight tickets as well.", ordered Sameer.

"Umm.. Sameer, what if I say, I've a pent house in Goa?", Sakshi interrupted.

"Are you sure, Sakshi?", Sameer was shocked.

"Arreh Haan, Sameer. Waise bhi khali padha reheta hain. I'll do one thing. I'll take the next flight to Goa, and after reaching there, I'll sort everything out. Tum log aao araam se kaal-parso.", Sakshi said.

"Okay then. All final. Shree book the tickets.", Sameer said turning towards the door of his cabin.

As soon as he and Arjun left, Shree turning towards Sakshi, questioned her, "Kya yaar Sakshi? Tu toh badi amir nikli. Pent house and all haan?

"Shut up Shree. It's nothing like that. It was a birthday gift from my grandfather.", Sakshi couldn't help but laugh a little.

"Oh, matlab you're a spoiled brat?", Shree said eyeing her top to bottom.

"Do I look like one? ", Sakshi raised one of her eyebrows.

"It's not fair, Saki. We've known each other for years now. We're practically family. Still you keep secrets from us.", pouted Liza.

"Oh C'mon. Chill guys. It's no big deal.", Sakshi shrugged.

In mind she says, I guess I do have a huge secret. But let's see, what happens.

Later at night that day, Arjun finally reaches his home and pushes the calling bell, after few seconds, a little boy opens the door, showing all his teeth.

"Daddaaa..", shouted the boy.

Arjun immediately scoops him in his arms, hugs him for few seconds, trying to take in the fragrance of his child to soothe away all his pain, worries. He then kisses on his forehead slightly and asked, "Kaisa hain mera bachha? And where is Mrs. Johnson? Why did you open the door?"

"Oh ho Daddaa. Aate hi shuru ho jaateh ho. Mrs. Johnson ko aaj jaldi jaana padha to, maine kaha jao, main khud apna khayal rakh sakta hoon. I'm a big boy, after all.", he grinned.

"What?", said Arjun clenching his jaw.

He locks the door of his house, puts down Veer on the Sofa. He took out his phone and dialled Mrs. Johnson's number.

"You know what? You're fired. How can you be so careless? Aap Veer ko akele chor ke kaise chali gayi? Ekbar mujhe call karke bataya tak nahii. Arreh, batana chahiye tha naah. I would've came home earlier. No, I don't want to hear anything. You know very well that, I don't like keeping Veer alone. Even after knowing my profession, how can you be so inhuman? I won't consider any kind of compromising when it comes to Veer's safety.", he was nearly shouting at the end.

All this while, Veer was staring at his father. After cutting the call, Arjun took few seconds to calm himself then he asked Veer, "Khana khaya?"

"Dadda, Aap bekar main hi unpe chillaya. Maine hi kaha tha. It's all my fault.", Veer was feeling really guilty. If he knew that his father was going to react in this way, he would've told Mrs. Johnson to inform him. He thought his father considered him capable enough to stay alone in home for few hours.

"I don't want to talk about this right now. Chalo tum TV dekho. Main fresh hoke aata Hoon. Then we'll have dinner together.", he maintained his stern voice.

Saying this, he went towards his room.

"Why you're always so afraid, Daddaa?", Veer suddenly shouts from the living area.

Arjun ignoring his question, straight went to the washroom of his room, took off his clothes and turned on the shower, as soon as the cold water started touched his body, he closed his eyes, and thought, because I won't be able to live then, Veer. If something ever happens to you, I won't be able to take it.

|| CHAPTER II ||

Sameer was scrolling through his social networks. Aisha came to their bedroom, glancing towards Sameer, sat in front of the mirror.

"Sameer, you know, you can tell me anything. I won't judge.", said Aisha while rubbing moisturizer on her knuckles.

"Hmm?", Sameer was still in his train of thoughts and didn't really paid any attention to what Aisha said.

"Yes, my water just broke.", she said rolling her eyes.

"What?", asked Sameer instantly looking at her, with his eyes coming out of it's sockets.

Aisha sighed, then went towards him. Sitting very close to him on bed, she cupped his cheeks, asked in a very soft voice, "Sameer? What's going on with you?"

Sameer gave a slight smile to her, then squeezed her hands.

"I was just thinking whether it's going to be a good idea, taking our kids with us or not. You know, it gets very dangerous. If anything happens to Neel or Veer, I won't be able to forgive myself ever.", Sameer finally confessed.

Aisha understood his state of mind. She was having same kind of thoughts too. But what Arjun said earlier was also right. If Sikander ever gets to know about them, he'll try to harm their kids. That inhuman being won't even think twice, before doing anything to their little kids.

Aisha started massaging his temple with her fingertips, trying to soothe away his worries.

After few silent moments, she finally said, "You know, it is going be alright. I've full faith in each and every member of our team. We won't let anything happen to them."

"You know, I love you, right?", said Sameer taking her hands and kissing her knuckles.

Aisha giggled.

While at the Rawte mansion, after having dinner, both Arjun and Veer went to bed, finishing their night chores. Veer's head was rested on Arjun's chest, Arjun's one hand was around Veer's waist, hugging him. They were having a little talk.

"Daddaa, why Goa?", asked little Veer.

"Because we haven't gone for a holiday from a long time. Plus we've some some work there. Ain't you excited, Kiddo?", said Arjun while making random patterns on Veer's back.

"Hmm. I guess.", Veer almost whispered.

"What happened? Why aren't you all jumping and dancing around me, even after hearing the word, holiday?", asked Arjun. He was quite shocked by his son's behaviour.

"Don't know. Not excited anymore. Maybe big, grown-up stuffs.", Veer shrugged.

"Really? What's the matter, Veer? Are you still upset with the Mrs. Johnson thing?", asked Arjun raising his one eyebrow.

"So kaun kaun aayenge humare saath?", asked Veer totally ignoring his question.

Arjun thought for a bit, and decided to let the matter go, until Veer wants.

"Everyone will be there. Sam, Aisha, Neel, Sakshi, Liza, Shree aur Chotu."

"And the fact that, I don't know anyone except, Sam uncle & Aisha aunty, & wo Neel. You've never introduced me to them.", said Veer laughing a bit.

"You know very well Veer that, I don't like taking you with me, at my work place. I want you to stay away from all of these things as long as possible.", sighed Arjun.

"At least, you can invite them over here, on my birthdays, or your birthdays. Main Sam uncle, Aisha aunty, Neel, Mrs. Johnson and Rohan ke alawa kisiko bhi nahii janta hoon.", Veer said truthfully. He hardly has any friends.

"I don't like partying.", said Arjun.

"You don't. But I do. Chalo birthday party chor diya. You don't even let me go to Rohan's house to play. Main pak jata hoon, ghar pe beithe beithe.", complained Veer.

"It's getting late, Veer. You should sleep now. We'll talk about this tomorrow morning.", said Arjun trying to ignore the topic.

"Do we ever, Daddaa?", asked Veer with a sad smile on his face.

"Tomorrow morning, we'll. I promise.", Arjun assured him.

"Goodnight Daddaa.", said Veer closing his eyes.

"Goodnight bachha", said Arjun kissing his forehead.

After making sure, Veer was asleep, Arjun slowly got out of the bed. He went to the balcony and lit up a Cigarette. He started deeply inhaling the smoke to calm himself down. He knew, what he was doing was completely wrong. He never allows Veer to go anywhere alone. The only place, he ever allows, was Sam's house. Still he always made sure, he would drop him, pick him up and he would always keep calling him. He knew, how much Veer loves people, how much he loves interacting with new people. Though he never complained about it. If it continues, Veer is going end up be more lonely than ever. Arjun cannot do this. He cannot do this to Veer. He has to let Veer go. But after suffering from the dreadful past, his childhood, Roshni, was it really his fault that, he was always so afraid? Of loosing Veer? Of loosing the people he cared for? Veer was the only tangible thing in his life, for not giving up. Looking at Veer's face, he knows, he has to live, he has to fight, he has to struggle but still continue to fight for him. He pushed himself to get up from his broken state, for him. Without him, there is nothing left anymore, really. He didn't want to loose him too. He can't. That's why, he has always been so over protective about him. But today he understood he needed to change himself. No matter how much it bothers him, he had to. He knew from the beginning that, he never is going to become a good father. Veer is a good kid. He never complains, or gets irritated over his over protectiveness. He understands somewhat in his own way that why Arjun does what he does. But he can't take that for granted. He can't mess up Veer's life too. He has always been trying his hardest to provide him with a good, comfortable life. And he'll try to do so, no matter what happens.

PS - Smoking is injurious to health. Smoking causes cancer.
