Prologue :: Kismat Konnection

Some things are too strange and strong to be coincidences.

He stared at the wide expanse of greenery as he sipped his espresso, moments like this were his favorite where he can enjoy few minutes of solitude, few minutes of his life that belongs only to him before he has to start working according to his daily routine once again. After all, being ACP Arjun Suryakant Rawte is not as easy as it sounds. Today was the last day of his 1-week vacation that he had taken after solving a high profile case and today was the day that he had to go back to Mumbai and join his new team.

ETF. Emergency Task Force.

Arjun was promoted to the team for his amazing case solving skills and his past record of solving each and every case that he ever took upon. He had taken a week off to visit his family and celebrate his promotion with them. His father who was initially against him joining the police force was now most supportive of his career choices.

Everything was perfect except for the time. Being the elder son of the family and an ACP, Arjun hardly gets the time for himself and his family.

"Bhaiyaa..." Arjun was brought out of his thought when he heard his younger sister call for him. He smiled hearing the excitement in his little sister's voice, "Mere pyaare pyaare bhaiyaa.." Pranali rushed inside Arjun's room holding a newspaper in her hand, followed by Karan, his younger brother, and the middle Rawte sibling.

"Good Morning" Arjun placed the now empty cup on the table. While Karan gave him an acknowledging nod, Pranali on the other hand just kept grinning widely just like a cheshire cat. "Isse kya hua?" Arjun asked.

In response, Karan chuckled, "Pranali.." he gestured something with his eyes. "What's happening guys?" Arjun asked buttoning up his shirt.

"Bhaiya hear this out, your horoscope for today. This is so damn interesting." Pranali exclaimed. Rolling his eyes Arjun adjusted his collar, "Pranali you know main in sab cheezon mein nahi manta. I don't believe in this stuff, it's all bullshit."

"Bhai ek baar sun toh le." Karan said, "Haan bhaiya you should, this might change your life." added Pranali.

"Fine." Arjun sighed, "Bolo."

"Uuuhhmm uuhhmm." Pranali cleared her throat and started reading the newspaper imitating a news reporter, "Aaj ka din aapke liye bohot romanchak hone waala hai, aaj aap ek pink dress pehni ladki se milenge jo aapki zindagi badal degi."

"What in the world!" Arjun cursed and snorted at the same time, "Do you two really think that will happen? I mean there are numerous people of Sagittarius zodiac sign so according to this guy who wrote this horoscope every Sagittarius guy is going to meet a girl in a pink dress?! Seriously?" Arjun shook his head, "And Karan, you too? I mean I understand if Pranali finds this true but you?"

Pranali huffed in anger, "Bhaiya, it's a girl who wrote this!"

"Seriously Pranali?" Arjun looked at his sister amused.

"I know this sounds weird but kya pata bhai shayad yeh sach ho jaye." Karan had a smile on his face as he said that. He made a dreamy face and hugged Pranali sideways, "Imagine that bhai will meet the pink dress waali girl today only..."

"What should I wear today?" Riya was standing in the center of her walk-in closet as she stared around at her clothes.

"Yeh black dress? Nah! I don't have the right shoes for this." she placed the black dress back and picked an olive green jumpsuit. She looked at it for a few seconds and then made a face, "It's not a good airport outfit!"

"Riya!" she heard her mother's voice, "Arre yeh ladki bhi na! You still haven't gotten ready? Bachhe flight ka time hone waala hai and you have to go to the airport too."

"But Maa, mujhe kuch dhang ka mil hi nahi raha pehne ko." Mohini stared at her daughter with raised brows, "Kuch dhang ka nahi hai na..." Mohini waved her hand around pointing at the uncountable number of dresses in Riya's huge walk in closet.

She sighed and went to pick out an outfit, a white top and pink shorts and handed it to Riya."Yeh pehen le." and then she gave her the matching shoes and the other accessories, "Ab theek hai?!"

Riya nodded happily and rushed inside the washroom. Mohini shook her head and wondered, "How will she survive in Mumbai?"

Arjun took out his tickets from the drawer and checked them once, "AI4235xxC flight, seat no. 12A."

"They could be traveling through the same flight! Won't it be amazing if she'll be sitting beside bhai?!" commented Pranali as she hi-fied with Karan while Arjun just shook his head in amusement.

"AI4235xxC flight, seat no. 12B." Sujoy handed Riya the tickets as she packed her 4th and the final suitcase.

"And these are the keys to our apartment, keep them in a safe pocket." Mohini didn't give the keys to Riya and she herself put them in the safe pocket.

"Maza toh tab aayega if she also has a bag similar to bhai's." added Karan.

"Why so?" Pranali frowned in confusion, even Arjun was curious about that one.

"Arre! It will increase the possibility of their bags getting exchanged. It will only become a reason for them to meet again." Karan giggled pointing at Arjun who zipped close his red-colored laptop bag.

Riya pulled her red-colored laptop bag over her shoulder as she walked towards her car which was ready to take her to the airport.

Sujoy and Mohini watched their daughter leave. They didn't go with her because Riya had asked them not to come to send her off as she will start crying and would decide to not go.

"You guys are crazy! Arjun said exasperatedly. "Aisa kuch nahi hoga."

"Let's see." Karan and Pranali smiled.
