I think he really lost his mind.

yes Arjun is really feeling guilty n that's why he is asking forgiveness though he knows both won't forgive him..

Riya is not in state to forgive him..she has lots of anger which she had hidden for all these years in her heart for Arjun..she had gone through a lot because of his mistakes..

yah u could say he lost his mind..lol..gussa Aur dard insaan ko almost pagal hi Bana dete he..
